AACR Fellowship for Clinical/Translational Sarcoma Research
The AACR-QuadW Foundation Sarcoma Research Fellowship in Memory of Willie Tichenor represents a joint effort to encourage and support a postdoctoral or clinical research fellow to conduct translational or clinical sarcoma research and to establish a successful career path in this field.
The fellowship provides a one-year grant of $60,000 to support the salary and benefits of the fellow while working on a mentored sarcoma research project. Funds may also be designated for non-personnel expenses, such as research/laboratory supplies, equipment, publication charges for manuscripts that pertain directly to the funded project, and other research expenses. However, grant funds cannot be used to compensate for clinical practice with patients or for indirect costs.
Women in Cancer Research Scholar Awards
AACR-WICR Scholar Awards are awarded to members of Women in Cancer Research who are scientists-in-training and presenters of meritorious scientific papers at AACR Annual Meetings.
Purpose
The purpose of this award program is to increase the scientific knowledge base of Women in Cancer Research members and to encourage them to pursue careers in cancer research.

About the AASM Foundation
For 25 years the AASM Foundation has been the leading organization helping investigators, community leaders, and clinicians address the challenges of the evolving field of sleep. The programs of the AASM Foundation support career development, high-impact research projects, and community programs that are Championing a Bright Future in Sleep Health.
Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators
The Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators provides ‘bridge’ funding to established mid-level and senior investigators who plan to resubmit an application for a multi-year investigator-initiated federal grant that was previously not funded. Applicants must be at a critical juncture where research funding is needed to stay in the sleep field. The Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators will give scientists the time and funding needed to revise and resubmit their independent federal grant application.
Research Focus
The Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators is open to investigator-initiated projects that address one or more important unanswered scientific questions related to sleep and circadian science, sleep disorders, and/or sleep health.
Investigator-Initiated Grants
Investigator-initiated federal grants include:
If the investigator-initiated grant for which the applicant is seeking bridge funding for resubmission is not listed, the applicant must contact the AASM Foundation to ensure that it is appropriate to apply for the Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators.
Unfunded Application
Applicants must include the unfunded, investigator-initiated federal grant application, reviewer critiques and, if received, the priority score and summary statement with their Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators application. Additionally, they must include a response to reviewer critiques.
Resubmission Plan
The applicant must provide a plan to resubmit their revised investigator-initiated grant. The applicant needs to answer questions in the application, specifying the investigator-initiated grant program they are resubmitting and applying to, the resubmission deadline, the eligibility requirements of the grant program, and whether they will still meet the eligibility requirements at the time of resubmission.
Resubmitting a grant to a different grant mechanism within the same federal funding agency (e.g., NIH R01 to U01) supported through the Bridge to Success Grant for Mid-Career/Senior Investigators is not permitted, as this is considered a new application.
Funding Information
There are no restrictions on the distribution of expenses, however, indirect costs are capped at 8%. The grant is a contract between the AASM Foundation and the grantee’s institution.
