The Clive Community Foundation (CCF) is a conduit for residents, businesses and other stakeholders to donate funds for the betterment of our community.

Along with providing the depth of expertise and guidance for establishing the CCF, the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines provides cost-efficient access to world-class investment managers and alternative investment strategies only available to large institutional investors.

As a Foundation, we raise funds for distribution to local nonprofit organizations and special projects that enhance opportunities and community appeal for current and future residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Grant Guidelines

The Clive Community Foundation was established in 2007 by a group of citizens to improve the quality of life for Clive residents and businesses by promoting charitable giving and connecting donors with causes they value and desire to support.

Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to qualifying organizations. 

The Hawaii Sea Grant: Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) offers undergraduates the chance to engage in ocean sciences research and environmental studies in Hawaii and the Pacific. Running from June 8 to August 14, this full-time program pairs students with mentors from various institutions. Participants will gain hands-on experience, attend workshops, and present their findings at a symposium, all while receiving a $7,000 stipend to support their research efforts.

The Nonpoint Source Management Grants (Section 319) support watershed-based projects aimed at restoring or protecting water quality. Funded by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, these grants provide financial assistance for implementing the Nonpoint Source Management Plan. Eligible entities include government units, educational institutions, and non-profits. Key details include a grant limit of $300,000, a 40% non-federal match requirement, and a project duration of up to 3 years.

The Urban and Community Forestry - Inflation Reduction Act Grant aims to enhance urban forest management in Florida, promoting the retention and expansion of community tree canopies. This initiative emphasizes the importance of trees in urban settings, highlighting their benefits such as increased property values, improved mental and physical health, and reduced environmental issues. By educating communities on proper tree care and green infrastructure, the program strives to optimize the ecological and social advantages of urban forestry.

The Proposition 68 Grant Program, led by the California Tahoe Conservancy, allocates $27 million to enhance Lake Tahoe's natural and recreational resources. The program aims to protect communities from wildfire, restore forests and watersheds, and provide public access for outdoor recreation. Additionally, it promotes climate adaptation and diversity in community benefits, with $5 million dedicated to local assistance grants, thereby supporting sustainable development and environmental improvement in the Basin.

Florida’s Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program is a federal program designed to directly address the housing needs and supportive services of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families. In addition, the project sponsors will be responsible for administrative oversight of all housing and supportive services funded through these contracts.

Texas Department of Agriculture

The Texas Legislature established the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) in 1907. The agency's key objectives are to promote production agriculture, consumer protection, economic development and healthy living. The agriculture commissioner oversees the agency and is elected every four years. The current commissioner, Sid Miller, was first elected in 2014 and began his third term serving Texas agriculture in January 2023.

TDA is a diversified state agency that provides value-added services through our regulatory and marketing and initiatives.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Rural Texas

The primary objective of the Community Development Block Grant program is to develop viable communities by providing decent housing and suitable living environments, and to expand economic opportunities principally for persons of low- to moderate-income.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Rural Texas includes: Community Development Fund; Downtown Revitalization Program; Colonia Fund - Construction; Colonia Economically Distressed Areas Program; State Urgent Need (SUN) Fund.

Colonia Economically Distressed Areas Program Fund (CEDAP)

Colonia Funds

TxCDBG Colonia funds are available to eligible county applicants for projects in severely distressed unincorporated areas which meet the definition as a colonia:

• any identifiable unincorporated community within 150 miles of the United States-Mexico border, not including any standard metropolitan statistical area with a population exceeding 1,000,000;
• the community is determined to be a colonia on the basis of criteria including lack of potable water supply, lack of adequate sewage systems, and lack of decent, safe, and sanitary housing;
• the community was in existence as a colonia before the enactment of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act (November 28, 1990).

Description

This fund provides assistance to colonia areas to connect to a water and sewer system improvement project funded by the Texas Water Development Board Economically Distressed Areas Program (TWDB EDAP) or federal or state funding with a similar purpose.

An application cannot be submitted until the construction of the TWDB EDAP-funded water or sewer system begins. The applicant should work closely with CDBG staff.

Projects supported through this CDBG-funded program must meet primary beneficiary requirements. All applicants must refer to the most recent CEDAP Application Guide for complete program details and information.

The Alphawood Foundation, a private grant-making organization based in Chicago, focuses on supporting initiatives that promote equity, justice, and human rights. They award grants to non-profits in areas such as arts education, LGBTQ+ health and rights, and community empowerment, particularly for marginalized groups. Their funding emphasizes unrestricted operational support, prioritizing organizations aligned with their mission and that primarily serve the Chicago metropolitan area and Northwest Indiana.

