This scholarship is awarded to a student matriculating at a college, university, or business in the year of the scholarship.

The Endangered Species Conservation and Recovery Grant Program, administered by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, aims to support state initiatives for the conservation and recovery of federally threatened and endangered species. Funded through federal sources, this program encourages collaborative project development with CDFW staff and partner organizations. Eligible applicants must provide at least 25% in matching funds, ensuring a commitment to the protection of vulnerable inland and marine species under the Endangered Species Act.

The NextTech initiative aims to propel the development of cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic devices that address critical health challenges. This funding opportunity encourages researchers to innovate solutions that can move from concept to clinical readiness, specifically targeting technologies aligned with the NIH's BRAIN and HEAL initiatives. Successful proposals will focus on overcoming barriers to human trials, ensuring that new medical devices can effectively monitor and treat neurological and addiction-related disorders.

Delta Gamma Foundation

Crisis Grants

Crisis Grants assist members who find themselves in extreme financial need created by job loss, health crisis, natural disaster, or other unexpected life circumstances. Crisis Grants are awarded throughout the year, as funds are available.

Merit-Based Graduate Fellowships

Delta Gamma Foundation graduate fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified initiated members pursuing graduate/professional degrees. Selection is based on scholastic excellence, contributions to chosen field, past and current Delta Gamma activities and leadership, and campus and community involvement.

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-seeking graduate school program. Graduate school includes both master's and doctoral-level degree programs.

Sisters Helping Sisters: Need-Based Scholarships

The Delta Gamma Foundation supports collegiate members who have proven financial need and student loan debt through our Sisters Helping Sisters: Need-Based Scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-served basis, as funds permit. Scholarships awarded are used to offset the cost of tuition. Funds may only be used for tuition.

Texas Education Agency

The Texas Education Agency is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The Texas Education Agency improves outcomes for all public school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) administers federal and state grant awards to its subgrantees to carry out a program. Such entities include primarily school systems (referred to as local educational agencies [LEAs] in statutes), including independent school districts and charter schools; education service centers (ESCs); and, to a lesser degree, institutions of higher education (IHEs), nonprofit organizations (NPOs), and other statutorily allowable organizations.

P-TECH Continued Support Grant

Program Description

This grant will implement innovative strategies for providing a robust model of support to P-TECH campuses in the CCRSM network:

• Developing strategy and resources for successfully scaling CCRSM programs with fidelity to increase the number of CCRSM teachers and CCRSM students
• CCRSM leaders from campuses, districts, institutes of higher education, and business and industry to support and sustain a mature CCRSM model.

Montecito Community Foundation

The purpose of the Montecito Community Foundation is to support a strong Montecito community and serve as a resource for philanthropy.

For 50 years, the Foundation has invested in projects that help to preserve the uniqueness, beauty, charm and safety of our surroundings, as well as foster the Spirit of Montecito.

Montecito Community Foundation Grants

Types of Grants We Make

Grants are provided for projects and programs that promote the general welfare and good of the Montecito community. By the terms of its founding documents, the Montecito Community Foundation confines its support to projects located in Montecito which is defined as within the boundaries of the Montecito Fire Protection District, as well as Coast Village Road.

Some of the areas in which we have provided grants are:

• Projects which promote public safety and property protection, such as traffic improvements, fire protection, flood control, and earthquake and disaster preparedness.
• Projects and events which foster the community and spirit of Montecito, such as community celebrations, events honoring individuals or groups for improving our community and events which encourage greater community involvement.
• Activities which inform residents of Montecito on local and other matters, such as public forums on matters of current interest or concern, library resources, and other public resource information services.
• Beautification and improvement of our public roads, parks, local government properties, and other public places.
• Improvement and, occasionally, acquisition of recreational facilities, such as parks, open spaces, beach-side entrances, trail heads, and trails.
• Maintenance and preservation of our community, such as community clean-up days of the roadsides and other public places.
• Assisting local governmental entities with capital projects and other unique needs.

Beckley Area Foundation

Beckley Area Foundation was established in January 1985 by ten community-minded citizens. It began with a gift of $1.1 million from the Dr. Thomas Walker Memorial Health Foundation as “seed” money for this Raleigh County project. BAF assets have grown to over $70 million with over 500 different funds managed by our three trustee banks. Today, Beckley Area Foundation is one of West Virginia’s largest community foundations.

Since its inception, BAF has distributed over $23 million to charities and other worthy projects in the fields of education, public recreation, health & human services, the arts, animal services and beautification.

