Search Through Grants for the Arts in New Hampshire

This funding opportunity encourages innovative solutions to pressing local needs.

The Nordson Corporation Foundation Grant supports educational programs that enhance community quality of life. Focused on fostering self-sufficiency and job readiness, the Foundation values strong relationships and employee engagement. By funding diverse non-profit initiatives, it aims to ensure that all children have access to quality education and that communities thrive through enhanced educational opportunities. Currently, applications are invited only, aligning with their commitment to impactful community partnerships.

New Hampshire State Council on the Arts

The State Arts Council was established in 1965 as the official state arts agency with legislation (RSA 19-A) designed "to insure that the role of the arts in the life of our communities will continue to grow and play an ever more significant part in the welfare and educational experience of our citizens." The NHSCA is advised by a 15-member council that meets at least four times a year. Councilors are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Executive Council.

Funding for competitive grants and program services to benefit New Hampshire's citizens is made possible through appropriations from the New Hampshire State Legislature and from a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The State of New Hampshire also accepts private, tax-deductible donations and bequests that may be designated for the sole purpose of helping the Arts Council fulfill its enabling legislation.

Arts Project Grants support initiatives that use the arts to strengthen communities.

Arts Project Grants support initiatives that use the arts to strengthen communities and individual wellbeing, enrich K–12 learning, and promote values that encourage creativity and positive impact for the project participants, ultimately helping to build stronger communities across New Hampshire. The intended program recipients are individuals across New Hampshire, including students, families, older adults, individuals with disabilities, military and veterans, law enforcement, and those experiencing physical or mental health challenges. By expanding access to arts experiences that inform, educate, and foster strong, healthy communities, the program reflects the Arts Council’s commitment to supporting meaningful, high-quality arts engagement for all.

In accordance with the program’s funding priorities, proposals from schools, hospitals, mental health providers, facilities that assist military and/or veterans, law enforcement, and municipalities will be reviewed with elevated weighting to support services that directly benefit community well-being.

The Fund for Community Advancement Grant Program, established by Franklin Savings Bank in 1997, aims to enhance community life by supporting diverse projects. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, focusing on areas such as affordable housing, healthcare, and social services, particularly for low to moderate income families. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities or government subdivisions. The program encourages impactful initiatives within Franklin and surrounding communities.

The NHSCA Arts for Community Engagement Project Grants aim to foster community enrichment through accessible high-quality arts events. This funding supports diverse activities presented by local organizations, municipalities, and Main Street programs. By encouraging collaboration and enhancing New Hampshire's cultural vibrancy, the grants seek to engage underserved populations and stimulate local economies, thus enriching the lives of residents and promoting the arts as a vital component of community life.

By funding projects like festivals, workshops, and exhibits, this initiative seeks to deepen community appreciation and ensure that traditional artists are recognized and compensated. Grants range from $1,000 to $8,000, with a focus on local artists and cultural specialists, fostering collaboration and enriching the state's vibrant cultural landscape.

The Audrey Hillman Fisher Foundation Grant aims to enhance health and healing for communities through investments in the arts, education, human services, and environmental initiatives. With a focus on Pittsburgh, PA, Santa Barbara, CA, and Squam Lakes, NH, the foundation accepts grant applications year-round, with deadlines of January 5 for June funding and July 1 for November funding. The foundation prioritizes projects from new organizations within these regions.

The NHWF: Women and Girls of Color Fund Grant supports projects led by and serving women and girls of color in New Hampshire. With only 1.9% of philanthropic dollars directed towards women and girls, this fund aims to address the funding gap by providing small, quarterly grants of up to $2,000. This initiative encourages community-based solutions, ensuring women and girls of color play a significant role in project planning and implementation, fostering equity and justice.

The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation grants aim to enhance oral health care access and education in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The Foundation supports initiatives that focus on improving awareness of good oral health, preventive care, and accessibility of dental services. The Rogers Family Foundation Fund supports nonprofit organizations focused on education, health, human services, community development, and the arts in Massachusetts' Merrimack Valley and North Shore, as well as Southeastern New Hampshire. Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt under 501(c)(3) and not classified as private foundations. Proposal deadlines are March 1 and September 1, with specific funding interests prioritized for program support.

The Adelard A. and Valeda Lea Roy Foundation Grant focuses on supporting organizations in arts, education, health, and environmental sectors, especially in underserved communities in Massachusetts and Northern New England. Grants typically range from $2,500 to $10,000, with an emphasis on projects that address food security, housing, and cultural access for disadvantaged populations. The foundation prioritizes initiatives that align with its current funding priorities, particularly benefiting low-income youth, Indigenous communities, and immigrants.

The Greater Rochester Community Health Foundation offers targeted grants of up to $25,000 to nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing access to dental, maternal, and mental health care in Strafford County, New Hampshire. Established with proceeds from the Frisbie Memorial Hospital sale, this foundation aims to improve community health and well-being. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities, while those outside Strafford County may apply if they serve the area.

The Rosamond Thaxter Foundation Grant supports charitable organizations in Kittery, Maine, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the Isles of Shoals. With a focus on capital projects that promise lasting benefits, the Trust encourages applications from well-governed 501(c)(3) nonprofits that demonstrate strong community support and a clear rationale for funding needs.

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation Grant supports organizations in the Metro Atlanta area, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, community enrichment, and environmental sustainability. Established in 1958, the foundation prioritizes investments that align with its mission and values, promoting long-term well-being within communities where Georgia-Pacific operates. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public schools, and local government entities located within 30 miles of GP manufacturing sites.

The Clowes Fund supports socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals in New England, particularly through immigrant services and workforce development. Grants are available for both introductory and continuation applications, focusing on areas like education and community integration. Organizations serving specific counties in New Hampshire are prioritized. With a rigorous application process, fewer than 10% of introductory applications result in funding, while returning grantees have a higher success rate for continuation grants.

The Dr. Scholl Foundation offers grants annually to IRS 501(c)(3) organizations, primarily focusing on U.S. applicants. The New Hampshire Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant provides federal funding for academic enrichment and support services for students in high poverty schools. The Rock On Foundation, established in 2013 by brothers Luke and Matt Bonner, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that enhances community artistic and athletic opportunities in New Hampshire. Recent projects include renovating public basketball courts, supporting music school financial aid, developing after-school art programs, and funding life skills camps for underprivileged youth. The foundation welcomes grant applications from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations and municipalities, ensuring all initiatives foster community engagement and development.

The Claremont Savings Bank Foundation Grant supports local non-profits enhancing community quality of life and economic vitality. Since 2003, it has awarded over $2.7 million in grants ranging from $500 to $5,000. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) approved and serve the Bank's CRA area, with a focus on civic, arts, social services, health, and affordable housing. The Foundation prioritizes community-impact projects, while excluding individuals, political, or religious organizations.

The NHSCA Art in Health Project Grants support initiatives that use the arts to enhance health and healing in underserved communities in New Hampshire. With two distinct tracks, the Health & Healing Track focuses on non-clinical arts engagement for individual healing, while the Public Health Track aims to address public health needs through collaborative arts activities. Both tracks promote social cohesion and awareness of health determinants, fostering healthier environments for all.