Community Foundation of Randolph County

Our mission is to bring people and resources together to strengthen the quality of life, both now and in the future, for the residents of Randolph County.

The Community Foundation’s work falls into three major categories: grant-making, donor service, and community convening. Our most visible activities are the grants and scholarships we award each year. Most of these awards come from income earned from permanently endowed funds. Scholarships and other grants come from funds that donors have established for specific purposes.

Women’s Fund Grant

The Women’s Fund of Randolph County, held by the Community Foundation of Randolph County, Inc. (CFRC), supports projects and programs of organizations thatOrganizations with a 5 have a charitable purpose and are consistent with the mission of the CFRC. Generally, the determination of whether an organization’s activities are charitable or not is made by the IRS in assigning a tax-exempt status. The Women’s Fund may also make grants to non-501[c][3] organizations when the grant is for a charitable purpose.

The annual grant cycle of the Women’s Fund of Randolph County seeks applications for programs that provide services for women and/or children that will enhance their futures, especially programs that demonstrate innovation and creativity in providing new solutions to unresolved community needs.

Nonprofits are encouraged to partner for existing program enhancement and/or new program development.

Success should be measured by the ability of program participants to receive services that provide them a picture of a better life beyond today. Program area examples include, but are not limited to:

• Family Crisis Prevention: Family Support, Financial Literacy, Parenting Enhancement
• Women in Crisis: Domestic Abuse, Teen Pregnancy, Divorce, Death of a Spouse
• Education: High School Completion, Postsecondary Education Readiness
• Youth: Leadership, Community-Appropriate Behavior, Life Skills

Only ONE application per EIN will be considered during each grant cycle.

The Skokie Community Foundation Grants promote collaboration among organizations to enhance community welfare in Skokie. Applications must involve at least two partners, including a qualified nonprofit or governmental entity. The foundation funds diverse projects addressing arts, education, health, and more. The aim is to create lasting benefits for the Skokie community, ensuring that funded initiatives support both immediate needs and long-term development.

The Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation Grant aims to enhance the quality of life for children and young adults facing mental and physical challenges. By supporting registered charitable organizations that align with its mission, the foundation seeks to ensure that 100% of grant funds directly benefit those in need within the US. Emphasizing immediate results and proven success, the foundation is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of future generations.

The Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention program aims to reduce suicide rates among American Indian and Alaska Native populations. By enhancing care coordination and culturally relevant behavioral health services, it targets at-risk youth with early intervention strategies. This initiative emphasizes community engagement and collaboration among families, youth, and partners, fostering a comprehensive approach to prevention and support for those affected by suicide.

The Snoqualmie Tribal Organization Grant for Family Services offers up to $50,000 to 501c3 nonprofit organizations in Washington State. This grant supports vital services for families, including homelessness assistance, youth programs, rehabilitation, and domestic violence support. Since 2010, the Snoqualmie Tribe has donated over $8 million to various initiatives, illustrating their commitment to community welfare. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply and specify their services in the application.

The GACF Strategic Grant aims to enhance the Greenville community by supporting nonprofit organizations, schools, and government units that address critical needs in arts and culture, children and families, and community development. With over $40 million in endowed assets, the Greenville Area Community Foundation prioritizes innovative projects that foster collaboration and self-sustainability. Eligible applicants must focus on improving quality of life and access to opportunities for underserved populations in Montcalm County.

The Washington County Riverboat Association Grant Program offers funding through its Competitive Fund, distributing 75% of donations from the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. The program prioritizes community development, economic growth, education, arts, and human needs, aiming to enhance livability and support innovative projects. Eligible applicants include governmental and charitable organizations, while ineligible entities include those benefiting individuals or engaging in political activities. The foundation encourages leveraging additional funding sources for project completion.

The Grant Healthcare Foundation Grant aims to enhance healthcare services in Chicago, focusing on direct medical, mental health, and preventive care. Established to support organizations that improve access for underserved communities, the foundation prioritizes innovative programs with measurable outcomes. It funds initiatives that align with its mission to address barriers in healthcare access, particularly in the city's south and west sides. Preference is given to organizations demonstrating strong community leadership and collaboration.

The Hind Foundation's Supplemental Grant program supports community-based organizations with essential projects that may not qualify for a Standard Grant. Since its inception in 2006, it has funded diverse initiatives including ecosystem conservation, historical landmark restoration, and the promotion of music and visual arts. This program emphasizes the importance of collaboration among organizations to enhance habitats, preserve history, and foster artistic expression, ultimately benefiting local communities and their cultural heritage.

