Who We Are

The Creag Foundation is a private grant making foundation established in 2009 in Woodinville, Washington.

The founders of the Creag Foundation believe that meaningful change can only be achieved through hard work, creativity and passion. They also understand the practical mechanisms that allow charitable organizations to succeed and grow. As a group, Creag Foundation principals are dedicated to helping today’s most innovative programs improve the human condition in a wide variety of ways.

Our Focus

The broad purpose of the Foundation is to support the efforts of nonprofit organizations who are innovators in the field of human services. Our particular focus is on smaller organizations that are starting out or established organizations that are looking for funding to take their organization in a new direction.

What We Fund

The Creag Foundation is focused on innovation in the industry. We will consider proposals from 501(c)(3) organizations that are finding new ways to address societal issues facing the nonprofit community. Applicants must have held 501(c)(3) status for one year before submitting. If your organization has held 501(c)(3) status for over a year, and your believe that your organization has a new approach to an existing social problem or is addressing a previously unaddressed social issue, you are welcome to contact us and request that we consider your organization for a funding opportunity.

Background

Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation seeks to dramatically improve the lives of underserved communities across the globe by supporting scalable, innovative, and impact-first solutions that leverage existing systems and stakeholders. Our goal is to find social entrepreneurs with dynamic products or services that have a proven ability to positively impact the lives of underserved people, and nurture those organizations at the early stages by providing capacity, capital, and community.

Our application process is designed to be open and accessible, and we accept applications year round from across our priority geographies and sectors. Borrowing from our venture capital legacy, we find exceptional entrepreneurs and provide them with: 

Capacity

• The core of DRK’s model is deep and extensive operational and technical support for each portfolio organization, both through dedicated hands-on Board service and specialist capacity-building resources for fundraising, board and organizational development, leadership, financial support, and scaling strategy,

Capital

• DRK provides up to $300,000 USD in either unrestricted grant funding or investment capital over a three-year period, and

Community

• DRK convenes our portfolio and alumni annually, facilitating connections and community. 

What We Fund

DRK Foundation funds early-stage social impact organizations solving the world’s biggest social and environmental problems using bold, scalable approaches.

What stage of growth does DRK Foundation typically fund?

Early stage: Organizations who are early stage, which we define as post-pilot and pre-scale. This typically means: 

• Your program, product or service is already being used in the market or in the field, 
• You have early indication that your model is having its intended impact on the beneficiary populations,
• Your organization is relatively young (ideally between two and five years old, although we will consider both younger and older organizations).

Venture funding: In the case of for profits, we typically support Seed to Series A organizations, and never lead rounds; we also generally but not exclusively refrain from participating in financings exceeding a $15M USD post-money valuation.

Roberto C. Goizueta, chair and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company from 1981 to 1997, founded The Goizueta Foundation in 1992. The Foundation’s six shared values were inspired by Mr. Goizueta and were attributes often used to describe him. It is only fitting to tell his story through the lens of those values.

Mission

The mission of the Hearst Foundations is to identify and fund outstanding nonprofits to ensure that people of all backgrounds in the United States can build healthy, productive and satisfying lives. Through its grantmaking, the Hearst Foundations support well-established nonprofit organizations that address significant issues within their major areas of focus—culture, education, health and social service—and that primarily serve large demographic and/or geographic constituencies. In each area of funding, the Foundations seek to identify those organizations achieving truly differentiated results relative to other organizations making similar efforts for similar populations. The Foundations also look for evidence of sustainability beyond their support.

Whether providing a scholarship to a deserving student, supporting a rural health clinic or bringing artists into schools so children can see firsthand the beauty of the arts, the Foundations’ focus is consistent: to help those in need, those underserved and those underrepresented in society. Since the Foundations were formed in the 1940s, the scale and capabilities of the grant making have changed, but the mission has not.

Culture Grant

The Hearst Foundations fund cultural institutions that offer meaningful programs in the arts and sciences, prioritizing those that enable engagement by young people and create a lasting and measurable impact. The Foundations also fund select programs nurturing and developing artistic talent. Supported organizations include arts schools, ballets, museums, operas, performing arts centers, symphonies and theaters.

Funding Priorities in Culture

In the recent past, 25% of total funding has been allocated to Culture. Organizations with budgets over $10 million have received 60% of the funding in Culture.

