Community Foundation of Greater New Britain

Since 1941, the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has been the area’s signature resource for those who, like us, aspire to make our community a better place.

The Foundation has been at the forefront of positive community change and charitable impact since The Stanley Works and New Britain Machine pooled $30,000 in gifts before World War II to begin what was then called the New Britain Foundation for Public Giving. Primarily a grant maker for many years, providing funding to support New Britain non-profits and their programs, our Foundation today is leading and collaborating to shape the Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington of tomorrow.

Community Chest of New Britain and Berlin (CCNBB) Grant

The Community Chest of New Britain and Berlin has a long, proud history of serving our community. 

The Community Chest supports programs in the health and human service area and will consider requests for program grants, general operating support and seed grants for new programs. Generally, requests for capital equipment are not funded but may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proposals will be evaluated with respect to available funding and the potential benefit of the project to the community.

Due to the challenging economic climate and recent cuts to federal funding, the Community Chest Board will prioritize programs that address the following basic needs until further notice:

• Mental Health
• Food
• Housing/Shelter
• General Health

Organizations serving children in regard to the priority areas above will receive additional consideration

Community Foundation of the Quincy Area

My Community Foundation (also known as The Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving quality of life in the communities it serves by connecting compassionate donors with meaningful causes. The foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit partners to gather charitable contributions, grow those funds through professional investment strategies, and grant the earnings in ways that address local needs now and into the future. It builds and manages permanent endowments tailored to donors’ goals, ensuring their philanthropic visions—whether honoring a loved one, establishing a legacy, or supporting community needs—are realized. Serving a 12-county region across West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri, the foundation acts as a steward of charitable assets, helping donors make a lasting impact through customized giving opportunities, community grants, and strategic support for nonprofit organizations.

Teens Active in Grantmaking (TAG)

TAG (Teens Active in Grantmaking) is a chance for high school students in Quincy to make real change in their community. From September to May, TAG members meet monthly to explore the world of community leadership, philanthropy, and civic engagement. Through hands-on learning, guest speakers, and team collaboration, members gain a deeper understanding of local issues and how nonprofits make a difference.

Whether you're passionate about mental health, food access, education, or creating more opportunities for youth, TAG gives you the tools (and trust!) to turn ideas into impact.

Youth Grants Program

The Youth Grants Program is administered by PCCF’s Youth Philanthropy (YP) Committee with funding provided by the Putnam County Youth Philanthropy. The program provides grants to youth-led projects and charitable organizations for youth-serving projects which benefit Putnam County. The Board of Directors may provide additional guidance on areas of need following PCCF’s Community Needs Assessments. 

Organizations may be awarded one Youth Grants award per calendar year.

San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc.

Mission

The Kiwanis Club of San Diego works in concert with the San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. (the ‘Foundation’). The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) foundation incorporated in California that annually provides more than $250,000 to projects and organizations in the community.

The primary purpose of the San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation is to provide a means for members and others to provide charitable contributions and to ensure those contributions are utilized in accordance with the Foundation’s guidelines as well as state and federal law.

The Kiwanis San Diego and San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation are providing Community Impact Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 for nonprofit organizations in the San Diego region with specific projects and programs focused on youth.

The Truancy Reduction Service Grant, offered by the District of Columbia Department of Human Services, focuses on providing essential services to combat truancy among youth aged 10-17 in selected schools. This initiative, aimed at enhancing mental health, mentorship, and family support, emphasizes the importance of culturally competent strategies and outreach. Applicants must demonstrate experience with at-risk youth and ensure services are accessible in Spanish, targeting diverse populations, including those facing housing instability and special needs.

The West Valley Lutheran Thrift Shop (WVLTS) Grant provides financial support to non-profit organizations that align with its mission of serving communities in the West Valley, Arizona. The grant focuses on projects that enhance Christian outreach, especially for vulnerable populations and youth education. Applications are evaluated based on alignment with the mission and financial viability. The WVLTS aims to fund impactful initiatives that contribute to the well-being of the community, with a preference for projects over $10,000.

The Japanese American Community Foundation Grants support programs for the Japanese American and broader Asian American communities. Funding ranges from $2,500 to $50,000 for projects focusing on senior health, history, arts, culture, and youth. Eligible applicants must be registered 501c3 public benefit nonprofit organizations. Note that organizations with open grants cannot apply until their current grant is closed. Submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) before the full proposal.

The Gender-Specific Services Grant, offered by the New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety, aims to support programs that address the unique challenges faced by girls and gender-expansive youth. This initiative fosters safe, inclusive environments where participants can heal from trauma and build confidence. By promoting trust, creativity, and leadership, the grant seeks to empower young people to connect with role models, express their identities, and envision a brighter future.

The City of Boston's Domestic, Sexual, & Gender Based Violence Prevention Mini-Grant seeks to empower young men to be part of the solution against violence. This initiative aims to fund educational programs that promote social and emotional development, ensuring inclusivity for all Boston residents. By engaging youth early, the grant focuses on effective strategies to prevent domestic and gender-based violence, fostering a safer community for everyone.

The Let's Play Boston: Relief Grant, offered by the City of Boston, aims to support community-based youth sports organizations facing financial challenges. With funding up to $2,000, this program helps ensure that youth athletes, aged 8 to 19, can continue their sports participation despite unexpected costs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted or until February 28, 2026, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in youth sports.

The National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative aims to enhance trauma-focused treatment and services for children and adolescents affected by traumatic events. By increasing access to these vital services, the initiative seeks to support families in overcoming the challenges posed by trauma. Eligible applicants include public and private nonprofit entities, ensuring a broad reach for effective intervention and support within communities.

