John-Elizabeth Blaho Miller Fund

The John-Elizabeth Blaho Miller Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation was created to provide scholarship assistance for students, with a preference for students who have an awareness and appreciation of Hungarian culture, including its history, customs, and traditions, and who are undertaking a theological education in preparation for a ministry that draws upon Lutheran teachings in its worldview. John C. Miller was born in Budapest October 1910. In 1921 he immigrated to the United States with his parents (John Miller and Elizabeth Blaho Miller) where they resided in Ambridge, PA. For several years John was the manager of five motion picture houses owned by the Chateau Amusement Company. In 1955 he became a program supervisor at Buhl Planetarium where he retired at the age of 67 in 1977. In December 2001 John established this scholarship in memory of his parents.

American Academy of Periodontology Foundation

Mission Statement

The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation serves to advance the specialty of periodontology and dental implant surgery through advocacy, research, and education.

The AAP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity and the only organization of its kind designed exclusively to serve the community of periodontal caregivers and patients.

International Resident Award

The AAPF International Resident Award was created by founding gifts from Dr. Irina F. Dragan and her patients at The Perio Studio, Boston, MA. Dr. Dragan is a former AAPF Awardee and current Board Member who completed her dental degree in Romania and her periodontal residency in US.

The applicants must be nominated by their Program Director. Applicants that demonstrate leadership and/or community service are encouraged to apply.

The Fenton Gregory Williams Scholarship, administered by the Center for Scholarship Administration, supports deserving students from Mecklenburg and Lunenburg Counties, Virginia. Eligible candidates must be enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. college or university and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. This scholarship can cover tuition, fees, books, and supplies. It is renewable for up to four years, provided recipients remain in good standing and continue to demonstrate financial need.

The LAM Foundation offers Pilot and Feasibility Research Awards aimed at fostering innovative research in lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). The Sandra Neiderhiser/Ligonier Valley BPW Scholarship Fund was established at The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to provide scholarships to high school seniors who have faced social, economic, or educational barriers due to systemic gender inequity, and who reside in the Ligonier area of Pennsylvania who plan to go on to higher education in the form of college or vocational/technical school.

Established by the family of Mr. Conaty to provide a college or post-secondary degree program scholarship to a student from Blue Ridge, Elk Lake or Montrose Area School Districts, including home schooled students from those districts. Preference will be given to a student who will pursue a degree in business or a related field.

The Robert R. The AOFAS Resident Scholarship Program provides orthopaedic residents from the US and Canada the opportunity to attend the AOFAS Annual Meeting 2025 in Savannah, Georgia. Covering registration fees, lodging, and transportation, this program supports residents interested in foot and ankle surgery. Eligible applicants are PGY1, PGY2, or PGY3 residents who can attend the full program on September 10-11. This unique experience allows networking with leading surgeons and gaining insights into foot and ankle procedures.

The Wallace E. Pavlick Scholarship Fund, established by The Pittsburgh Foundation, supports members of the Parish of Triumph of the Holy Cross in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, who are pursuing higher education.