The Hearst Foundations are only able to fund approximately 25% of all grant requests, of which about 80% is directed to prior grantees and about 20% is targeted toward new grantees.

The Labcorp Charitable Foundation

We believe every person deserves equitable care and education.

In 2020 Labcorp established a private charitable 501(c)(3) foundation to advance our desire to bring quality healthcare access to all by supporting education and our local communities. 

Common grant opportunities include:

• Supporting food pantries and meal programs
• Providing healthcare and patient services for underserved populations
• Encouraging STEM programming
• Advocating for healthy lifestyles through ongoing medical research and screening

Michael & Susan Dell Foundation Grants

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation only accepts unsolicited proposals for specific areas within the education, family economic stability and childhood health sectors in select countries where we work, namely the United States, India and South Africa.

As a guideline, the foundation does not fund more than 25% of a project’s budget or more than 10% of an organization’s total annual operating expenses.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has always recognized the power of providing grants to partner organizations that we knew were already working hard to improve the lives of urban children living in poverty. By aligning with organizations that are already making a difference, we continue to make an immediate impact on the lives of thousands of children.

Foundation priorities:

We fund social enterprises that directly serve or impact children or youth from urban low-income communities in the areas of education, health, and family economic stability (including livelihoods and financial inclusion). These social enterprises may be structured as for-profit or nonprofit entities.

Partnerships

We collaborate with a range of organizations focused on creating opportunities for children and families living in urban poverty, with a deep emphasis on measuring impact. Our funding advances projects already making an impact in education, health, and family economic stability. Through these enduring and long-standing partnerships, we create lasting change together.

Philanthropy is our commitment to communities in which we operate and broader society. We focus our resources on a limited number of key projects that can deliver valuable benefits from our contributions and those of our partners. We give priority to innovative, high-quality projects that meet the following criteria:

Mission

Driven by a philanthropic calling to support marginalized communities throughout the world, the Semnani Family Foundation partners with on-the-ground organizations and leverages its resources in a cost-effective and efficient manner that delivers the maximum benefit.

History

Guided by his grandmother Maliheh’s example and teachings, Khosrow Semnani and his wife Ghazaleh established the Semnani Family Foundation in 1993. The foundation’s first grant was issued through CARE International to an orphanage in Romania that cared for newborns affected by HIV. Over the last few decades, the foundation has continued to build upon its mission to empower the disaffected, partnering with a variety of organizations in different countries who can make the greatest impact.

In addition to its global influence, the Semnani Family Foundation established roots within the state of Utah with the founding of Maliheh Free Clinic in 2005 to provide free healthcare to thousands of uninsured people in the Salt Lake City area.

Every year we select and nurture a group of big, bold solutions to the world’s most urgent challenges, and with the support of an inspiring group of donors and supporters, come together to get them launched.

Every year, The Audacious Project works with proven change-makers to surface their best, boldest ideas for tackling global problems.

Sourcing & review

Projects are sourced from public applications and a global network of partners and donors. They are narrowed down to a group of finalists whose ideas are representative of a broad range of geographies and issue areas while elevating leaders with proximity to the communities they serve.

Idea shaping & investment support

Each finalist project goes through a rigorous ideation, due diligence, and investment support process, to ensure their proposal is achievable and compelling.

Funding & launch

Finalist projects are presented privately to groups of donors and are then publicly unveiled at TED. Funded projects then pursue their plans and share regular updates on key milestones reached with donors and the public.

  • There should be a sense of where you will be at the end of a multi-year funding term and the strategy, resources and timeline required to achieve it. We want to hear about the changes that would take place because of your idea, not just the components that go into implementing it.

  • You and your capable and confident team have the backing of a nonprofit, NGO, or institution (or is part of a collaboration between multiple such entities). This organization should be able to receive philanthropic funds and have the core infrastructure necessary to support the work. (Note: Past projects have had an annual operating budget of $1 million or more.)

We have strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations across the country that are working to advance economic mobility and social progress in low- and moderate-income communities. Our focus areas include basic needs like food and housing, workforce development and education, and community development. In addition to our philanthropic investments, we also encourage our employees to make a difference by offering robust employee giving and volunteering programs, including the opportunity to direct funds to organizations they support through volunteer efforts, and a matching gifts program that doubles their individual giving to causes they care about. Last year, we invested $350 million in the communities we serve, and employees contributed more than 1 million volunteer hours and directed $65 million through individual giving and matching gifts to support nonprofits.Through our regional U.S. sponsorships, we support the economic, social and cultural life of the places we live and work. TogetherATL supports equity strategies, with a focus on racial equity, to build a stronger, healthier region. Through community-informed grantmaking that emphasizes places and systems, we are working to secure prosperity for all who call Atlanta home. 

