About Foam Recycling
The process to recycle foam is like that of other recyclables. In the case of foam products, a special compactor – called a “densifier” – may be used in the processing of the material. Foam products are over 90% air, so densifying it allows the material to be transported more cost-effectively. To give you an example, a 48-foot truckload of baled foam polystyrene weighs only around 16,000 pounds, whereas a truckload of densified foam polystyrene weighs 40,000 pounds.
Innovative alternatives are being developed and deployed that are categorized as chemical recycling (vs. mechanical recycling). This will take the plastic resin back to its base state – in the case of foam PS, back to a styrene monomer. With chemical recycling, increased organic contamination will only impact the amount of foam for recovery (yield), but will not impact the recyclability of the plastic.
Foam Recycling Coalition Grant Program
Funding Source: Funding for the grant program comes from contributions from members of the Foam Recycling Coalition, a special interest group of the Foodservice Packaging Institute.
Grant Amounts: Funding amounts will be made on a case-by-case basis and will be dependent on equipment needs. The maximum amount per grant is $50,000.
Cash Match: No cash match is required, but additional costs by the grantee may be incurred for related items such as site preparation, provision of conveying system and electrical infrastructure, freight, and other installation costs.

Solar Moonshot Program Grant
The Solar Moonshot Program is helping nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy.
Grants up to $25,000 are typically awarded, with grant amounts dependent on various factors, including the organization’s need for funding.
In addition to grants given through the program, we also offer short-term, low-interest recoverable grants to help cover the project costs offset by the Investment Tax Credit.

Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Scholarships
The Foundation Scholarships are merit-based and awarded to qualified students with a consideration of financial need. All recipients shall be in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and as described by the respective scholarship criteria. Most scholarships are for one year, non-renewable unless otherwise indicated in the award description.

The APA supports the professional development of philosophers at all levels and works to foster greater understanding and appreciation of the value of philosophical inquiry.
APA: Nicholas Rescher Prize
The Prize winner will receive a $1,000 award upon delivering the prize lecture. If travel funding presents a financial hardship to the selected winner, and if funds in the Prize endowment are, in the APA’s sole discretion, sufficient to do so, up to $1,000 in travel funding may be provided.
The Nicholas Rescher Prize Lecture will be published in the Proceedings and Addresses of the American Philosophical Association or any other publication where the APA regularly publishes the other prize lectures. The Nicholas Rescher Prize winner will be recognized by a letter and certificate from the APA, the usual APA announcement of prizes, and appropriate recognition in an APA prize reception.
Nature of the Prize
Winners of the Prize will have made substantial, outstanding contributions to systematic metaphysics, broadly construed, during the course of their careers. The Prize winner must agree to present a lecture (to be named “The Nicholas Rescher Prize Lecture”) on a topic in systematic metaphysics, broadly construed; the lecture should be accessible to a broad philosophical audience. The lecture will be presented at an APA divisional meeting, normally a meeting within one year following the selection of the Prize winner. The lecture will be presented biennially, and will rotate among the divisional meetings on a regular schedule set by the APA.
Nominations
Any APA member may nominate any other APA member for the Nicholas Rescher Prize; self-nominations are not permitted. Nominations must include a brief statement of support from the nominator.

Dollar Tree Gift Card Program 2026
Every Kindness is a Gift is a gift card grant program made possible through the generosity of Dollar Tree and managed by the team here at Gift Card Bank. We are a nonprofit organization that specializes in the distribution of gift cards and our mission is to improve well-being and build financial stability by supporting people through their time of need.
Through Every Kindness is a Gift, nonprofit organizations and Title I schools located in the 48 contiguous states may apply to receive a grant of Dollar Tree gift cards.
Gift cards received through these grants are meant to be distributed directly to individuals and families in need. A primary goal of the program is to give gift card recipients the dignity of choice by empowering them to shop for what they need themselves. By putting gift cards directly in the hands of our neighbors in need, we are able to increase access to essentials like food, school supplies, paper products, cleaning products, and hygiene items.
In 2026, there will be two rounds of grant distributions. In each round, we will award a number of grants between $2,500 and $10,000.
Round One is a summer distribution. Gift cards awarded in Round One will arrive in late June, while kids are on break and back-to-school is around the corner. Round Two is a holiday distribution. Gift cards awarded in Round Two will arrive in early November, as the end-of-year holidays approach.
We know that these are times of year when budgets are tight. Through these gift card grants, we hope to connect individuals and families directly to the essential resources they need during difficult months.

