The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri Inc. was established in 2009 as a 501(c)3 public charity to help donors support their favorite charities while receiving maximum tax advantage.

We serve as a vehicle for charitable giving, helping donors give to the causes they care about. Donor gifts will strengthen nonprofits increasing programs and services. 

Allen, Mollie J and Nelson G Scholarship

This fund was established to provide academic scholarships to graduating seniors of Northwest Missouri intending to pursue a degree in education at a 2 or 4-year college/university or a Vocational degree/certificate at a 2-year college or Vocational/Technical School.

There are two types of this scholarship: Scholarship 1 and Scholarship 2

One recipient will be chosen for each scholarship. Scholarship 1 is awarded on an annual basis and is renewable for up to 4 years with disbursements in August and January. Scholarship 2 is awarded on an annual basis and is renewable for up to 2 years if needed. 

Scholarship 1

The students eligible shall be graduating seniors of a high school within the 18-county region of The Community Foundation intending to pursue a degree in education (elementary or secondary) through a two or four-year college and/or university. 

Scholarship 1 renewing students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher their freshman year and 2.5 or higher the remaining 3 years to be eligible.

Frank S. Dillon Scholarship

Open applications for graduates in Danville, Pittsylvania, Halifax or Caswell County pursuing training recognized as career, technical, or vocational education.

Artist Opportunity Grants, provided by the Delaware Division of the Arts, support artists in their unique professional and artistic development. These grants aim to help cover costs such as materials for specific shows, facility rentals for performances, or study opportunities with masters in the field. Evaluation criteria include the anticipated impact on the artist's career, financial need, marketing plans, and the uniqueness of the opportunity.

The LSTA Mini Grants in Nevada provide funding up to $10,000 for libraries to support innovative and sustainable projects. Applicants must consult with the LSTA Coordinator and attend a mandatory webinar. The program emphasizes capacity building, partnerships, and community engagement. Projects should align with the goals of Nevada’s LSTA 5-year plan and cannot replace local funding or cover ongoing operational costs. This initiative aims to enhance library services and resources throughout the state.

Frank, Mary and Ray Compton Scholarship

The Special Angels Foundation Grant provides essential support for children with special needs, focusing on accessible therapy within established networks. Due to high demand, applications from outside California are temporarily suspended. The grant covers therapy expenses and requires a letter of medical necessity from a pediatric professional. Applicants must be under 18 and reside in the U.S. The foundation aims to maximize impact by prioritizing in-network resources and ensuring financial clarity for families.

The Community Endowment Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation supports organizations and initiatives in Oregon and SW Washington that promote community engagement, dialogue, and understanding. For the fiscal year 2025, grants between $5,000 and $20,000 are available for projects addressing antisemitism, intergenerational philanthropy, and Jewish continuity. First Responder-Hero Education Scholarship

Open applications for Danville, Pittsylvania, and Caswell County graduates whose parents are armed forces members or veterans, law enforcement officers, or fulltime or volunteer firefighters, with a preference for graduates whose parents were killed or wounded while performing their duties.

The Herzfeld Foundation: Arts Education Grant aims to strengthen organizations dedicated to arts education for youth up to age 18 in Milwaukee. It supports innovative projects that enhance capacity and sustainability, encouraging collaboration among organizations. Grants range from $5,000 to $40,000, prioritizing proposals that improve fiscal stability and access to arts education for underserved communities. The Foundation honors Richard and Ethel Herzfeld's legacy by investing in cultural life and educational opportunities in the Greater Milwaukee area.

Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education provides leadership, oversight, funding, support, and accountability for the Commonwealth's approximately 400 school districts that educate close to 1 million public school children each year. We also oversees programs that serve 20,000 adult learners each year.

Building Early Childhood Partnerships: A Preschool Itinerant Team Initiative

Purpose

The purpose of this competitive grant program is to support 10–15 Massachusetts district teams to develop strategies for supporting preschool students to receive their Individualized Education Program (IEP) services in Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensed community-based settings1, including Head Start, child care and family child care. Support for participation in this initiative includes professional development, coaching, and resources.

The initiative will include in-person professional development for the awarded teams (anticipated to begin in late winter), monthly coaching for the community team (anticipated to begin in early spring and last throughout the summer) and virtual and/or in-person networking opportunities with communities that have implemented the itinerant team model.

Priorities

The main priority of this competitive grant program is to select 10–15 district/community teams, consisting of district, community-based preschool program and Early Intervention administrators/staff, that are prepared to collaborate with one another to develop a local itinerant team model to ensure that preschool children with IEPs have access to inclusive settings with their peers.

Priority will be given to districts and schools that:

• Are in the strategic transformation region;
• Are below the 95% threshold for Indicator 12 and have a rating of zero or one for Indicator 6; and/or
• have a rating of a zero for Indicator 6.

Fund Use

Funds may be used to support participation of team members in the:

• in-person professional development;
• development of an action plan related to the development of a Preschool Itinerant Team that could be implemented in the 2026-2027 school year; and
• development of resources that may be needed related to the implementation of a Preschool Itinerant Team model, including but not limited to outreach materials, training materials, a needs assessment and a cost analysis.

Fund use can include coordinator time, travel to in-person professional development, other professional development needs, site visits to communities currently implementing a preschool itinerant team model, stipends, substitutes and resource development.

The Helen & Jerry Stern Grandchildren’s Fund of OJCF is committed to strengthening the Jewish community in Oregon by empowering organizations that promote Jewish continuity and education. Grants typically range from $250 to $10,000, with an average of about $4,500. This year, the fund is focusing on projects that combat antisemitism while remaining open to diverse proposals that align with its mission.