• Places: We recognize that every community is different; therefore, our strategy must be unique for each community, developed in partnership with residents to meet their needs. This effort involves listening to community voices and supporting people who live in specific places.
• Systems: In order to affect long-lasting change, we acknowledge the need to dismantle systems, policies and practices that have allowed exclusion and racism.

WORTH Grant

In an unprecedented partnership of business, civic, nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta amassed a coalition of support to create and preserve 6,000 homeowners of color in the five core counties: Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton and Gwinnett.

The WORTH Atlanta Homeownership Collaborative will work to:

• Create affordable homes for people historically precluded from homeownership
• Reduce the significant racial wealth gap

The Community Foundation, working closely with the City of Atlanta and dozens of nonprofits that support the region’s housing sector, has sought solutions for expanded homeownership for communities of color for many years, leading to this coalition of support and funding.

WORTH Atlanta Homeownership Collaborative Strategies: 

• Leverage an integrative ecosystem of local builders of color, nonprofit developers and large market producers.
• Invest capital resources for homeownership production and leverage the philanthropic community in parallel paths to maximize impact.
• Coordinate industry resources to streamline the homebuying process for households of color through the Homeownership Urban Blueprint (HUB), a one-stop shop for first-time homebuyers of color.
• Invest in the real estate industry to increase representation for people of color and expand diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
• Preserve homeownership for seniors and at-risk populations of color.

Mission

Fostering a metro-Atlanta region where all families are healthy and thrive. Our mission is to support highly effective organizations that emphasize preventive, comprehensive health opportunities and enhance access to health services for women and children in Clayton, Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties.

Funding PrioritiesResponsive GrantmakingThe Foundation considers funding requests that address programmatic or operating needs, organizational capacity building, and initiatives related to improving access to quality health care. The Foundation partners with organizations serving populations with limited financial resources in the five-county metropolitan Atlanta area (Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett and Clayton.) Proposals should address the following outcomes related to women and children::

• produce measurable results with the funding being requested,
• define groups who will benefit from services proposed, and
• explain how the defined groups will benefit in quantifiable terms.

Collaboration

The Foundation may periodically engage in collaborative activities to share collective impact on a specific issue. At the Foundation’s discretion, it will seek to collaborate with other funding partners to strategically align resources with others who share the Foundation’s commitment to improving health and expanding access to healthcare in the community. From time to time, the Foundation may consider supporting projects that include focused advocacy efforts and/or other strategies that attempt to address systemic challenges as part or all of a collaborative effort.

About the Foundation

Jesse W. Couch lived a life of zeal, honor, and dedication to the betterment of his community. The Couch family now humbly stewards the foundation he created to carry on his legacy of service for future generations. We believe that impact is best accomplished through partnerships with local organizations that know the people and communities they serve. We invest in and support efforts to protect the environment, further conservation and preservation initiatives, and save historical architecture that preserves community heritage. We also support initiatives that promote wellness and mental health and organizations seeking to provide and further education for all communities.

Annual Grant Focus

Each year, we seek to partner with and support non-profit organizations making an impact in the focus areas listed here.  The focus areas for 2025 are:

• Animal Wellbeing: We are dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations that nurture compassion and respect for all living animals. We must have animal-focused organizations that advocate for animal rights and provide humane treatment across all spectrums.

We take many different aspects of applications into account when making grant issuing decisions, however these are some of the high-level questions we ask ourselves during the process:

• How does the organization serve their key audience goals?
• Is the organization fiscally responsible?
• Will a grant have a tangible, meaningful impact?
• Will we see direct results from this grant?
• Does the organization have other financial contributors?

The Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation Vision

The Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation, "A Foundation for All", was established in 2002. It was begun in order to give a clear voice for those who wish to be a part of the many, worthy, forces for change in our world.

We are a foundation whose purpose is to look ahead towards the future, giving the past its due by remembering where we came from, and how much we can all accomplish together. We aim to make the critical difference on our planet by recognizing and having respect for our ever changing world. We respect all Life, the Environment, and all People, no matter who they are.

