The Purpose Prize from AARP honors extraordinary older Americans who put their purpose into action to support AARP’s mission of empowering people to choose how they live as they age. Winners receive $75,000 and a year of organizational support from AARP to grow the impact of their nonprofits. Examples of organizational support include data and evaluation, governance and succession planning, fundraising strategy, and prospectus development.

The Education and Workforce Development Honors Award, administered by the Texas Capital Bank Foundation, is a competitive grant program that supports innovative nonprofit organizations in Texas. With $50,000 grants for housing and workforce programs, and a $100,000 grant for veterans' services, this award aims to empower organizations that provide essential entrepreneurial resources to help individuals launch and grow sustainable businesses, ultimately benefiting low- and moderate-income communities.

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is launching the 2025 Housing Stability Grant to support eviction prevention and services for individuals and families facing homelessness. Grants ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 will be awarded based on the applicant's needs and proposal quality. The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program offers grants to County departments, public agencies, and non-profit organizations for various community needs, including education, environmental awareness, and public safety. Eligible non-profits must focus on one or more specified areas, while public agencies can enhance community quality of life. Priority is given to capital projects and one-time expenses. Grant funds cannot be used for prohibited purposes such as religious activities or political campaigning.

The Alabama State University Anniston/Calhoun County Alumni Scholarship Fund aims to support African American graduating seniors from Calhoun County who plan to attend Alabama State University. Established by the ASU Alumni, this fund reflects a commitment to education and community enhancement. It provides one-time scholarships for students pursuing associate or bachelor’s degrees, or approved workforce training programs, ensuring they receive necessary financial assistance for their educational journey.

Cumberland Community Foundation ("CCF") manages more than 60 scholarship endowment funds created by local individuals, families, civic organizations, and corporations who want to provide a path to higher education for future generations. 

Each year, Cumberland Community Foundation announces more than $1,000,000 in college scholarships to students from southeastern North Carolina.

Cape Fear River Assembly Scholarship

Any high school or college student accepted/enrolled in a college in the Cape Fear River Basin. 

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is offering Local Climate Action Implementation Grants to support local jurisdictions in adapting to climate change and reducing their environmental impact. With approximately $1.3 million in funding available, these grants aim to facilitate planning and implementation projects that address extreme weather events and promote sustainable practices. St. Mary's Bank Charitable Foundation Community Support Grants aim to enhance community welfare by providing financial support to nonprofit organizations. With a commitment to 'people helping people' since 1908, the foundation focuses on areas like youth programming, homelessness, and civic support. In 2023 alone, they donated over $200,000 to 190 organizations, reflecting their dedication to improving lives in New Hampshire. They prioritize funding for nonprofits within their service areas, ensuring impactful contributions to local communities.

The NJ Soil and Water Conservation Grants, offered by the State Agriculture Development Committee, support up to 50% funding for soil and water conservation projects on preserved farms. Eligible projects include erosion control, water management, and sediment retention systems. Farmers must be enrolled in a farmland preservation program and complete projects within three years of funding approval. Priority is given to permanently preserved farms, ensuring that vital agricultural resources are maintained and enhanced for future generations.

YS27 Youth Suicide Prevention Continuation Solicitation

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Bureau of Health Improvement and Wellness, Violence and Injury Prevention Section, announces the availability of grant funds.

Policy and Procedures

The Continuation Funding Application consists of three parts: Program Updates(if applicable), Program Budget and Budget Narrative, and Other Required Attachments.

Number of Grants and Funds Available 

The federal Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Grant supports this grant. Up to six (6) grants may be awarded for a total of $532,200. Only funded applicants in year 3 (YS26) will be eligible to apply. This funding is for year 4 of this grant project, which will run Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026 - Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2027. The entire project period is Friday, March 1, 2024 - Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2027. If the Ohio Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not funded in the federal fiscal budget, ODH may be unable to fund the YS27 youth suicide prevention subrecipients. The funding for year 4 will be up to $76,300, with the option for up to two applicants to apply for Supplemental #1 to lead the state’s Youth Suicide Prevention coalition for $7,500 each, and all applicants to apply for Supplemental #2 funding to support local Suicide Fatality Review committees for up to $10,000 each.

The Quest Diagnostics Foundation is funding Priority Community Programs in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, aimed at improving health outcomes through coalition-driven solutions. This initiative focuses on chronic cardiometabolic conditions and maternal/child health, encouraging multi-sector collaborations and alignment with Community Health Needs Assessments. The foundation offers funding ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000 annually for 1 to 2 years, seeking applicants that demonstrate robust community partnerships and effective use of diagnostic resources.

Offshore Wind Science and Research RFP

Massachusetts remains committed to offshore wind as a key energy source to provide critically needed energy, spur economic development, and create good-paying jobs. MassCEC recognizes that offshore wind development occurs in a dynamic ocean environment that supports existing marine industries of economic and cultural importance, is inhabited by critically endangered wildlife, and is itself undergoing climate-induced changes. These variables, among others, present a wide range of technical, logistical, and analytical research opportunities related to the offshore wind industry, particularly now that several projects have or soon will reach commercial operation. Focused science and research activities, and the organizational capacity to conduct that science and research, are needed in the near- and long-term to inform, optimize, and catalyze industry growth.   

The 2026 RFP will fund up to $2.5 million for projects aligned with priority research areas identified by MassCEC. While a broad array of research projects will be eligible to apply, this round of funding has also specified topic areas of interest within each of the following categories:

• Fisheries: Understanding Effects in Southern New England Lease Areas
• Wildlife and Habitat
• Regional Transmission Planning
• Gulf of Maine Regional Monitoring
• Communicating Existing Science and Research

MassCEC has allocated up to $2.5 Million Dollars ($2,500,000) in funding for awards and commitments under the Solicitation. We expect that awards will range from approximately $50,000 to $500,000. An application proposing higher amounts of MassCEC funding must present a compelling case for the funding need and potential outcomes toward achieving the Objectives.

Hungry for Music

The Hungry for Music story began in 1992, when Founder and Director Jeff Campbell (in photo) organized a street musician concert to benefit the homeless. Within three years, he formed a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to expanding opportunities in music for children.

Since then, Hungry for Music has placed more than 27,000 instruments into the hands of aspiring musicians. Children whose trajectory has been altered by the uplifting and life-changing gift of music.

We've delivered everything from guitars and trombones to violins and xylophones to kids in 50 states and 35 countries.

We collect and redistribute more than 2,000 instruments annually and, in our 31-year journey, we've become a full-time force for good in the musical community.

Hungry for Music collects and distributes instruments including brass, woodwinds, strings, electric keyboards, drums and other percussion, as well as amps and accessories.

Who Hungry for Music Helps

• Music teachers at Title One schools who identify children who cannot participate because of lack of funding.
• Music directors at innovative after-school music programs.
• Social workers who have young clients who would benefit from music therapy.

We only accept requests from public school music teachers, administrators, after-school/summer music program directors, and social workers. 

In our history, we have supported music programs in 40 different countries through stateside sponsors (i.e. business, school, church). We do not accept requests directly from international programs.

After-School & Summer Programs

Hungry for Music supports more than three dozen after-school/summer music programs annually across the United States. To be added to our distribution, a site visit is required.
