About The Foundation

The Coshocton Foundation was created in 1967 through a $685,000 bequest from Adolph Golden, a prominent Coshocton merchant and harness racing enthusiast. The foundation originally was a single fund from which all grants were made.

In 1989, the late Edward and Frances Montgomery gave broader giving a significant boost by establishing a challenge fund that would match gifts to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund. The fund was set up to match a maximum of $500,000 over a period of ten years. 

The Special Needs Grant, provided by Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA), offers financial support to Active Duty members facing increased financial demands due to dependents in the Coast Guard Special Needs Program. Eligible members can receive up to $3,000 every 60 months for various services and resources tailored for special needs, including adaptive equipment and membership fees for relevant organizations. FY2027: MassLINKS — Adult Education Virtual School

The purpose of this continuation grant is to support a statewide Adult Education Virtual School (AEVS) system branded as MassLINKS. All ABE and ESOL services must be delivered virtually.

The MassLINKS provider will recruit, intake, orient, enroll, instruct, assess, advise, and offer supportive services/post exit follow up to adult learners who are not served by programs currently funded by ACLS and/or whose need for services are not met by programs currently funded by ACLS.

Priorities:

The MassLINKS provider will:

• deliver a program design which includes synchronous and asynchronous instruction
• serve the targeted enrollment of 780 learners (330 — ABE, 450 — ESOL) on a monthly basis encompassing the 16 local workforce development areas
• assist eligible individuals in attaining a secondary school credential and transition to postsecondary education and training through career pathways
• assist eligible individuals to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency
• assist individuals who are English language learners— improving their reading, writing, speaking, and comprehensive skills in English including mathematical skills
• assist eligible individuals who are parents or family members to a) obtain the education and skills that are necessary to become full partners in the educational development of their children and b) result in sustainable improvements in the economic opportunities for their family
• reduce disparity in education by providing, in collaboration with WIOA partners and others, high-quality adult education programming that provides an inclusive and welcoming environment, rigorous curriculum and instruction, and related learner support services

Approximately $3,000,000 available.

FY27 Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program: Targeted Implementation Grant

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is offering a targeted grant to continue implementation support for a cohort of districts in Year 2 of Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program implementation. Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs (RTAPs) in Massachusetts are innovative pathways into teaching designed to build a diverse and effective teaching workforce that reflects the rich cultural backgrounds of our students. At the heart of RTAP is a commitment to providing equitable opportunities for aspiring educators, particularly those from underrepresented communities, to enter the teaching profession for little to no cost.

RTAP offers a new pathway to earning an Initial license in Massachusetts. RTAP integrates on-the-job training with academic coursework, allowing participants to earn while they learn. This hands-on approach ensures that apprentices gain practical classroom experience under the supervision of experienced educators while simultaneously completing the requirements for Initial licensure.

Approximately $1,750,000 is available for this grant.

The Next Generation – Southern Delaware Grant, established by young professionals, focuses on addressing social challenges in Kent and Sussex Counties. With over $100,000 awarded since 2013, the 2023 grant priorities include addiction treatment, family services, and homelessness prevention. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Delaware, ensuring programs enhance quality of life without discrimination. Proposals should be proactive and future-oriented, emphasizing prevention and education in addiction services.

The John M. Ross Foundation offers program grants aimed at supporting 501(c)(3) charitable organizations on the Big Island of Hawaii, specifically targeting teens aged 11-18. Priority is given to initiatives that cater to those with higher needs and limited access to resources. Key areas of interest include arts, education, health, and community services. Eligible programs must benefit local teens and can accept fiscal sponsorships, ensuring impactful outreach to those in need.

Santa Fe Ten Memorial Grant Program

The purpose of this grant program is to provide a grant to the Santa Fe Ten Memorial Foundation to assist in the creation of a memorial that remembers and honors those who died, and all individuals impacted on May 18, 2018, by the Santa Fe High School shooting.

The Truliant Foundation offers the Fred J. Sarda Scholarships, providing $1,500 each to qualified applicants. Established in 1996, this program has awarded over $265,000 to more than 250 high school seniors who are members of a North or South Carolina credit union. Eligible candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be first-time college students enrolled full-time for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The Truliant Foundation Scholarships, established in 1996, have awarded over $265,000 to more than 250 high school seniors pursuing higher education. The Clyde Padgett Scholarship specifically offers $2,500 to eligible applicants who are members of a North or South Carolina credit union, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and enroll as full-time students in the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative supports first-time college students, including dependents of Truliant employees.

The Truliant Foundation Scholarships, established in 1996, have awarded over $265,000 to more than 250 high school seniors pursuing higher education. These scholarships, funded by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, are open to members of any credit union in North and South Carolina, supporting both academic and needs-based candidates, including first-time college students and high school seniors. Eligible applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and enroll as full-time students.

The ANSWER Scholarship, offered by the College Foundation of North Carolina, provides financial support ranging from $2,750 to $5,500 for nontraditional female students aged 25 and older who are mothers of school-age children. This scholarship aims to enhance access to higher education in North Carolina, helping eligible women pursue their academic goals at both two-year and four-year institutions. It serves residents of specific counties, promoting educational advancement for families.

Gerald C. Bulkeley Scholarship Fund 

The Gerald C. Bulkeley Scholarship Fund was established by his family to honor his legacy of service to the Abingdon community. A graduate of Abingdon High School, Mr. Bulkeley was dedicated to supporting young people through civic and educational leadership.

This scholarship is available for students attending school in District 276 and residing within the boundaries of former District 217. The student will receive the scholarship award each year for four years.

The McMillen Family Foundation Grant aims to support non-profit organizations in Southern California focused on treatment, prevention, and education regarding alcohol and drug dependency. Prioritizing nonprofits with proven track records, the Foundation provides funding for activities beyond government support, with grants up to $50,000 for new applicants. The Foundation also offers technical assistance and collaboration opportunities to enhance the impact of its grantees in the community.