Dog and Cat Sterilization Program (DCSP)
Three Plates, One Purpose
Dog and cat overpopulation is a tragic problem that affects all areas of Georgia. Each year, thousands of healthy, friendly dogs and cats are euthanized because of overpopulation. Spaying and neutering of dogs and cats helps reduce this problem. Since this program began, thousands of sterilization procedures have been performed by Georgia veterinarians benefiting from the DCSP grant.
Currently, funds for the program are raised by the sale of the three dog and cat license plates shown above. You can get your spay/neuter tag through your local tag office, or make a contribution by checking the box on your Georgia Tax return. The fastest way to put your money to work helping our dog and cat population is to contribute directly by clicking the "Donate" button located on this webpage.
The DCSP grant does not give money to individuals. Licensed rescues, local government animal shelters, and veterinary medical foundations are eligible to apply for the grant. In turn, individuals may apply to the grant recipients for assistance with spay/neuter procedures. Please encourage your local shelter and/or rescues to apply for the next grant application when it opens.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) manages the Dog and Cat Sterilization Program. In 2003, the Georgia General Assembly created the Dog and Cat Reproductive Sterilization Support Program to subsidize spaying and neutering of dogs and cats, resulting in the DCSP program.
William L. & Mary Ann Brown STEM Endowment Scholarship Program
The William L. & Mary Ann Brown STEM Endowed Scholarship Program was established by William L. and Mary Ann Brown to provide need-based scholarship support to seniors graduating from a high school in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, enrolled at a UNCF member institution, four-year HBCUs, and four-year institutions.
Successful applicants must be graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college, pursuing a STEM degree, including, but not limited to, fields in physical sciences, mathematics, the biological sciences, the chemical sciences, computer sciences, and engineering. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student.

GREAT Health Program
Description
Georgia’s Rural Enhancement And Transformation of Health (GREAT Health) program will bring about a transformation of health in rural Georgia. Achieving this vision means rural populations are healthier, live longer, have an improved quality of life, and can both live and work in the communities they love; rural places have healthcare that is high quality, more abundant, more accessible, and more effective; and rural progress creates systems-level change that leverages technology, drives innovation, and improves quality, while maintaining a patient focus.
The GREAT Health program will do this through five initiatives:
Who Can Participate?
Georgia has 126 rural and partial rural counties designated as the program’s areas of focus, based on the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) rural grants eligibility analyzer. Healthcare facilities and organizations serving these counties will be eligible to apply for funding through the program’s initiatives. Visit the list of eligible counties.
In addition to the 126 eligible rural and partial rural counties, 93 hospitals serving these rural areas and with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) designations of Critical Access Hospitals, Sole Community Hospitals, or Rural Referral Centers, were invited to participate in Initiative 1 and its associated value-based care model. Improving Metastatic Prostate Cancer (mPCa) Care Through Innovative Strategies
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® and Pfizer Global Medical Grants (Pfizer) are collaborating to offer a new grant opportunity seeking proposals for investigator-initiated research to improve mPCa care. Pfizer (hereafter, “Grantor”) is providing $1 Million in funding to support quality improvement studies to advance health care quality, the delivery of quality care, and improve health care provider performance in mPCa care. The Grantor will serve as the funding organization. Grants are available to all investigators from institutions within the United States.
Aim
To promote the advancement of scientific knowledge, health care provider performance, and/or health care quality improvement focused on improving mPCa care.
A total of $1 Million is available to fund all projects. The intent is to fund 2-5 studies. There is a funding cap of $250,000 per study. Exceptional studies with budgets above this amount will be considered based on scientific merit and must contain a robust justification. All budgets must include line-item information and robust justification.
Implementing Germline and Somatic Testing for Precision Medicine in Community-Based Prostate Cancer Care
The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to invite organizations to submit applications to host a 2.5-to-3 hour medical education program at or nearby the organization, to be led by 1-2 Visiting Professors (VPs) with expertise matched to the organization’s unmet educational and pragmatic needs related to integrating and acting on germline and somatic (tumor and/or ctDNA) testing for patients with prostate cancer. Following the education program, organizations will implement their action plan to incorporate, increase, or improve the use of guideline-concordant germline and somatic testing to improve prostate cancer patient care.
The total budget for the RFP is $250,000 USD, with plans to support 5-7 organizations. Individual project budgets should not exceed $50,000 USD.

Initiative 3: Connecting to Care to Improve Healthcare Access Strategy: Point-of-Care Telepods
Description and Purpose of Funding
A Care to Consumer Point-of-Care Telepod (POC Telepod) is a self-contained, soundproof healthcare station with live audio, video and technology to assess vital signs, health history and current health issues and evaluate physical and mental conditions.
Through real-time connectivity, licensed clinicians will provide non-emergent telehealth services for the purpose of prescribing medication or instructing other appropriate medical care.
These stations will serve as a new service line allowing patients to connect with licensed clinicians for primary care services without needing an appointment.
Funding is approved to support the acquisition and placement of POC Telepods in rural communities intended to provide increased access to primary healthcare services.
Specifically, the placement of POC Telepods should increase access to care in areas of the community with limited accessibility and reduce inappropriate utilization of emergency departments for non-urgent, non-emergent patients.
This funding opportunity is available to rural hospitals in Georgia serving the 126 rural/partial rural counties defined as the eligible rural area under the GREAT Health Program. Hospitals previously submitting a signed Letter of Intent for Achieving Healthcare Efficiency through Accountable Design (AHEAD) model pre-implementation to the Georgia Department of Community Health will receive priority in the application process.

The Woodrow and Esther Tyrell Technical Scholarship honors the legacy of Benjamin Woodrow Tyrell and Esther Tyrell, whose lives reflected a strong commitment to hard work, service, and education. Born in Talmage, Kansas, Woodrow Tyrell served in World War II before returning to Dickinson County, where he worked for 33 years at the Abilene Flour Mill. Esther Tyrell, originally from Longford, Kansas, dedicated her career to education in Dickinson County. Married in 1952, the Tyrells believed deeply in the value of education and skills-based training.
