The NYC Green Fund Grassroots Grant Program supports grassroots initiatives in NYC's parks and open spaces, promoting community engagement and environmental stewardship. Eligible applicants include community organizations with annual budgets under $175,000 that demonstrate a connection to the communities they serve. Grants can range from $1,000 to $40,000 for one- or two-year commitments, fostering equitable public green spaces across all five boroughs.

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley 

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley (CFHV) empowers individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to fulfill their philanthropic goals through the establishment of charitable funds that support the needs of Dutchess, Putnam and Ulster counties. With over $100 million in assets, CFHV manages nearly 600 charitable funds and has distributed more than $777 million in grants and scholarships since January 2000. We lead initiatives to address urgent community needs such as food insecurity and educational challenges, offering both immediate relief and long-term support.

Ulster County Community Grant

The Community Foundations Community Grant Program is an annual opportunity to provide nonprofits with unrestricted General Operating Support (GOS). GOS grants are flexible and allow funds to support an organization’s ongoing administrative and infrastructure costs and to provide support to maintain existing, effective programs, organizational development and capacity building in Dutchess, Putnam and Ulster Counties.

Funding Focus

Funding will support a broad variety of organizations and programming, including: effective and innovative programs in the areas of human services (food security, mental house, housing), arts and culture, education and youth, health, the environment and civic affairs. Funding will have a focus on benefiting people who are from historically marginalized and under-funded communities or populations based on their race, ethnicity, age, gender/gender identity, socioeconomic status, health status, abilities or geographic location.

General Operating Support grants will provide unrestricted support to the organization but can include specific support such as:

• Planning and/or the direct implementation of the program
• Technology, equipment, or material costs
• Strategic planning, staff/board development and/or succession planning
• Management systems (financial, HR)
• Marketing and communications
• Investments to increase organizational capacity

The Community Opportunity Fund: Resilience Grant, offered by Boreal Waters Community Foundation, supports transformative projects in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. It aims to enhance community resilience by funding initiatives that foster adaptation and recovery from challenges. Eligible applicants include established nonprofits and grassroots organizations focused on equity and sustainability. The grant emphasizes collaborative solutions that address pressing issues like housing stability and food security, ensuring a lasting impact for historically marginalized communities.

The John William Pope Foundation provides annual grants focusing on human services and the arts, primarily in North Carolina's Wake and Vance Counties. Established in 1986, the Foundation promotes self-reliance and community responsibility, funding initiatives that address critical social challenges. By prioritizing private resources over government funding, it fosters creative expression and supports nonprofits that empower individuals and families. The Foundation's mission is to ensure future generations have equal opportunities for success.

The Elizabeth Morse Genius Charitable Trust Grant focuses on grants that promote values-based initiatives addressing various community needs, particularly in Chicago and Cook County. It supports 501(c)(3) organizations that relieve human suffering, enhance self-esteem, and encourage athletic activities. The Trust emphasizes regional solutions to local challenges, ensuring that the quality of life improves for all citizens. Organizations outside the area may apply if they serve a significant number of Chicago residents.

Who We Are

Founded in 1996, the Community Foundation of South Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to making South Georgia a better place to live through effective philanthropy. We help individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and businesses establish and manage charitable funds that carry out their philanthropic interests. Serving a geographic area of 35 counties in South Georgia, we facilitate our donors’ charitable plans and goals by creating custom designed funds that meet their specific interests and ensure solid financial management and administration for each fund. 

Gaskins Environmental Scholarship

For graduating seniors from a high school located in South Georgia or college students who are currently enrolled in a college or university located in South Georgia and have attained at least a 2.5 GPA in high school or college.

High School student applicants must intend on majoring in Environmental Science. College student applicants must already be enrolled as an Environmental Science major. Environmental Science majors include but are not limited to Biology, Forestry, Wildlife or Botany. 

Awards are based on Academics, Leadership Qualities, Extracurricular School Activities, Community Service and Financial Need.

The Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) provides essential funding to cities, townships, and counties for housing, public infrastructure, and commercial rehabilitation projects. Aimed at benefiting low-and-moderate income households, SCDP enhances community viability by facilitating economic opportunities and improving living conditions. Administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), this program offers competitive grants for diverse development needs, with funding caps of $600,000 for single-purpose projects and $1.4 million for comprehensive initiatives.

The Impact100 Owensboro Residual Grant empowers women philanthropists by providing significant funding for transformative projects in the Greater Owensboro area. With a minimum grant size of $100,000, this grant supports initiatives in arts, education, family services, health, and environmental restoration. Organizations must demonstrate sustainability and community support while adhering to eligibility criteria, ensuring that funds are used effectively for community benefit. The residual grant amount varies yearly, allowing for flexible funding opportunities.

Impact100 Owensboro offers transformational grants of at least $100,000 to empower women in philanthropy and support local nonprofits. The grant focuses on five key areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Family, Health & Wellness, and Environment & Recreation. Organizations must document their 501(c)(3) status and demonstrate community support. Grants cannot fund operating expenses unrelated to new programs or projects already completed. This initiative aims to uplift the Greater Owensboro community through strategic philanthropic endeavors.

Ujima Legacy Fund Grants

Ujima Legacy Fund is a collective giving circle created by and for civic minded African American men. The fund supports projects in the Richmond region that will promote equitable outcomes among youth and young adults, ages 12 to 21 years, with emphasis on Black/African American youth.

Ujima Legacy Fund seeks to support nonprofits that empower youth through education related initiatives.

The BJA FY 2026 Public Safety and Mental Health Initiative aims to enhance public safety by addressing untreated mental illness and substance use. This program supports coordinated intervention efforts across various agencies, improving access to treatment and reducing recidivism. By fostering comprehensive service networks, it seeks to restore order in communities affected by homelessness and mental health challenges, ultimately enhancing community well-being and trust in public spaces.

Jay A. Graybeal Scholarship

The purpose of the Jay A. Graybeal Scholarship is to provide scholarships to college bound high school students, or students currently enrolled in undergraduate studies or pursuing post-graduate studies in general history or a specialty area of studies in history to include but not limited to; museum studies, archival management, library science, historic preservation, material culture, American Studies, archaeology, anthropology, art or architectural history or preservation technology; or to students pursuing a recognized certification or apprentice program dedicated to traditional arts, industries, trades or crafts.

The Scholarship amount is $1,000.

The NJ WorkClean Diesel Modernization Grant Program aims to improve air quality by funding diesel-to-diesel and diesel-to-electric projects. It targets older diesel vehicles and equipment that contribute to air pollution, particularly in overburdened communities. This reimbursement program supports replacing marine engines and non-road diesel vehicles while promoting the electrification of on-road diesel vehicles, such as school buses and garbage trucks, to enhance public health and environmental standards.

The Clinton County Community Foundation, established through the generosity of Jean Sharp Rempe, has grown to over $11 million in assets. This foundation supports local initiatives, benefiting youth, libraries, the elderly, and various community groups. Charities seeking funding must serve Clinton County residents and be recognized as 501(c)(3) organizations by the IRS. The foundation's contributions have significantly enhanced community welfare and development.

The Tire-Derived Aggregate Grant Program, administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, aims to divert waste tires from landfills and promote recycled tire products. This program offers funding for projects that address engineering challenges using lightweight, free-draining tire-derived aggregates. Key deadlines include submitting required documents for approval by August 19, 2025, November 20, 2025, and February 10, 2026. This initiative supports sustainable waste management practices.

The Community Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grants, administered by the Illinois Finance Authority, aims to deploy over $14 million in federal funds for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This initiative focuses on expanding access to EV charging in both urban and rural communities, particularly in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. Eligible applicants include government, education, and nonprofit organizations, with a requirement for a 20% cost match. The program prioritizes projects enhancing community-based infrastructure for all Illinois residents.

The Impact100 East Bay Grant Program empowers women to engage in philanthropy through substantial grants of at least $100,000. It focuses on transformative initiatives across five key areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environmental Preservation, Family Support, and Health & Wellness. Eligible organizations must demonstrate financial health and a commitment to sustainability, serving the communities of Alameda and Contra Costa. Ineligible projects include general operating expenses and those that do not align with the program's mission.

