Flinn - Dorothy and John Flinn Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is exclusively available to a Sinton or Taft ISD graduating senior, with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and the student must complete an essay on the applicant’s community service.

Leming-Brower Endowment Scholarship
This scholarship is exclusively available to high school graduates from our Coastal Bend seven-county service area (Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio) who plan to enroll or are enrolled in a Texas public university or college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education, with a concentration or certification in special education, leading to a career as a Special Education Teacher. Applicants must have a 3.5 high school GPA (unweighted).

Background
The Olson family lived and farmed in Cloud County, Kansas for many years. Alma Olson raised four children – Michael, Mary, Viola and Gladys. At the age of 13, when his father died, Michael took responsibility for his family farm and helped his mother with the home and cousins who had come to live with them. Michael was a skilled farmer and a generous man.

Booker T. Washington Scholarship
For African-American graduating high school seniors from Saline County High School.
Background
The Booker T. Washington scholarship fund was started with the proceeds from the sale of the former Booker T. Washington Negro Center, located at 345 N. Front. It was designed for African American children and was founded as a private enterprise by Miss Janet Porter in 1939. After her death in 1943, the center was operated by the Porter family with aid from the Community Chest. In 1978 the City completed construction of the Carver Center, and the Porter family felt the Booker T. Washington Center was no longer needed. They closed the center, donating all the equipment to the Carver Center, and the property was given to the YWCA. The Y sold the property and used the proceeds to establish the Booker T. Washington Scholarship Fund.

C.L. Clark Scholarship
For graduates of a Saline County, KS, high school attending the University of Kansas School of Law or Washburn University School of Law.
Background
C.L. Clark was a native Kansan. Born in Paxico in 1908, he graduated from Washburn Law School in 1931, and practiced law for 53 years in Salina. He and James P. Mize were the co-founders of the Salina law firm of Clark, Mize & Linville, Chartered. During his career, Mr. Clark was recognized as a leading banking, business, tax, and corporate attorney. He was heavily involved in community activities, serving on the boards of numerous civic organizations, and he also served as Salina’s city attorney in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Mr. Clark passed away in 2004 at the age of 96. He was at one and the same time a very passionate and compassionate man, constantly championing the rights of minorities and the underprivileged. This scholarship is given in the hopes that the recipients will use it to further not only their legal educations, but also the standards of excellence maintained by Mr. Clark on a daily basis for over half a century – legal skills, integrity, character, credibility, ethics, and compassion for the less fortunate.

Buhl Regional Health Foundation: Mini-Grants
Buhl Regional Health Foundation will award mini-grants in 2026 for implementation of initiatives that strive to increase children’s access to optimal health and well-being and/or improve their access to quality, holistic healthcare. BRHF gives preference to youth-based funding requests.
BRHF’s Mini-Grants Application has been developed to support smaller grant requests of up to $5,000 that meet the guidelines of BRHF grant policy.

Basic Health & Safety Needs Grants
The Buhl Regional Health Foundation (BRHF) invites proposals from nonprofit organizations serving Mercer County to support initiatives that strengthen the Basic Health and Safety Needs of children, youth, and their families. As one of the seven Vital Conditions for a Thriving Community, Basic Health & Safety Needs serve as a foundational requirement for children to grow, learn, and reach their full potential. Humane Housing Grants
The Buhl Regional Health Foundation (BRHF) invites proposals from nonprofit organizations serving Mercer County to support initiatives that strengthen Humane Housing for children, youth, and their families. Humane Housing is one of the seven Vital Conditions for a Thriving Community Framework now guiding BRHF’s funding strategy. This is a foundational factor influencing long-term well-being.
In Mercer County, access to safe, stable, and dignified housing remains a critical determinant of physical, emotional, and mental health. Youth who experience housing instability or unsafe living conditions face significant barriers to healthy development, educational success, and long-term thriving. Through this RFP, BRHF seeks programs that prevent housing instability, improve living conditions, promote family stability, and ensure that all young people have access to safe environments where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Legal Grant & Lawyer Referral Program
GCAC recognizes that artists confront a range of legal matters critical to their career sustainability and the protection of their creative works. In 2026, GCAC is offering a grant to assist with some legal expenses related to an artist’s art practice and art business. In addition, GCAC established a Lawyer Referral Service with attorneys who guarantee to provide our legal program grantees a flat fee of $300 per eligible legal service.

OTSS Early Career Award
The Ocular Toxicology Specialty Section (OTSS) recognizes exceptional contributions from Early-career researchers in ocular toxicology and pharmacology through the Early Career Award. This prestigious award supports and honors the achievements of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and members in training, fostering the next generation of leaders in the field.
Application Materials:
The submitted and/or accepted abstract (for platform or poster presentation) at the SOT Annual Meeting.
A narrative describing the research hypothesis, background, and significance (up to 1 page).
The award will be announced at the OTSS reception during the SOT Annual Meeting, if scheduled after the platform or poster session. The recipient(s) will receive a certificate and a monetary award ($500). Additionally, the recipient(s) may have the opportunity to present a short (3-slide) synopsis of their research at the OTSS in-person reception, if scheduled after the platform or poster session. The monetary award will be mailed after the meeting.

Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship
The Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship was established to provide assistance to students who have completed two years at a Kansas community college and are furthering their education at a four-year secondary institution in Kansas.

About
Paul Newman was born and raised in Ohio by parents who owned a successful sporting goods store. He enlisted in the Navy and completed his military service as a radioman/gunner in the Pacific during World War II. Seeing his father’s business ethic during the Great Depression and experiencing the war fueled his desire to help others in need.
In 1958, Paul made his acting debut on Broadway in “Picnic,” where he also met his future wife, Joanne Woodward. Paul started a successful race car driving career inspired by training for the film Winning. He went on to win second place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s oldest endurance race event. After years of acting and being recognized for his achievements on screen and stage, he received many accolades including an Oscar for Best Actor in The Color of Money.
Paul used his fame for good. He was dedicated to civil rights–attending the March on Washington in August 1963–women’s rights, and gay rights. He used his platform to advocate for equal pay for his female co-stars. He was a vocal political advocate committed to ending the nuclear arms race and determined to elect opponents of war and militarism. President Jimmy Carter appointed him to a United Nations General Assembly session on nuclear disarmament.
In 1982, Paul Newman and his friend Hotch founded a food company on a bit of a lark. They turned a profit selling salad dressing that first year, and did something truly radical when they decided to “give it all away” to good causes.
Paul established Newman’s Own Foundation to ensure the continuation of his philanthropic legacy after his passing. 40+ years since its founding, his first of its kind food company and its innovative business model are still going strong.
