The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) helps landowners, land trusts, and other entities protect, restore, and enhance wetlands or protect working farms and ranches through conservation easements.

The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) protects the agricultural viability and related conservation values of eligible land by limiting nonagricultural uses which negatively affect agricultural uses and conservation values, protect grazing uses and related conservation values by restoring or conserving eligible grazing land, and protecting and restoring and enhancing wetlands on eligible land.

ACEP has two components:

• Agricultural Land Easements (ALE) help private and tribal landowners, land trusts, and other entities such as state and local governments protect croplands and grasslands on working farms and ranches by limiting non-agricultural uses of the land through conservation easements.

• Wetland Reserve Easements (WRE) help private and tribal landowners protect, restore and enhance wetlands which have been previously degraded due to agricultural uses.

Additionally, through ACEP, USDA offers the Wetland Reserve Enhancement Partnership (WREP), a voluntary program through which NRCS enters into agreements with eligible partners to leverage resources to carry out high priority wetland protection, restoration, and enhancement and to improve wildlife habitat.

The HEAL Initiative aims to combat the opioid crisis through action-oriented research that enhances the translation of addiction epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and recovery services into practice. It prioritizes scalable, evidence-based approaches targeting various levels, including individual and community. The initiative supports a range of methods for research deployment, emphasizing collaboration between researchers and decision-makers to improve outcomes for those affected by addiction and related chronic pain.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, our main goals are:

• Bear conservation: Our goal is to conserve all 8 species through diminishing negative interactions via educating the public, providing co-existence strategies, volunteering, partnering with organizations for rehabilitation efforts and giving these animals a voice.
• Habitat preservation: As our organization grows, we will have dedicated spaces of land for these creatures to roam unharmed along with the other animals that live there. As the family grows, so do the Bear Grounds.
• Promoting “bear-awareness”: Bears may look cute – but it is important to practice protocols to ensure the safety of everyone.
• Education: From children to the elderly, we make it our goal to teach everyone about these animals, the roles they play and the importance of bears. We published a children’s book for the kids to learn about bears in a fun and interactive way.

Bear Grounds Coffee Co. is providing its first award toward bear conservation with the Spectacled Bear Grant in 2026. This funding is for research, rehabilitation, spectacled bear or territory conservation efforts only. One applicant will receive $200 to support their project.

Eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

• Scientific research and field studies.
• Wildlife rehabilitation and rescue programs.
• Habitat protection and restoration.
• Community-based conservation initiatives.
• Anti-poaching and human–bear conflict mitigation efforts.
• Sustainable coexistence programs.

The Kars4Kids Small Grant Program aims to support educational initiatives globally, impacting the lives of children. This program welcomes applications from IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations focused on youth development, mentorship, and education. Grants typically range from $500 to $2,000, depending on mission alignment and available funds. Kars4Kids, a national Jewish nonprofit, is dedicated to nurturing productive community members through educational and mentoring opportunities.

The Sponsorship Grant Program by the Chesapeake Bay Trust aims to enhance public awareness of environmental issues related to the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland watersheds.
