South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association: Media Award
Presented to an individual or organization, the Media Award recognizes outstanding positive media promotion of the South Carolina fire service. Nominations must include an article, video, sound bite, poster, or any other form of media used to inform the public and include a measurable result as a result of the aforementioned news coverage. The award recognizes exceptional coverage of the fire service and is not presented yearly but on nominations of merit.
The Association’s award for Media shall be presented to a public media (television, radio, newspaper, magazine, website) for outstanding promotion of the Fire Service by presenting the Fire Service (Department) in a positive manner. The action taken by the media should positively impact both the local Fire Department and/or fire service and the public. Can be for an individual or media entity.
Nominee Criteria
All nominations must include an article, video, soundtrack, poster or any other media used to inform the public. There should be a measurable result from the actions taken by the media, such as, documented positive public opinion, reduction in fires, improved services, etc. This award is not intended for normal media coverage, but for exceptional coverage of the fire service in South Carolina.