Georgia-Pacific Foundation

Established in 1958, the Georgia-Pacific Foundation sets aside resources to improve life in the communities where we operate. We’ve worked with thousands of outstanding community-based programs, service projects and disaster relief efforts, focusing our investment in four areas we believe make the most impact:

The Lawrence Foundation is a private family foundation focused on making grants to support environmental, human services and other causes.

The Lawrence Foundation was established in mid-2000. We make both program and operating grants and do not have any geographical restrictions on our grants. Nonprofit organizations that qualify for public charity status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or other similar organizations are eligible for grants from The Lawrence Foundation.  

Grant Amount and Types

Grants typically range between $5,000 - $10,000. In some limited cases we may make larger grants, but that is typically after we have gotten to know your organization over a period of time. We also generally don’t make multi-year grants, although we may fund the same organization on a year by year basis over a period of years.

General operating or program/project grant requests within our areas of interests are accepted. In general, regardless of whether a grant request is for general operating or program/project expenses, all of our grants will be issued as unrestricted grants.

Nordson Corporation Foundation

The Nordson Corporation Foundation awards grants to non-profits in our communities throughout the United States. Since 1989, the Foundation has awarded more than $60 million in grants to improve the quality of life in our communities, placing a special focus on causes related to education. Employees support the foundation by making donations during our annual A Time to Give Campaign, or by participating in a Community Affairs Committee (CAC). Committees review grant applications and vote to distribute Foundation funds to deserving local causes. During the last financial year, the Foundation gave out 362 grants totaling $6.3 million.

Nordson Foundation Giving Strategies

The geographic areas in which Nordson has major facilities determine the Nordson Foundation's giving priorities. Nordson continues to commit 5 percent of pretax domestic earnings for charitable purposes in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. Within these geographic areas, granting priorities are driven by community needs. Although needs change quickly, our vision is long term. We pursue and support results-oriented opportunities that prepare individuals for full and equal participation in the economic and social mainstream. We believe these kinds of programs help improve the quality of life over the long term and produce stronger, more enlightened communities in which we live and work. We strive to fulfill these responsibilities in our communities through contributions to charitable activities with a focus on education. Nordson Foundation Values 

In the spirit of our corporate founders, the Nordson Corporation Foundation continues to operate on the belief that business, as a corporate citizen, has a social responsibility to share its success with the communities where it operates and draws employees.  

The Nordson Foundation is dedicated to improving our communities by supporting the continuum of education from birth to adulthood in the belief that education is the key for individuals to become self-sufficient, productive members of society.  

To prepare individuals for economic independence, a variety of quality educational experiences are necessary. To be successful today, individuals not only need to master the basics, “reading, writing and arithmetic”, they must also know how to think critically and creatively. The Nordson Foundation offers support to non-profit organizations that cultivate educational curriculum and experiences that foster self-sufficiency, job readiness and goals to aspire to higher education. The Foundation is well aware of the fact that for non-profit organizations to remain viable they must receive operating support. With this in mind, Nordson Corporation Foundation does invest in general operating support.  

As stewards of the Foundation assets, the directors feel strongly that the organizations that are supported by the Foundation be able to measure the effectiveness of their mission and programs. Quantitative and/or qualitative data allows for the Foundation to ensure that the organizations it supports are bringing about the desired outcomes in our communities.

Nordson Foundation Funding Strategy

Through its grant-making, the Foundation supports organizations that directly or indirectly seek to maximize success before, during and beyond the traditional classroom years. Grants will be reviewed and considered on the basis of their enrichment to the communities where our employees live and work. Organizations and programs receiving grants will be expected to identify relevant, measurable outcomes to demonstrate the effectiveness of their programs.

Trusteed Foundations

In their concern for community wellbeing, the benefactors who established these foundations directed that available proceeds should be judiciously distributed to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations with demonstrable records of superior service in the fields of Leadership Development, Economic Mobility, Thriving Communities and Education.

Truist Bank provides trustee services to private and family foundations, including the six foundations detailed on this website. As stewards to the Truist Trusteed Foundations, we are happy to provide information about their grant guidelines and the application process in the Atlanta area.

