California Credit Union League: Network Awards

Each year, California’s Credit Unions and Nevada’s Credit Unions honor distinguished industry leaders and volunteers during the Leagues’ REACH Conference. 

Recognizes individuals and local Networks for their extraordinary impact and commitment to professional development, advocacy and collaboration in the Networks and the local community of credit unions. 

California Credit Union League: Distinguished Service Award

Each year, California’s Credit Unions and Nevada’s Credit Unions honor distinguished industry leaders and volunteers during the Leagues’ REACH Conference. 

Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award are honored for service to the credit union community outside the usual scope of employment at a credit union, and beyond the scope of their networks.

In just one application, our Common Scholarship Application provides students access to more than 150 scholarship opportunities with awards ranging from $1,000 to more than $5,000.

In 2025, San Diego Foundation awarded a record-breaking $5.5 million in scholarships to nearly 1,400 students.

Witt Matheny Scholarship

Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited community college or licensed career/technical school in California in fall.

Depending on the scholarship, it may pay for tuition, room and board, books, fees and/or other related educational expenses. This will be outlined in your award notification.

Cathy Hopper Memorial Scholarship

Cathy Hopper was a long-time educator and resident of San Diego County. She received her Master of Arts in Education from San Diego State University. She was a teacher in the social studies classroom of Gompers Middle School and then Taft Middle School. She became Vice Principal at Madison, then Patrick Henry High which she helped open. Cathy became Principal at Wright Brothers Career High, then Bell Jr. High and was the first Principal at University City High, being one of only two women high school principals at the time. Cathy then served as Assistant Superintendent of Operations for the San Diego Unified School District. She was one of the administrators during the tumultuous integration movement and worked tirelessly to allay fears and helped make for a peaceful transition. Upon her retirement, Cathy helped inaugurate the Aaron Price Fellows Scholarship Program.

This scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees room & board, and other educational expenses.

The scholarship may be renewable (depending upon available funds) for up to two years total, provided the student maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, good citizenship record, and continues to have financial need.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant for schools to implement the PLTW Biomedical Science program for the 2026-2029 academic years. Eligible schools can receive up to $14,000 to cover participation fees and training costs. This grant encourages public, private, and charter schools across the U.S. to enhance their science curriculum, supporting students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Schools must commit to offering specific courses during the grant period to qualify for funding.

The California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW), Clean Vessel Act Education and Outreach Grant Program provide grants to support programs that educate California boaters and increase public awareness about boat sewage management and proper disposal. The goal of this grant program is to reduce recreational boater sewage from being discharged into California waterways.

The DGLF Youth Literacy Grants, established by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, aim to enhance literacy among underperforming students in K-12. Organizations such as schools and libraries can apply for funding to implement or expand literacy programs, purchase necessary materials, and acquire technology. With over $159 million awarded to date, the foundation supports efforts that provide equitable education opportunities, ensuring every child has the chance to learn and succeed, regardless of their background.

Purpose

The California Air Resources Board is soliciting a Grantee for the implementation of the Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project with any appropriated and allocated funds from Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 with an option to renew the Grant Agreement for the following two years (FY 2027-28 and FY 2028-29).

Description

The California Air Resources Board (CARB or the Board) is soliciting a Grantee for the implementation of the Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) with any appropriated and allocated funds from Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 with an option to renew the Grant Agreement for the following two years (FY 2027-28 and FY 2028-29).

HVIP accelerates market transformation by incentivizing the purchase of zero-emission heavy-duty trucks and buses for California fleets, providing vouchers for purchasers and lessees for eligible vehicles on a first-come first-serve basis. HVIP provides increased incentives for fleets purchasing zero-emission vehicles located in disadvantaged communities with a goal of at least 50 percent of HVIP funding supporting vehicles domiciled in disadvantaged communities. In addition, HVIP incorporates a set-aside for transit vehicles.HVIP stimulates the development, deployment, and commercialization of advanced vehicle technology. These technologies are critical to help California meet its near- and long-term air-quality and climate-change goals. Additionally, the project benefits the citizens of California by providing immediate air-pollution and greenhouse-gas emission reductions. Appropriated and allocated HVIP funds will be administered and implemented through a partnership between CARB and a Grantee selected via this competitive solicitation. 

The Trauma Recovery Center Grant supports California organizations providing vital mental health and social services to survivors of violent crime. With an annual funding of $2 million from the Restitution Fund, this grant enables TRCs to offer comprehensive support tailored to individual needs, including clinical case management and trauma-informed treatment. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility for underserved victims, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support to aid in their recovery.

The State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2025-28 CDSS Removal Defense Grant aims to provide essential legal services to immigrants facing removal proceedings. Funded by the California Department of Social Services, this grant supports qualified nonprofit organizations in delivering these critical services. Eligible applicants must demonstrate capacity, staff qualifications, and organizational oversight to effectively manage the funding and expand their removal defense services. The program targets California-based nonprofits to address the needs of underserved communities.

Mission

To prevent and reduce Domestic Violence (DV) by accelerating the adoption, implementation, and impact of policy, system, and environmental (PSE) change strategies within California communities. 

