The Historic Preservation Education Grant, offered by Indiana Humanities, aims to educate citizens about the importance of preserving historic places in their communities. In 2025, Indiana Humanities plans to award nine or ten grants, encouraging projects that foster community engagement and raise awareness of historic preservation's value.

The Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Some of the funds help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study; still others assist students that are most in need. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds.

• Scholarships may be used to offset tuition, fees, room and board, and other items included as part of the cost for attending the institution. 
• Most scholarships are for students who live in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties. However, some are also available to students who live in Berkshire County and Hartford County in Connecticut.
• We offer scholarships to those who attend on either a full-time or part-time basis. 
• Any student who plans to enroll for the upcoming fall semester, in any year of college as an undergraduate or graduate student and who will attend an accredited post-secondary school in the United States may apply.
• Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically renewed each year. You can reapply to our program every year you are going to attend college, and the application you submit that year will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

Wilbur H.H. Ward Education Fund

To support individuals from Hampshire County attending University of Massachusetts Amherst with preference given to residents of the Town of Amherst.

The Nunes Family Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, provides $500 to students from Southeastern Connecticut or Westerly, RI attending Mitchell College. Since 1983, the foundation has awarded over $11.9 million in scholarships to support local students in pursuing higher education and achieving successful careers. Scholarship funds are disbursed to colleges by August 1, ensuring timely support for students' educational needs.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation's Family Innovations Scale Grant supports grassroots projects led by parents and caregivers. This grant aims to enhance and expand initiatives that engage families, particularly those facing systemic barriers. Eligible groups must have a proven track record of delivering projects for over two years, demonstrating their commitment to improving community well-being. By providing funding, the OTF seeks to empower diverse communities, fostering stronger relationships and cultural connections among families.

The G.N. Wilcox Charitable Trust provides tuition aid to tax-exempt educational institutions in Hawaii serving preschool to 12th grade children. Founded by George Wilcox, a prominent figure in Kauai's development, the trust emphasizes the importance of community contributions, requiring full board participation in funding. Notably, it prioritizes support for Kauai schools and prefers to be one of multiple contributors to sustain the educational programs.

Valley Community Foundation

Valley Community Foundation's mission is to inspire philanthropic growth, provide and foster leadership, engage donors, and strengthen the Valley community both now and for future generations. Its vision is a vibrant inclusive Valley that is thriving, collaborative, generous, with a shared sense of community and opportunity.

Valley Needs and Opportunities Grants

It has been the policy of the Valley Community Foundation to make grants in a range from $250 to $10,000 to contribute to and support innovative programs and the urgent needs of our local nonprofits serving the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton, Connecticut.

The Saints Arts Grants support theater, dance, music, and multi-disciplinary organizations in their artistic endeavors. Grants of up to $6,500 are available for projects taking place from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations with at least three years of operation. Funded projects may include costumes, community outreach, and technical improvements, fostering diverse artistic expressions and community engagement.

The Wilcox-Ware Scholarship Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, provides financial assistance to graduating seniors from Buckland, Colrain, or Shelburne. Eligible students can utilize the funds to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. The program supports both full-time and part-time students, ensuring access to higher education for those in need. This scholarship is part of a broader initiative aimed at enriching the community by promoting educational opportunities.

Additional Guidelines

• Students can receive up to $3,000 in scholarships from the Community Foundation.
• Scholarship awards could impact the financial aid offered by a college, and students are advised to check with their college financial aid offices about this.
• Scholarships may be used to offset tuition, fees, room and board, and other items included as part of the cost for attending the institution. Some part and/or all the award could be considered taxable income. It is advisable students check with the college or tax accountant regarding this matter.

Briggs Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Briggs Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to residents of Chugiak and Eagle River who demonstrate financial need.

The Briggs’s had a long affiliation with Chugiak High School and its graduates. During the early 1970’s, the Briggs family provided financial assistance to Chugiak graduates who, without their assistance, would not have had an opportunity to earn a college education. The only request attached to the “scholarship” was a Christmas card report on their progress and achievements. The intent of this scholarship is to provide assistance where there is definite financial need.

The Community Identity and Heritage Grant, administered by the Minnesota Humanities Center, allocates $6,299,000 to support projects that celebrate and teach the diverse cultures of Minnesota. This funding opportunity is open to individuals and organizations, with grants up to $300,000 available. It aims to enhance cultural heritage work for historically underrepresented communities, including Indigenous groups and recent immigrants. All funds must be utilized for new initiatives, ensuring the continuation and growth of Minnesota's rich cultural landscape.