Each proposal submitted is automatically considered for funding by the English, Marshall, Rich, Woolford, Elkin, and Greene-Sawtell foundations. Only one application form is needed to apply to all six foundations.

Florence C. and Harry L. English Memorial Fund

Harry L. English was the son of Capt. James Warren English, Mayor of Atlanta from 1882-1884. Capt. English gained prominence in Atlanta through the real estate business. Harry and his wife Florence built a house on West Paces Ferry Road across from the Governor's Mansion. The house still stands today. Harry died in 1937, and in 1964, The Florence C. and Harry L. English Memorial Fund was established to honor Harry and Florence.

Harriet McDaniel Marshall Trust

Mrs. Harriett McDaniel Marshall created this Trust in 1962 to honor her father, Sanders McDaniel, a Monroe, GA native and an Atlanta attorney. Mr. McDaniel was the son of former Governor Henry D. McDaniel (1883-1888), under whose administration the State Capitol Building in Atlanta was completed. Harriett married Rembert Marshall, one of her father's law partners.

Walter H. and Marjory M. Rich Memorial Fund

Walter H. Rich was the second president of Rich's department store (1926-1947), succeeding his uncle, Morris Rich, who founded the company as M. Rich & Bros. in 1867. Morris Rich changed the name to Rich's when a new store was built on the corner of Broad and Alabama Streets in downtown Atlanta in 1924. Both Morris and Walter as well as Daniel Rich, Morris' brother and Walter's father, are buried in Atlanta's historic Oakland Cemetery. The Walter H. and Marjory M. Rich Memorial Fund was established in 1959.

This Memorial Fund was established to make gifts to institutions which are members of a community fund, nonprofit hospitals, or are an institution which places emphasis upon the education and training of individuals and scholarship funds.

Thomas Guy Woolford Charitable Trust

This Trust was created under the will of Thomas Guy Woolford, a member of the family who founded Retail Credit Company (1899) which ultimately became Equifax Inc. This Trust was established to make gifts to institutions that are organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational or scientific purposes. Because of the family's ties to the Atlanta area, the Distribution Committee will give priority to charitable, religious, educational or scientific organizations in the metropolitan Atlanta area.

Nell Warren Elkin and William Simpson Elkin Foundation

The Nell Warren Elkin and William Simpson Elkin Foundation was created as a memorial by Miss Margaret R. Warren, Miss Charlotte L. Warren and Mrs. Josephine Warren Asbury, sisters of Nell Warren Elkin. The following charitable institutions were suggested by the Foundation's founders as worthy and valuable organizations. However, the Foundation's trustee is not required to make grants to these organizations and will entertain proposals from other organizations.

Greene-Sawtell Foundation

The Greene-Sawtell Foundation was established by Mr. Forest Greene and Mrs. Alice Greene Sawtell, who served as the first Advisory Committee. Under the terms of the document which established the Foundation, the advisory committee was created to select the charitable organizations which the Foundation would support. Truist Bank, as Trustee, now determines which charitable, religious and educational organizations will receive support from the Foundation. The Trustee considers organizations which the Foundation has supported in the past, those in which Mrs. Sawtell had a personal interest, and those which are of a similar nature to the organizations in which Mrs. Sawtell had an interest.

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation is an independent private foundation that seeks to help people in need in metro Atlanta, particularly children, by investing in education, health and economic opportunity.

Our Approach

We pursure our mission by responding to community needs, typically making grants to organizations with strong leadership and a broad base of support. The Foundation seeks to help organizations with the proven ability to meet ongoing needs stretch further than they could otherwise. Generally, the Foundation prefers not to be the principal funder for a project, but to participate with the community in supporting initiatives led by others. The Foundation will occasionally make leading grants when the need is great and the initiative is compelling.

The Foundation makes grant to qualified nonprofit organizations. Grants are typically awarded for capital needs, programs or other initiatives of well-established charitable organizations in the following program areas:

Early Childhood Education 

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation believes that quality early childhood education helps lay the foundation for children’s future success. It primarily invests in early learning through Smart Start at the United Way of Greater Atlanta, which works to improve the quality of care and education for all children ages birth through five.

The Foundation’s investments in early childhood education make up a significant part of our average grants portfolio (see graph). The Foundation provides annual support to Smart Start and occasionally considers grants to other organizations working to improve early childhood education in metro Atlanta.

