The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation offers a General Fund Scholarship if you are not chosen, or are not eligible, to receive a Palmetto Citizens Scholarship. You are automatically entered into this General Fund Scholarship by submitting an application for the Palmetto Citizens Scholarship (cannot be awarded both).

As a benefit of membership, Blue Flame Credit Union provides eligible student members with the opportunity to apply for scholarships through the Carolina’s Credit Union Foundation. If you are an MTC Federal Credit Union member pursuing an undergraduate degree, the MTC Federal Scholarship Program may be able to provide financial assistance. For those who apply but aren’t selected, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation General Fund Scholarship offers another opportunity.
For those who apply to the MTC Federal Foundation Scholarship Program but aren’t accepted, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship may be able to provide financial assistance.
Scholarships do not automatically renew; selected recipients will receive a one-time distribution of funds. However, prior recipients are welcome to reapply.

The STFM Faculty for Tomorrow Resident Scholarship provides family medicine residents with the opportunity to attend the full-day Faculty for Tomorrow Workshop for Residents and the STFM Annual Spring Conference. This program is supported by the STFM Foundation and in part by Mary Nolan Hall, MD.

The selection is made by the STFM Nominations Committee and approved by the STFM Board of Directors. Nominations are ranked based on the:

This award is for work that encourages dialogue, promotes reflection, builds community, and inspires action for equity and change. Priority will be given to nominees who are teaching residents and/or medical students the ideals of diversity and who have disseminated these ideals as part of their precepting and patient-, family-, and relationship-centered care. The STFM Advocacy Scholarship for New Faculty provides the opportunity for faculty to attend the Family Medicine Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC, and develop advocacy skills to impact their patient communities. STFM supports up to five scholarships annually. Advocacy makes a real difference for patients and for family medicine. STFM supports five scholarships annually for new faculty to attend the Family Medicine Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC. The next summit will take place in June 2026, providing an opportunity for participants to develop advocacy skills for personal and academic career growth.

Such achievements should have had significance at a national level.

The Gubelmann Family Foundation Scholarship Fund
The Gubelmann name has been prominent in and around Palm Beach since the early 1940s, when the late Walter Gubelmann and his wife, Barton, first began to spend time in the area. Their son, William grew up in Palm Beach before moving to England to pursue his dream of racing where he became a British Formula Car champion and drove the European Formula II circuit.
Education is the most important thing to help disadvantaged people to better themselves,” William Gubelmann says. “We want to help the right person go to the right school for the right reason.”
Adds Shelley Gubelmann, “What impresses me is the fact that many of these students aren’t looking for large amounts of money. I don’t think people have nearly enough awareness that you don’t have to be a rich person to help somebody else.”