The NJ eMobility Rolling Grant Program aims to reduce transportation emissions in New Jersey, particularly benefiting low-income and disadvantaged communities. By promoting electric mobility solutions like rideshare and electric vehicle infrastructure, the program addresses health disparities linked to pollution. Projects must demonstrate community engagement and scalability, ensuring access to clean transportation options while improving air quality and public health. The funding prioritizes shovel-ready projects that demonstrate a clear understanding of community needs.

The Community Foundation of Pulaski County offers multiple grants aimed at improving community needs in Pulaski County, Indiana. These grants support charitable programs and projects, funded by both unrestricted and specific interest funds. Applicants are encouraged to review the 2025 Grant Guidelines to ensure eligibility, and to contact the foundation for guidance. The evaluation process considers project quality, community impact, and management capabilities, prioritizing initiatives that benefit a significant number of residents.

The Luce/ACLS Early Career Fellowships in China Studies – Flexible support innovative research and writing for early career scholars. Designed for those with heavy teaching loads, these fellowships enable recent PhDs to produce significant scholarly work in the humanities and interpretive social sciences. Applicants can use funds for travel, childcare, and research expenses, with a focus on projects that engage both academic and public audiences, enhancing connections between scholarship and community.

The Darwin Plus Fund - Local Organisations supports small-scale environmental projects in the UK Overseas Territories, aiming to enhance biodiversity and build resilience to climate change. This initiative is part of the UK government’s broader Darwin Plus fund, which seeks to protect unique ecosystems while contributing to local economies. Note that new funding rounds are currently paused. This program is crucial for fostering local capacity and environmental sustainability.

West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. offers the WPS Community Support Grants & Sponsorships, emphasizing a culture of giving and community involvement. The program supports 501(c)3 organizations that address healthcare challenges and focus on children, disabled individuals, and STEM education. Through financial support and volunteerism, West aims to foster healthier communities where its employees live and work, reinforcing its commitment to philanthropy and social responsibility.

The Darwin Plus Fund supports local projects in the UK Overseas Territories aimed at enhancing biodiversity and climate resilience. This initiative funds small-scale environmental projects that contribute to local economies and build in-territory capacity. Projects must be completed within 12 months, with funding available starting from April 1, 2025, and all funds to be utilized by March 31, 2026.

The Healthcare Foundation of Wilson (HFW) offers responsive grants aimed at improving health and wellness in the Wilson, NC community. Established in 2014, HFW prioritizes tax-exempt organizations that address healthcare access, active living, and mental health. Funding is directed towards innovative programs, especially those targeting youth, while ensuring eligibility criteria, including three years of operational history, are met. This initiative reflects HFW's commitment to reinvesting resources back into the community.

Blue Diamond Growers

In 1910, 230 California almond growers formed a cooperative with the following core values:

• To build strong relationships among growers and with their customers;
• To communicate directly and honestly; and
• To work as a team to realize the best return on their investment.

Community Giving Program

Our Commitment

Blue Diamond’s Community Giving Program reflects our five core values: Act with Integrity, Work as Partners, Deliver Quality Every Day, Innovate, and Play to Win.

It is our policy to build meaningful relationships with organizations that serve the communities in which we produce our products – namely, Sacramento, Salida, and Turlock. Generally, this will be defined as organizations working in the geographic area within 25 miles of our facility in a particular community.

Grant Request

Blue Diamond Growers provides funding for grant requests, typically between $500 – $15,000, for nonprofit organizations in the communities in which we have manufacturing facilities – Sacramento, Salida and Turlock – that meet one of the three pillars of our Community Giving Program:

• STEM education with special focus in agriculture education and nutrition for underserved children K – 12.
• Nutrition and food assistance organizations or programs for those experiencing food insecurity.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant supports organizations that enhance safety and community well-being, focusing on underrepresented populations. With over $100 million in donations, the foundation prioritizes technology and engineering education, first responder programming, and blended initiatives. Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations or school districts in the U.S. The foundation seeks partnerships that demonstrate strong financial health and data-driven evaluation methods, aiming to create safer cities and thriving communities.

The City of Carlsbad's Community Arts Grants program supports emerging arts organizations in Carlsbad, CA. Aimed at fostering artistic and cultural activities, these grants provide up to $5,000 for projects that engage diverse communities. Applicants must be recognized as nonprofit entities, with a focus on inclusive practices and artistic expression across various mediums. The program emphasizes collaboration and community impact, aligning with the city's cultural values and commitment to enriching local arts.