K-12 Education

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation seeks to improve K-12 education at the state level and within Atlanta Public Schools. The Foundation believes that education is key to creating opportunity and ending generational poverty for children in our community.

The Foundation’s investments in K-12 education make up a significant part of our average grants portfolio (see graph). The Foundation supports organizations working to positively impact the academic success of students and to close the achievement gap.

Children & Youth

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation maintains a special focus on helping children and youth in need in Metro Atlanta. The Foundation works to strengthen child welfare in Georgia and to support the development of Atlanta’s youth into healthy, responsible and productive citizens.

The Foundation’s investments in children and youth make up a significant part of our average grants portfolio (see graph). We work with the State of Georgia to address challenges in child welfare, and we support the capital and capacity-building needs of youth development organizations in metro Atlanta.

Human Services 

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation supports well-established human services organizations that work to improve the quality of life for people in need in Metro Atlanta. The Foundation seeks to fund proven solutions to meet the needs of the region’s most vulnerable populations.

The Foundation’s investments in human services make up a significant part of our average grants portfolio (see graph). We support the capital and capacity-building needs of well-established, Atlanta-based human service organizations serving homeless and low-income individuals.

Health

The Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation seeks to strengthen the health safety net in Metro Atlanta. We place particular emphasis on improving health outcomes for children. The Foundation’s investments in health make up a significant part of our average grants portfolio (see graph). We typically make grants for capital projects or to build the capacity of Atlanta-based health organizations that effectively serve low-income families and underserved populations.

The Foundation is dedicated to providing financial assistance to organizations committed to improving our world. Solutions to the problems of today's world still lie in the values of innovation, practicality, hard work, and compassion.

The categories above are not intended to limit the interest of the Foundation from considering other worthwhile projects. In general, the Foundation guidelines are broad to give us flexibility in providing grants.

The majority of our grants are made in the U.S. However, like Dr. Scholl, we recognize the need for a global outlook. Non-U.S. grants are given to organizations where directors have knowledge of the grantee.

Impact100 Atlanta

Impact100 Atlanta is a diverse group of women committed to improving our community by collectively funding transformational grants to make a high impact and sustainable difference in Metro Atlanta. Although Impact100 is new to the Atlanta community, Impact100 Atlanta joins more than 70 sister chapters worldwide embracing the local collective giving model of Impact100.

Grant Process

Impact100 Atlanta awards grants to nonprofits in our community that address the focus area stipulated in our Eligibility Criteria. Eligible nonprofits may apply for grant funding. We recommend reading our eligibility criteria before proceeding.

The Grant Committees ultimately select five finalists, one in each focus area, to compete for the available Impact Grants at our Annual Meeting.

Community Partnership Award

The Mutual of America Foundation Community Partnership Award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good.

Each year, the Mutual of America Foundation sponsors a national competition in which hundreds of organizations demonstrate the value of their partnership to the communities they serve, their ability to be replicated by others and their capacity to stimulate new approaches to addressing significant social issues.

Six organizations are selected by an independent committee to receive the Community Partnership Award.

• The Thomas J. Moran Award is given to the national award-winning program and includes $100,000 and a documentary video about the program.
• The Frances R. Hesselbein Award is given to a partnership that is addressing social challenges in more than one community, or which demonstrates the potential to be replicated in other communities. This recipient receives $75,000.
• Four other organizations are named Honorable Mention recipients for their programs, and each receives $50,000.

Since its inception in 1996, the Community Partnership Award has recognized 262 partnerships from cities and towns across America. Like so many of our clients working in the nonprofit community, Mutual of America is dedicated to having a direct, positive impact on society.

Since its inception in 1951, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has focused on improving the lives of people throughout our region by giving to programs that help our communities thrive. Housing

In 2022, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta launched TogetherATL, a five-year strategic plan identifying four priority systems of focus, along with three priority neighborhoods. One of the systems highlighted is Housing and Neighborhoods. We believe that safe, stable and affordable homes are central to building stronger communities, and that an investment in affordable housing means better health, education and economic opportunities for Atlantans. 

2025 Housing Stability Grant

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is offering grants focused on Housing Stability for 2025, with particular emphasis on eviction prevention and services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Funding requests may include up to 30% of the applicant organization’s most recent annual expenses and should fall between $20,000–$50,000. Awards will vary in size based on the number of applicants and funds requested, as well as the quality of proposals.
