Dan Barber/Western Auto Scholarship

Each Henderson County Public High School may nominate one male and one female graduating senior. The nominee must have played in three varsity sports for two or more years during grades 9-12 (one of those years being their senior year). The nominee must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Financial need is not a requirement.

The BJA FY 2026 Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Program aims to enhance the safety of federal judges and their families by preventing the disclosure of sensitive information. This funding opportunity supports state and local governments, including tribal entities, in implementing protective measures. The program emphasizes collaboration between federal, state, and local agencies to ensure justice is administered without fear of personal reprisal. Grants can only be used for the designated purpose of safeguarding federal judges as outlined in the statute.

This research study, funded by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, aims to investigate the effects of international parental child abduction (IPCA) on both abducted children and their left-behind parents. Key objectives include identifying the psychological, developmental, and social impacts of IPCA, pinpointing supportive gaps in the U.S., and recommending effective solutions to enhance support for affected families.

The NIOSH Small Research Grant Program (R03) aims to enhance the understanding of occupational disease risks and develop strategies for risk reduction. This grant supports research projects that require limited resources, including pilot studies and data analysis, to effectively translate scientific findings into practice. To support a (Blue Ridge Community College) BRCC student who is planning to attend a four-year college or university. The scholarship recipient should be a student who plans to attend and has been accepted to attend a four-year college. The student should demonstrate scholastic ability (to include a student gifted in the arts), financial need, character, leadership ability, participation in extracurricular activities and demonstrated ability to complete a college education (in order for the scholarship to be renewed, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.0). Other things being equal, preference should be given to scholastic ability.

This scholarship is renewable for 2 years only.

This scholarship shall be awarded to individuals with financial need who are pursuing a degree in any medically related field.

Pediatric Fellow Research Projects RFA

The Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine is pleased to announce the availability of grants to support research projects conducted by pediatric clinical fellows in accredited fellowship programs within the sections of the Department of Pediatrics.

Fellow research projects can request funding up to $10,000. Research projects must be feasibly completed within the fellowship period. It is anticipated that five to seven awards will be made.

James B. Murphy Firefighter of the Year

The Firefighter of the Year award is an annual award bestowed upon an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of a firefighter with an outstanding record of fire service achievements. Firefighter characteristics are not restricted to heroic action but encompass all aspects of a productive, dedicated and professional service at all levels. 

If heroic action is one of the reasons that the individual is being nominated, the Subcommittee on Awards for the Executive Committee must find no hard evidence that the individual was in violation of generally accepted safety standards at the time of the action. Such standards include, but are not limited to, abstinence from the influence of alcohol or drugs, the use of applicable protective equipment such as protective clothing and breathing apparatus, and adherence to accepted operating procedures, where these criteria were applicable at the time of the action.

John Paul Raywood Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide a post-secondary educational scholarship for children of an active, participating Knight of Columbus in good standing or of a deceased member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Joseph Maule Council #8923 of Arden, N.C. This scholarship is to encourage young men to join the Knights of Columbus.

Donald Forrest Hahn & Wilma Fraley Hahn Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donald Forrest Hahn and Wilma (Fraley) Hahn were high school sweethearts in Hollandsburg, Ohio where they graduated in 1941. Don enrolled at Earlham College, but was drafted into the Army to serve in World War II. He was part of the 3rd Army under the command of General Patton and his unit fought at Normandy Beach on D-Day, in the Battle of the Bulge, and in the battle for the Remagen Bridge. Don received a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, one with clusters and a purple heart for shrapnel wounds. Don was a member of the Honor Guard for General Patton’s funeral. Wilma obtained her nursing degree from Reid Memorial Hospital. When Don returned from the war in 1946, they married and moved to 298 No. Jackson Street in Winchester where they lived as man and wife for 70 years in that same house. Don passed away on December 24, 2016 and just 30 hours later Wilma died on December 25. Wilma worked as an emergency room nurse from 1946-1949 and then was employed by the Randolph County Hospital from 1950-1968. From 1968 until her retirement in 1986 Wilma was Randolph Central School corporation’s nurse. Don farmed, was a rural route mail carrier, a member of the Lion’s Club and served on the school board for the Randolph Central School Corporation. He was on the board when the new high school was built. Don and Wilma were members of the First United Methodist Church of Winchester for 70 years. Both Don and Wilma were awarded Sagamores of the Wabash. They had three children, Greg, Randy and LeighAnne. Both Don and Wilma valued public school education and held higher education as a priority.

Awarded to a Randolph County, Indiana High School graduate with a financial need. Preference to be given to a student(s) pursuing a degree in Agriculture or Nursing.

The Bill Barlow "Second Chance" Scholarship, managed by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, supports graduating seniors from alternative schools or local high schools and GED earners aiming for higher education. The scholarship offers financial assistance for tuition and related expenses, with a GPA requirement of 3.0 for public/private high school graduates. It encourages applicants to pursue their educational dreams without the burden of financial constraints, helping them take significant steps toward their futures.

The Cogley-Buffington Certified Property and Casualty Underwriters Fund offers scholarships managed by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, which awards over $500,000 annually to local students. Eligible applicants are graduating seniors from South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, or northwest Iowa, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, involvement in extracurriculars, and a demonstrated financial need. Scholarships can be used for tuition and course-related expenses, but not for-profit institutions.

The Dakota Alliance Soccer Club Student Athlete Scholarship, managed by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, offers financial support to graduating seniors from Sioux Falls high schools. Eligible applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and participate in soccer. This scholarship aims to enhance educational opportunities by supplementing existing financial aid, making it easier for students to pursue their dreams of higher education.