The Beckley Area Foundation proudly manages scholarship funds established by individuals, businesses, and organizations dedicated to helping students pursue higher education. Many of these scholarships are tailored for specific schools, fields of study, or graduates from local high schools, while others offer broader opportunities. No matter the path, our scholarships aim to support students from our region as they work toward achieving their educational goals.

Most of these scholarships must be awarded to students from our geographic area or at least preference given to such students. While the majority of scholarships benefit Raleigh County applicants there are others designated for Fayette, Summers, Webster, and Wyoming students. 

Appalachian Scholarship

High school graduate from Appalachian coal fields enrolling in an engineering program at a technical college or university such as Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, MIT, Cal Tech, Colorado School of Mines, or the engineering schools of Virginia Tech and Texas A&M; Applicants planning to attend engineering schools not listed must contact the BAF office to determine if it is a donor approved program. The recipients are to be selected based on their academic potential.

Provides scholarship aid to disadvantaged and minority West Virginians who will attend law school to prepare for a legal practice in the State of West Virginia; Applicants must demonstrate outstanding contribution to organizations and programs in the human rights field.

Southern West Virginia Homebuilders Scholarship

Student whose parent or legal guardian has been a member in good standing of the So. WV Homebuilders Association or whose parent or legal guardian is an employee of a member business whose job is related to the home building trade, which has been a member in good standing for the current year and at least one year prior to scholarship application. Awarded on the basis of a combination of need and merit.

This scholarship is not renewable.

The Wyoming County Community Fund, managed by the Beckley Area Foundation, supports local residents pursuing higher education at specific institutions. Eligible applicants include Wyoming County residents enrolling at the Wyoming County Career & Technical Center or Southern WV Community & Technical College, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The fund aims to assist students returning to education after workforce experience or those with a GED, ensuring community service and work experience are considered. This scholarship is not renewable.

James Graham Brown Foundation

The James Graham Brown Foundation was established in 1954 by Louisville entrepreneur and philanthropist James Graham Brown. Guided by his enduring vision for Louisville and Kentucky, the Foundation carries forward his legacy of philanthropy that strengthens communities and fosters civic pride.

Louisville Responsive Community Grants

Our Louisville-based Responsive Grantmaking is designed to support projects and initiatives that contribute to Louisville’s progress and reputation. These grants respond to opportunities identified by community organizations and are designed to strengthen the city’s quality of life and overall vitality.

Responsive grants typically focus on locally driven efforts that align with the Foundation’s mission and advance Louisville as a thriving, engaged community. Projects often reflect collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to making the city a better place to live, work, and visit.

Additional Considerations

Organizations should demonstrate significant financial support for projects, including contributions from private donors, private and public grants, and other sustainable sources of revenue. Additionally, letters of support or endorsement are appropriate to include in the application. It is also encouraged to mention current partnerships and collaborations.

• The proportion of a project budget requested from JGBF should not typically exceed 30% of the total project budget. The amount of the grant request should be appropriate for the scope of impact.
• Proposals that demonstrate 50%–60% of the total project cost raised are more competitive.
• JGBF will rarely be the sole funder and encourages a broad base of support to reinforce projects and increase the likelihood of lasting impact.
• Requests made via LOI must be approved by the applicant's CEO prior to submission.

Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established in December 2024 to support educational expenses for customers or the children/dependents of customers of Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company who intend to pursue postsecondary education.

The fund supports ten $1,000 scholarships awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who are customers of Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company, or who have a parent or guardian who is a customer, and who plan to pursue postsecondary education.

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Monroe County and intends to pursue a degree in a field related to environmental science in a school of higher education.

Teddick Family Fund Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Mountain View High School, Montrose High School, Elk Lake High School, or Lackawanna Trail High School who demonstrates academic achievement, good citizenship and service to others, leadership, and community service.

The funds are provided through the generosity of corporations, foundations, individuals and trust funds.

Ausmus G. Wells Memorial Fund Scholarship

The Ausmus G. Wells Memorial Fund Scholarship is providing scholarships for deserving students. The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc. (CSA), a non-profit, independent organization is the facilitator of the scholarship fund.

Must be planning to attend East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in any field of study leading to a degree, diploma or certificate provided the institution meets the requirements in the following paragraph. Recipients must be enrolled full-time each semester and working towards an undergraduate degree.

The institution must be an educational organization that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of pupils or students in attendance at the place where its educational activities are regularly conducted.