The Transition Age Youth Advocacy Grant aims to empower young individuals aged 16-25, particularly those with serious mental health challenges, to advocate for their needs within California's behavioral health system. By fostering leadership and engagement, this initiative seeks to involve these youth in meaningful advocacy efforts that address issues like homelessness and involvement in justice systems. The goal is to create a supportive environment that reflects their realities and promotes their agency.

The P.U.L.S.E. of Noble County Grants aim to support nonprofit organizations in enhancing educational and service-related programs for the youth of Noble County. Grants up to $1,000 are available for projects that align with the mission of fostering lifelong service and education. Applicants must submit a detailed proposal, budget, and IRS Tax Determination Letter. Successful recipients will need to fulfill reporting requirements to maintain eligibility for future grants.

The Sprague Charitable Contribution Program focuses on giving back to communities through charitable donations. With awards ranging from $250 to $10,000, priority is given to organizations that support children and environmental stewardship, particularly within Sprague's operational areas. The program seeks impactful contributions that can achieve significant results, reflecting Sprague's commitment to social responsibility and community improvement.

The Youth as Resources Grants provide financial support to youth-led projects that aim to serve or educate the community in Door County. Grants typically range from $200 to $500, with exceptional projects potentially receiving more. Any youth group primarily composed of Door County residents is eligible to apply, fostering engagement and development of youth skills while benefiting the local area.

The Josh Dubin Fellowship, launched in January 2022 by the Shawn Carter Foundation, is a seven-week paid program designed for five exceptional students interested in the legal field. This immersive experience includes mentorship from legal professionals, direct involvement in case analysis, and off-site visits to courtrooms. Fellows not only gain invaluable insights into legal practices but also receive additional scholarship support for their educational pursuits, empowering them to overcome socio-economic barriers and achieve their dreams.

The Coleman County Foundation Grant supports 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government agencies in addressing immediate community needs. Established in 1999, the Foundation has invested over $1.2 million into various sectors including arts, education, health, and social services. This funding opportunity aims to enhance community development and improve the quality of life for residents in Coleman County, fostering growth and support for essential initiatives.

The 'Youth Voice in Action' initiative by the Hawai'i Community Foundation empowers youth by providing nonprofits with funding to enhance youth leadership and decision-making in educational settings. This two-year grant aims to strengthen youth agency and engagement, ensuring that young voices play a vital role in shaping relevant and impactful learning experiences across Hawai‘i. By advocating for equity and community connections, this program envisions a brighter future for all island communities.

The Mid-South RC&D Council Grant aims to improve the quality of life in Autauga, Bullock, Butler, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, and Montgomery counties. Established in 1993, this nonprofit organization focuses on community needs through education and resource enhancement. Key priorities include community improvement, workforce development, emergency preparedness, and youth and adult programs. The council supports initiatives that promote economic development, training, and technology resources to benefit local citizens.

The First Bank Richmond Community Foundation Grant aims to enhance the quality of life in the communities served by First Bank Richmond. Focused on economic development, education, health and human services, youth programs, and the arts, the foundation supports nonprofit organizations that align with its funding priorities. Grants are awarded annually to foster community growth and investment in the future.

Carney’s Kids Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults through financial support and positive publicity for non-profit organizations. By hosting community events and fundraising activities, the foundation partners with over 50 charities to enhance children's physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Their mission includes providing educational assistance and supporting families in need, ensuring disadvantaged children have pathways to realize their potential. This commitment reflects a holistic approach to child welfare in the community.

The Charlotte Community Foundation offers unrestricted grants aimed at supporting Veterans, Seniors, and Youth in Charlotte County, FL. Established in 2024, the Mary V. Renois Family Fund provides essential operational support to nonprofit organizations meeting these populations' needs. The grants are designed to enhance the quality of life through comprehensive services, educational opportunities, and community leadership, ensuring a measurable local impact and fostering a culture of philanthropy in the region.

The George and Frances Ball Foundation offers Quarterly Competitive Grants to support organizations with 501(c)(3) designations. These grants focus on capacity building in East Central Indiana, enhancing education, civic engagement, nature preservation, and the arts. Applications are accepted four times a year, with deadlines on January 21, April 9, July 8, and November 5. Successful applicants can expect a decision within 6–8 weeks of the submission deadline, fostering community improvement and support.

The Caesar Rodney Rotary Foundation Grant, offered by the Delaware Community Foundation, supports nonprofit organizations in New Castle County, DE, that serve underserved youth and young adults up to 25 years old. Established in 2018, the grant aims to empower these individuals by providing essential skills and support for a self-sufficient future. This initiative emphasizes community education and volunteerism to address the pressing needs of at-risk youth in the area.

The GACF Strategic Grant aims to enhance the Greenville community by supporting nonprofit organizations, schools, and government units that address critical needs in arts and culture, children and families, and community development. With over $40 million in endowed assets, the Greenville Area Community Foundation prioritizes innovative projects that foster collaboration and self-sustainability. Eligible applicants must focus on improving quality of life and access to opportunities for underserved populations in Montcalm County.

The NVTC Foundation Kilberg Scholarship Fund, established by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, supports women pursuing higher education in STEM fields. This scholarship honors Bobbie Kilberg's dedication to community service. It aims to address the underrepresentation of women in technology careers, providing financial assistance to those demonstrating leadership potential and financial need. Eligible candidates include high school seniors and graduates from Northern Virginia who are committed to advancing their careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

The Chester Rotary Club, Charles H. Kinsey, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment aims to support students from Southern Chesterfield County, Virginia, in their pursuit of higher education. Established in 2012 to honor Colonel Charles H. Kinsey, Jr., the scholarship focuses on applicants demonstrating academic excellence, community involvement, and financial need. It reflects the Rotary Club's commitment to 'Service Above Self' by encouraging educational aspirations and community service among local youth.
