SM27 Supplemental Measles Outbreak Competitive Solicitation
This funding will support rapid, large-scale response, mitigation, and preparedness activities for measles and other vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) in communities identified as at risk due to historically low or suspected low vaccination coverage. Many of these communities face unique challenges to prevention and mitigation efforts, including limited engagement with government institutions, language barriers, and rural isolation. The funding will enable jurisdictions to identify high-risk areas and populations, address gaps in vaccination coverage, and apply community-level expertise to strengthen outbreak prevention and readiness.
Supported activities will include increasing vaccine access, improving vaccine confidence and demand, and enhancing capacity for swift vaccination response and measles preparedness, with the overarching goal of reducing morbidity and mortality from measles and other VPDs among populations with persistently low vaccination uptake.
Funding
ODH plans to fund a maximum of 37 applicants. Applicants can apply for $32,500. Total funding for SM27 subgrants is expected to be approximately $1.2 million dollars, dependent on federal funds. Funds originate from federal funding source.
No subgrant award will be issued for less than $30,000. The minimum amount is exclusive of any required matching amounts and represents only ODH funds sub-granted. Applications submitted for less than the minimum amount will not be considered for review.