Local Training and Education Program for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (DV)

Purpose

The California Department of Public Heath, Injury and Violence Prevention Program (CDPH/IVPB) is soliciting applications from eligible entities for its Domestic Violence Prevention (DVP) Program. The primary purpose of this Request for Application (RFA) is to implement local community organizing and/or public health policy, system, and environmental change efforts to increase public awareness of Domestic Violence (DV) and support community-led efforts to adopt and implement primary prevention strategies that improve the scope and quality of services provided to victims of DV.

The Competitive Personal Responsibility Education Program, funded by the US Department of Health & Human Services, aims to enhance educational projects for youth aged 10-19 and pregnant or parenting youth under 21. This initiative focuses on promoting abstinence and contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Projects must cover at least three adulthood preparation subjects, such as financial literacy and healthy relationships, to equip youth with essential life skills for successful transitions into adulthood.

Combating climate change is fundamental to maintaining California’s future. The agency’s research, programs and policies remain crucial today as the state plans for 100% clean energy and carbon neutrality by mid-century. California’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program – Solicitation 3

Purpose of Solicitation

This is a competitive grant solicitation. The California Energy Commission (CEC) announces the availability of up to $79,000,000 in grant funds for projects that will strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging stations with publicly accessible, high-powered, direct current fast chargers (DCFCs) to support lightduty EV travel along major corridors as required under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) formula program.

The Wetlands and Mountain Meadows Restoration program, funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, aims to restore wetlands and watershed ecosystems with a budget of up to $54 million. This initiative supports biodiversity, climate resilience, and public access while enhancing habitats as per the Natural and Working Lands Climate Smart Strategy. Projects are accepted on a rolling basis, emphasizing sustainable practices and cohabitation with wildlife, particularly beavers.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering the Wildlife Corridors – Nature Based Solutions Grant to fund projects enhancing ecosystem restoration and protection. With over $200 million available, this initiative supports connectivity projects that align with the State Wildlife Action Plan. Eligible applicants include tribes, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies, aiming to foster multi-benefit, nature-based solutions for wildlife corridors and habitat connectivity.

The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) Fund Grant, offered by the California Employment Training Panel, provides up to $2.7 million to train and certify electricians in installing electric vehicle charging equipment across California. This initiative aims to enhance the workforce's skills in a growing sector, ensuring economic competitiveness and job security within the state. The program represents a collaborative effort to support sustainable energy infrastructure and job creation in California.

The Arts & Youth Grant Program by the California Arts Council aims to provide equitable access to arts education and experiences for young people aged 0-25 across California. This initiative addresses barriers related to socio-economic status, geographic isolation, and identity, ensuring underserved communities receive support. The program encourages participation in culturally responsive arts activities, fostering community connections and creative engagement, ultimately nurturing culturally literate citizens.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP) invites proposals for regional fire science exchanges across nine designated regions in the U.S. This initiative aims to promote the sharing of fire science knowledge and practices over a two-year period. Eligible applicants can focus on regions including Alaska, Appalachians, Great Basin, North Atlantic, Northern Rockies, Northwest, Oak Woodlands, Pacific Islands, and Southwest. Proposals must be specific to one region.

The Department of the Interior's Wildland Fire Service Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP) invites proposals for the FLAMES award, aimed at master and doctoral students in wildland fire studies. This initiative enhances research relevance by connecting students with fire management practices, providing experiential learning opportunities, and fostering mentorship. Students will gain valuable insights into management and policy, preparing them for impactful careers in fire science. The program emphasizes peer-learning and professional development in the context of wildland fire management.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

The Tribal Multifamily Finance Super NOFA provides approximately $50 million in funding aimed at enhancing the living conditions of Indian communities. By facilitating flexible financial options, it seeks to address critical needs related to health, climate, and household stability. All applicants must engage in a pre-application meeting with the Department, and applications will be accepted on an over-the-counter basis until funds are exhausted.

The State-Local Partners (SLP) Grant Program offers essential operating support and technical assistance to county-designated local arts agencies in California. Through a collaborative effort between the State and counties, this program aims to promote cultural development at the local level. It encourages partnerships that enrich the arts across diverse communities, fostering creative expression and enhancing the quality of life for Californians. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and local government units.

The California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant aims to support public middle and high school sports programs facing funding challenges due to budget cuts. Established by California Casualty, this grant provides financial assistance for purchasing equipment and covering travel costs for competitions. Eligible applicants must be active employees of public schools and members of affiliated education associations. Awards cannot be used for individual student recognition or fundraising projects.

The CAL FIRE Forest Health Program aims to enhance the resilience of California's forests against wildfires, drought, and pests caused by climate change and land management practices. Funding supports large-scale projects focused on restoring forest health, protecting watersheds, and promoting carbon storage through reforestation. Grants range from $750,000 to $7 million, targeting projects that yield climate benefits and further state forest management goals.

California Indigenous artists from state-based tribes can receive professional development support to advance film and media careers through this opportunity, including curated online courses and yearlong access to Sundance Collab. Sundance Institute’s Graton Artist Opportunity may benefit museum-affiliated Native artists in California seeking to develop storytelling, film, or media projects connected to their work.

The Combined Pilot Research Grants from the Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) aim to fund innovative pilot research projects in hand and plastic surgery. With a budget of up to $15,000 for one year, this grant seeks to enhance scientific knowledge and clinical practices. Eligible applicants include MDs, DOs, or PhDs holding full-time positions in California, with a focus on advancing surgeon scientists and their research endeavors.