New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH)

The New Jersey Department of Health leads the state’s response to public health challenges and works to improve health outcomes for all New Jersey residents. Through its three primary branches—Public Health Services, Health Systems, and Integrated Health—the Department collaborates across programs and partners to strengthen New Jersey’s health system. Guided by its mission to protect public health, promote healthy communities, and improve the quality of health care, the Department supports initiatives that advance prevention, system integration, and equitable access to health services statewide.

Oral Health Carries Prevention Program

To provide reimbursement for the delivery of nutrition education and counseling following three successive nutritional counseling dental visits to Medicaid eligible or uninsured children ages 5-18, and their attending caregiver/parent/guardian, when the child is determined by screening per the CAMBRA caries risk assessment tool to be at a medium to high-risk for dental caries and to simultaneously ensure that dental sealants are placed on all teeth eligible for sealants (all permanent and primary teeth having unsealed, pit and fissures that are caries and restoration free) and as per N.J.A.C. 10-56 (the Medicaid Dental Manual). Documentation of existing intact non defective sealants, restorations, caries, and any posterior teeth that do not have pits or fissures (only grooves) on otherwise eligible teeth not being sealed is required as is documentation of who is providing the nutritional counseling and to who the counseling is directed. Successive visits should be spaced apart to enable both an assessment of the patient’s diet and subsequently an assessment of the effectiveness of the first two counseling sessions.

Christopher Wellington Moore Memorial Scholarship

The Christopher Wellington Moore Memorial Scholarship is a $20,000 award to one graduating senior at Castlemont High School, McClymonds High School, Oakland High School or Skyline High School in Oakland, CA who has been accepted to a 4-year university pursuing a degree in music or education. The award will be disbursed in four annual installments of $5,000 to the recipient's chosen university.   

The Headley Trust offers grants to assist regional and local museums in acquiring archaeological artefacts. Aimed at items classified as Treasure under the Treasure Act, the minimum purchase price is £500 and the maximum grant awarded is typically up to £10,000. Recent changes to the Treasure Act broaden the definition, allowing for exceptional finds over 200 years old. This fund operates alongside the V&A Purchase Grant Fund to ensure museums receive necessary financial support.

Diane Marie Gross Scholarship

Open applications for Danville and Pittsylvania County graduates attending Washington and Lee University or the College of William and Mary.

The Ambassador Scholarship, funded by The Denver Foundation, offers undergraduate scholarships to participants of the Ambassador Leadership and Scholarship Program, covering unmet financial needs. One student annually is awarded this scholarship, which is renewable for up to four years if eligibility criteria are met, including maintaining a GPA of at least 2.0. Additionally, two runner-up scholarships of $2,500 are available for finalists. Awards can be used for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.

The Special Needs Grant, provided by Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA), offers financial support to Active Duty members facing increased financial demands due to dependents in the Coast Guard Special Needs Program. Eligible members can receive up to $3,000 every 60 months for various services and resources tailored for special needs, including adaptive equipment and membership fees for relevant organizations. This grant aims to enhance the quality of life for families with exceptional needs.

The Harry Smith Vacation Studentships, offered by the Microbiology Society, provide funding for undergraduates to engage in microbiological research during the summer. Eligible applicants must be Full or Full Concessionary Members of the Society and have a PhD or senior research position. Each studentship includes a stipend of £331 per week for up to eight weeks, with additional funds available for research costs. This program enhances research experience for both students and supervisors.

Open applications for graduates pursuing technical fields of study, preferably attending the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Ray M. Harris Scholarship

Open applications for graduates of public and private schools in Danville or Pittsylvania County, with a preference for Pittsylvania County graduates. Also available for graduate study. 

The CSA Scholars’ Roundtable Honor recognizes individuals who exemplify excellence in costume scholarship. Since its establishment in 1997, it fosters dynamic discussions on pertinent costume scholarship issues during the CSA National Symposium. Nominees are evaluated based on their innovative experiences, insights into scholarly topics, and ability to collaborate effectively. This initiative not only celebrates scholarship but also encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and engagement among scholars in the field.

The Carolyn Horton Scholarship, initiated by the Foundation For Advancement In Conservation, supports members of the Book and Paper Group in covering costs for meetings, seminars, workshops, and research projects. Named after conservationist Carolyn Horton, who made significant contributions to the field, this scholarship aims to foster excellence and education in book and paper conservation. Eligible applicants must be current members of AIC and the Book and Paper specialty group, promoting ongoing professional development.

The Boren Fellowship, offered by the National Security Education Program, supports U.S. graduate students in studying critical languages and cultures in underrepresented regions. With awards up to $25,000, it encourages immersion in languages like Arabic and Chinese. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and enrolled in accredited graduate programs. The initiative prioritizes programs that enhance national security through language proficiency and cultural understanding, fostering public service among its alumni.

The Coast Fork Scholarship supports graduates or graduating seniors from Cottage Grove or Al Kennedy Alternative High Schools pursuing higher education across the United States. This scholarship is aimed at those who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming challenges, with a focus on applicants dedicated to helping others or improving their communities.

The Women Helping Women Fund, supported by the Greater Salina Community Foundation, empowers women in Saline County facing crises by providing one-time assistance. This funding helps with urgent needs like birth certificates, car repairs, and essential services that facilitate independence. Eligible applicants must work through partner agencies, ensuring that the support reaches those who need it most. The initiative aims to uplift women, promoting resilience and self-sufficiency in challenging circumstances.
