BHFSA Community Impact Grants

Small organizations do big things and are incredibly valuable in our community. Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio recognizes this and provides Community Impact Grants of up to $12,000 to support smaller initiatives and organizations that have a large impact on community health.

Specific Grant Requirements

• The organization must have had less than $250,000 in actual revenue during the most recently completed fiscal year (Churches are exempt from this requirement);
• The organization must have an annual operating budget of at least $15,000 (for the fiscal year that includes July 1, 2026);
• The application amount must not exceed 20 percent of the organization’s total actual revenue in the most recently completed fiscal year;
• The application amount must fall in the range of $3,000-$12,000; and
• Organizations that received a Community Impact Grant in the most recent grant year may apply, but preference will be given to organizations that have not recently received funding from the Foundation.

Regions Matching Gifts for Recent Retirees

Retirees of Regions and its affiliated companies are eligible for the Matching Gift Program for up to 5 years after retirement (the gift date must be within the first 5 years of retirement). Regions will match donations of $25 or more, up to a total of $1,000 per year per retiree.

The Upland Game Bird Stamp Fund Research Grant, offered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, invites research proposals focused on upland game bird conservation. With up to $600,000 available for the FY 26–27 biennium, this grant encourages collaborative projects addressing specific research priorities. Eligible applicants include universities and non-profit organizations, with a preference for proposals that leverage existing datasets. This initiative aims to enhance management practices and support sustainable habitats for upland game bird species in Texas.

The Best Life Community Awards, funded by Altra Foundation Inc, invites nominations for nonprofit organizations that have made a significant impact in their communities. Altra members can nominate eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits they support with their time, talents, or financial contributions. The selected nonprofit will receive a $10,000 grant, aimed at fostering initiatives in education, health, and community services across specific counties in the U.S. Nominate today to help recognize outstanding contributions!

The Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation is dedicated to empowering communities in Central Texas, specifically Taylor, Hutto, and Georgetown. Through the Anna+Anton Grant, we support nonprofits addressing immediate operational needs and fostering long-term capacity building. Eligible organizations must directly serve women and girls in specified locations, demonstrating measurable impacts and sustainability beyond funding.

The Hancock Whitney Opportunity Grant, in collaboration with the Greater New Orleans Foundation, invites applications from eligible nonprofits starting October 7, 2025. This grant aims to enhance capacity building and sustainability for organizations focused on food insecurity, workforce development, and youth programs. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations serving low to moderate-income communities within Hancock Whitney's service areas, fostering impactful changes with AmeriCorps support.

The Fund for Veterans' Assistance (FVA) offers General Assistance Grants to support veterans and their families in Texas. With $50,000 grants for housing and workforce programs, and a $100,000 grant for veterans' services, this award aims to empower organizations that provide essential entrepreneurial resources to help individuals launch and grow sustainable businesses, ultimately benefiting low- and moderate-income communities.

The Housing Solutions Honors Award, provided by the Texas Capital Foundation, aims to support nonprofits focused on enhancing housing stability and generational wealth through education and planning. The award offers two grants of $50,000 and one of $100,000, specifically targeting organizations that assist low- to moderate-income families, veterans, and first responders. Eligible nonprofits must have a proven record of service in Texas and comply with specific funding criteria.

The Star Honors Award, offered by the Texas Capital Foundation, recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in Texas focusing on Housing Solutions, Education, and Workforce Development. It provides two grants of $50,000 and one grant of $100,000 to support innovative programs addressing critical community needs, especially for veterans and first responders. Eligible nonprofits must demonstrate a minimum three-year performance record and deliver direct services to low- and moderate-income populations within designated Texas areas.

The Forever Austin Fund Grant offers support for urgent and systemic needs in Central Texas, focusing on economic mobility, health, and environmental sustainability. Through collaborative efforts, grants will be awarded to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations, with amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. This fund aims to empower communities by addressing barriers and fostering long-term growth, with a commitment to improving health outcomes and preserving natural resources. Applications are welcome from diverse organizations serving the Central Texas region.

Fellowship for Equitable Development

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition matches top-level graduate degree students with premiere community development organizations.

NCRC is looking for fellowship projects that move the needle on housing, small business development, and workforce development. Projects may directly result in community outcomes in these focus areas, or involve work with community members to create plans or project pipelines that will solve local issues in these areas.

The NCRC Fellowship cultivates the next generation of community development leaders and empowers them to tackle the issues of tomorrow. The community development sector will face significant challenges in the coming decades from climate change, widening wealth gaps, food insecurities, extreme housing shortages and other needs. These challenges will disproportionately impact low-wealth communities and communities of color. Therefore, it is NCRC’s intention and pledge to uphold the values of community empowerment in the fellowship program.