The NIDCD invites R01 grant applications aimed at independent research projects related to the mission of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. This opportunity promotes workforce development by supporting Early Stage and New Investigators, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds in health sciences. Letters of Intent are encouraged 30 days before the proposal deadline, allowing diverse researchers to collaborate and contribute to vital health-related studies.

The MetroWest Human Services Grant Program, managed by the Foundation for MetroWest, aims to build strong families and communities by providing general operating grants to organizations serving underrepresented individuals. In 2023, priority will be given to those assisting low-income households, homeless individuals, and vulnerable populations such as immigrants and the disabled. This initiative strives to eliminate barriers to essential resources, fostering an inclusive environment for all residents in the MetroWest region.

The Kids Fund Grant is a charitable initiative dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and youth in Dane County. As a tax-exempt organization, it provides grants up to $5,000 to public charitable organizations that aim to promote positive development, address challenges like substance abuse, and assist children with disabilities. The fund seeks to enhance community services and foster recreational activities, ensuring a brighter future for local families and children.

The Klamath River Fund: Catalyst Grants aim to foster community-led climate resilience and restorative justice in the Klamath River Basin. This initiative, part of the Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation, responds to unique community needs with grants under $10,000. Following significant dam removals in 2023-2024, the program will support restoration efforts, enhance well-being, and promote equity across the region, including partnerships with local tribes and organizations.

The Gladys Brooks Foundation supports innovative projects in libraries, education, hospitals, and clinics. Grants focus on resource endowments, capital construction, and equipment aimed at improving public access to information and educational resources. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations located in specific states and demonstrate that projects will be funded primarily by the grant. Applications for direct salary support or research projects are not accepted.

The Granville County Community Foundation (GCCF) offers grants to nonprofits to support community enhancement. Established in 1997, GCCF allocates funds from its endowments, including the Martha Frances Pruitt Endowment Fund, to organizations meeting eligibility criteria such as being tax-exempt public charities or local government units. The foundation encourages diverse community programs while excluding funding for political purposes, loans, or general operating support for religious entities. This initiative aims to foster inclusive community development.

The GFO-23-318 – BRIDGE 2024 initiative aims to accelerate clean energy innovation in California by funding Applied Research and Development (AR&D) and Technology Demonstration and Deployment (TD&D) projects. With over $25 million available, this program supports promising technologies that have received prior funding from the California Energy Commission or eligible federal agencies. It focuses on enhancing entrepreneurship by providing non-dilutive investments to early-stage clean energy companies, fostering market adoption of efficient energy solutions.

The AmeriCorps State and National Rhode Island Grants, offered by ServeRI, empower organizations to tackle community needs by recruiting and training AmeriCorps members. These grants aim to enhance civic engagement and support pathways for participants to advance their careers or education. Successful proposals must demonstrate how AmeriCorps service positions address specific community challenges while providing meaningful benefits to the members. This initiative fosters collaboration among nonprofits, schools, and government agencies to improve lives and strengthen communities across Rhode Island.

The Welfare Foundation Grant focuses on supporting nonprofits in Delaware and southern Chester County, emphasizing capital grants. With an annual budget of around $5 million, the Foundation has contributed approximately $130 million over 25 years. Eligible organizations must hold 501(c)(3) status and comply with non-discrimination policies. The Foundation prioritizes sectors such as social services, housing, health, education, environment, civic engagement, and the arts, while excluding annual support and political activities.

The Morton K. and Jane Blaustein Foundation Grant supports initiatives addressing climate justice, racial equity, and immigrant rights. It prioritizes organizations working towards sustainable climate solutions, advocating against racial injustices, and protecting the rights of immigrants and refugees. The foundation focuses its efforts particularly in areas affected by institutionalized racism and climate change, with a geographic emphasis on Baltimore, New York, and the DC Capital Region. Proposals are welcomed on a rolling basis.
