PLTW Launch (PreK-5)

Young learners are naturally wired for discovery. PLTW Launch is designed with activities that let them see what they can be and build skills to discover what they can do. Students are immersed in hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. They experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more. Throughout the modules, even the youngest learners apply their math and English Language Arts (ELA) skills, learn science to standards, and adopt skills that are foundational across disciplines.

PLTW Gateway (6-8) opens paths that create meaningful futures. It connects students to careers in areas they can, and can't, imagine. Through explorations of skilled trades, coding and robotics, flight and space, human body systems, and more, PLTW Gateway fuels students’ passion for discovery. As they engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, students use and stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways that connect their learning to life. All the while, students step into roles spanning the career landscape—a crucial experience during this transitional time in their lives, long before they enter their degreed or skilled trade professions.

The PLTW Computer Science grant, in partnership with Pentair, supports schools in implementing the PLTW Computer Science program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Schools must offer at least one PLTW Computer Science course and report on their progress for one year. Green Partners Grant

Engage, educate, act and collaborate for the environment

Hennepin County provides funding and support to organizations to actively educate, engage and motivate residents to become environmental stewards and make positive behavior changes.

Through the Green Partners program, Hennepin County contracts with organizations to implement projects that engage youth and adults in becoming environmental stewards. Projects engage youth in learning about environmental topics and taking leadership on environmental issues as they get older. Green Partners also supports projects to engage our adult residents in helping the county reach it’s zero waste and climate goals by preventing waste, composting organic waste, reducing, reusing, recycling, and repairing and caring for our natural resources by improving water quality, caring for trees, and creating habitat to protect birds, bats, and pollinators.

Types of Grants

Youth Environmental Education Grants

Youth environmental education projects engage youth in elementary and middle school in environmental education and outdoor nature experiences. Project activities engage youth in learning about the environment to develop their awareness and increase their knowledge of environmental issues and solutions. Strong projects are inquiry driven, incorporate hands-on and experiential environmental learning, provide outdoor nature experiences, and promote environmental stewardship. Preferred projects incorporate county identified project ideas.

Levels of Funding

• If you have received a Green Partners award before, you can apply for up to $25,000 for a one-year project or, if you meet the criteria, up to $50,000 for a two-year project.
• If you have never received a Green Partners award before, you can apply for up to $12,000 for a one-year project. 

The Dawn Foods Foundation Corporate Grants program is dedicated to enhancing community well-being through strategic investments in key areas like hunger prevention, education, community vibrancy, and volunteerism. With a strong commitment to improving lives, the foundation supports initiatives that promote health, literacy, and creative arts, while also encouraging team members to engage in volunteer efforts. Though applications for 2025 are closed, opportunities will reopen in 2026.

The IMA Foundation Grant focuses on empowering communities by supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to workforce development, financial security for families, and enhancing emergency preparedness. With a mission to provide philanthropic assistance, the foundation seeks partners that align with its vision and operational reach. Organizations must be 501c3 nonprofits and serve areas where IMA has offices, ensuring that their initiatives directly impact youth under 26 years of age.

Youth Environmental Leadership Program

Youth environmental leadership projects encourage environmental leadership and/or exposure to green jobs for young people in high school up to age 24, (collectively, the “Project”). Project activities should encourage an environmental stewardship mindset that lasts beyond the program. Projects may provide opportunities for youth leadership in their school or community and exposure to green jobs or investigation into the green aspects of jobs they are interested in pursuing. Climate change projects related to zero waste and protecting natural resources are priorities for this program. Preferred projects incorporate county identified project ideas.

Levels of Funding

• If you have received a Green Partners award before, you can apply for up to $25,000 for a one-year project or, if you meet the criteria, up to $50,000 for a two-year project.

The Luther I. Replogle Foundation Grant supports organizations in metro areas like Boston and Washington, DC, focusing on youth, women with children, and those in long-term poverty. First-time applicants are welcome, but the foundation prioritizes innovative programs with annual expenses under $1 million. Certain areas, such as religious activities and for-profit businesses, are not funded.

The Paul M. Vanhoutte Distinguished Lectureship in Vascular Pharmacology recognizes excellence in vascular pharmacology and honors Dr. Vanhoutte's significant contributions to the field. Awarded biennially, it includes a $1,000 honorarium, a custom crystal bowl, and up to $2,000 for travel expenses to the ASPET Annual Meeting. Recipients are invited to present their research at the meeting, promoting advancements in cardiovascular pharmacology and fostering professional growth.

The Old National Bank Foundation offers grants to nonprofit organizations for community impact initiatives across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Focused on four key areas—Affordable Housing, Workforce Development, Economic Development, and Financial Empowerment—the foundation prioritizes programs that support underrepresented communities. Organizations must have 501(c)(3) status and align with the foundation’s funding priorities to qualify for grants, which can be applied for every two years.

The Bernard B. Brodie Award in Drug Metabolism and Disposition honors significant contributions in drug metabolism, recognizing outstanding research that impacts future studies. Presented biennially, it includes a $2,000 honorarium, a medal, and an invitation to present at the Annual Meeting. Candidates from all sectors are eligible, and nominations may highlight lifetime achievements or promising mid-career scientists. The award aims to celebrate innovation in this critical field.

The Nordson Corporation Foundation Grant supports educational programs that enhance community quality of life. Focused on fostering self-sufficiency and job readiness, the Foundation values strong relationships and employee engagement. By funding diverse non-profit initiatives, it aims to ensure that all children have access to quality education and that communities thrive through enhanced educational opportunities. Currently, applications are invited only, aligning with their commitment to impactful community partnerships.

The Division for Molecular Pharmacology Early Career Award, presented annually by the American Society For Pharmacology And Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), honors junior investigators for their academic achievements. The award includes a $250 honorarium, a plaque, and support for attending the ASPET Annual Meeting. Eligible candidates must be ASPET members within 15 years of receiving their doctorate and must be nominated by current ASPET members, ensuring recognition of promising talent in the field.

The Dolores C. Shockley Poster Awards recognize outstanding postdoctoral scientists in pharmacology, honoring Dr. Shockley's legacy as the first African-American woman to chair a pharmacology department. Established in 2010 by ASPET, these awards support researchers overcoming systemic barriers in their careers. Eligible applicants must be ASPET members and present their work at the ASPET Annual Meeting, with prizes awarded for excellence in research. This initiative aims to promote diversity and excellence in pharmacology.

The Dolores C. Shockley Poster Awards honor Dr. Dolores C. Shockley, the first African-American woman to earn a PhD in pharmacology. Established by ASPET in 2010, these awards promote diversity in pharmacology and are presented annually at the ASPET Student/Postdoc Poster Competition. Eligible applicants include undergraduate, graduate, post-baccalaureate, and postdoctoral students who are members of underrepresented groups in biomedical sciences. Awards range from $100 to $300 based on competition placement.