The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship, administered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, offers scholarships up to $5,000 for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students majoring in aerospace science, aeronautical engineering, or related fields. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and have completed at least 52 college credit hours. This scholarship opportunity aims to support the educational aspirations of students pursuing careers in the aerospace industry.

The "Opportunities for Collaborative Research with the NIH Intramural Research Program (U01 Clinical Trial Optional)" aims to foster partnerships between NIH intramural and extramural researchers. This initiative supports translational research projects that bridge basic biological discoveries and clinical applications, enhancing health outcomes. By encouraging collaborations, it seeks to accelerate the development of new therapies and prevention strategies, leveraging unique NIH resources to strengthen scientific innovation and address critical disease processes.

The CFGFW Emergency Grant Program provides crucial funding to Allen County nonprofits facing unexpected expenses that hinder their mission. These grants are designed to address urgent, unforeseen challenges, including community disasters like floods or tornadoes. The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne is committed to supporting local organizations in overcoming financial hurdles, ensuring they can continue their vital work in the community. Emergency Grants may also cover reimbursements for expenses incurred within 14 days of an emergency.

Ripley County Community Foundation

The Ripley County Community Foundation was established in 1997 with $19,000 by a group of local citizens who had the vision to leave a lasting legacy for future generations. 

Mission: We serve Ripley County by growing and sustaining a culture of giving and investing resources to meet community needs.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will provide one scholarship for otherwise reimbursed full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900.00 per year for required books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis. The undergraduate study will lead to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Phase II: Timed Essay

Phase II of the selection process consists of a timed essay portion, which will be administered directly at your high school.

The TYLENOL Future Care Scholarship supports students pursuing healthcare careers, continuing a 30-year tradition of helping those dedicated to caring for others. Eligible applicants must be U.S. residents, graduate students or seniors enrolling in graduate school for the 2024-25 academic year, and provide proof of enrollment in an accredited healthcare program. Scholarships cover tuition, fees, and necessary supplies, ensuring that future healthcare professionals receive the support they need.

The Huntington Arts Council Bi-Monthly Community Impact Micro Grant supports arts-centered programs in Nassau and Suffolk counties, promoting community engagement and cultural enrichment. This grant offers streamlined funding opportunities for individual artists and non-profit organizations to enhance local cultural life. By facilitating artistic initiatives, the council nurtures talent and fosters collaboration, ultimately contributing to the vibrancy of the Long Island arts scene. Eligible applicants can benefit from simplified processes to receive financial support for impactful projects.

The Engagement Award: Dissemination Initiative by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) aims to enhance patient engagement in healthcare decisions through comparative clinical effectiveness research. Since 2010, PCORI has funded over $3 billion for nearly 2,000 projects, focusing on improving health outcomes by providing actionable information. The initiative emphasizes transparency and stakeholder involvement, ensuring that results are accessible to both patients and clinicians, ultimately fostering informed healthcare choices.

The Kramer Barnard Memorial Grant, established by the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, honors the memory of 12-year-old Kramer Barnard. This grant supports local nonprofit organizations in Archer, Clay, or Wichita County that focus on youth development and leadership, particularly in sports and outdoor activities. It aims to assist financially disadvantaged youth in participating in these programs, ensuring that Kramer's legacy continues to inspire and empower future generations.

The Nebraska Environmental Trust offers annual grants to conserve and restore Nebraska's natural environments. Projects must align with specific funding categories and demonstrate clear environmental benefits. Eligible applicants include individuals, organizations, and public entities, provided they meet stated criteria. The Trust encourages collaboration and private investment in environmental projects, emphasizing the importance of public benefits. Funding is typically awarded as reimbursement, with a focus on projects that are both technically and financially feasible.

The Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study Scholarship supports Crawford County, Ohio high school seniors and graduates pursuing educational experiences abroad. Established by The Community Foundation for Crawford County, it honors Samuel Neff's legacy of global engagement. Preference is given to Bucyrus students demonstrating financial need and those traveling outside Western Europe. This scholarship encourages recipients to share their international experiences, fostering a spirit of community and cultural exchange.

The Jane C. Waldbaum Archaeological Field School Scholarship, established by the Archaeological Institute of America, supports students participating in archaeological fieldwork for the first time. With a funding amount of $1000, this scholarship is aimed at junior and senior undergraduates and first-year graduate students who are studying archaeology or related disciplines. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
