The TESOL Award for Excellence in Research honors outstanding empirical research in language teaching and learning, promoting advancements in English language education. Sponsored by Dr. Deborah Short, this award includes a $1,500 grant, an additional $1,500 for conference expenses, a featured session at the TESOL convention, keynote speaking opportunity at the Graduate Student Forum, a one-year subscription to TESOL Quarterly, and a featured article in TESOL Connections.

The TESOL Teacher of the Year Award, presented by National Geographic Learning, honors exceptional English language teachers who have demonstrated outstanding dedication in the classroom for at least three consecutive years. The winner receives $1,000, a one-year TESOL membership, and free registration for the TESOL International Convention, including travel accommodations. This recognition not only highlights the importance of teaching excellence but also fosters a community of learning and collaboration among educators around the world.

The TESOL Leadership Mentoring Program connects TESOL members with experienced leaders for mentorship and professional development. Participants receive free registration to the annual convention, up to $1,000 for lodging, and the opportunity to build lasting relationships within the TESOL community. This program is designed for members in good standing, with a preference for individuals from underrepresented groups, fostering inclusivity and active participation in the association's initiatives.

The Burke Women's Fund, established in 2009 by 15 women, aims to unite diverse groups around critical issues affecting women and families in Burke County. Operating under the Community Foundation of Burke County, it supports 501(c)(3) organizations with grants for charitable, humanitarian, or educational purposes. The Fund prioritizes programs that enrich the lives of women, target underserved populations, and foster collaboration among different backgrounds, while ensuring a minimum project size of $5,000 for consideration.

The JDF: FIRST LEGO League Explore Grant Program, supported by the John Deere Foundation, aims to enhance participation in STEM for underserved youth. Teams must apply for the grant before registration and ensure compliance with eligibility criteria, including training requirements. This initiative is part of John Deere's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in technology and engineering fields, ultimately seeking to impact one million youth by 2030.

The Erin Jergentz Junior Golf Memorial Fund Grant Program provides financial assistance to high school students in Butte and Plumas counties who face barriers to participating in golf. This funding supports the purchase of equipment, gear, lessons, and team events, ensuring that all interested students have the opportunity to engage in the sport despite financial hardships. The program aims to promote inclusivity and support young athletes in their pursuit of golf.

We are honored to be the stewards of over 90 scholarship funds established by philanthropically-minded individuals in our community. Generous donors entrust us to connect them to dynamic students to provide financial resources for their education through scholarships. Our donors establish scholarship funds with criteria they wish to be met by applicants. Our scholarship committee considers the criteria, evaluates the submitted applications, and chooses the best candidates for each scholarship.

NEPA Invitational Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to assist with educational expenses for graduating seniors from Northeastern Pennsylvania who play golf and intend to pursue a post-secondary education. This is a manual application, available in the Spring.

Preserving & interpreting the legacy of Maryland's past

The Historic Preservation Capital Grant Program, administered by the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT), provides $1 million in funding for the preservation of Maryland’s historic properties and sites. This grant program offers money for important and urgently needed preservation projects that benefit the public.

Neal J. Fasula Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to individuals who are employed by, or who are the dependent child or stepchild of someone employed by, Gerrity’s Supermarket and/or Gerrity’s ACE Hardware Stores, and who plans to attend post-secondary education at an accredited university.

The Seniors Community Revitalization & Development Fund, supported by the Deaconess Foundation, aims to enhance public health infrastructure for seniors aged 55 and older in the Greater St. Louis area. This initiative focuses on improving transportation, safety, and navigation support for seniors while promoting transparency and accountability. Organizations can apply for grants of up to $30,000 to address these priority areas, ensuring better access to essential services for the aging population.

Scholarships

We partner with donors to administer scholarships for students across the state. All NCCF scholarship opportunities are established with criteria determined by the donor. 

Ralph Edwin and Ruby Irene Holloman Davis Scholarship Endowment

Applicants are graduating seniors from high schools in Johnston County who are continuing their education at a college, university, community or junior college, technical school, nursing school, or other post-high school training leading to a degree or associate degree, with preference to those who have financial need.

The scholarships we award vary each year based on the unique criteria of each scholarship. In 2025, we awarded over $3 million in scholarships to over 500 students, including $1.3 million to 110 students in western NC through our Disaster Relief and Resilience Scholarship.

Alpha Beta Chapter Scholarship Fund

Depending on the scholarship, it may pay for tuition, room and board, books, fees and/or other related educational expenses. This will be outlined in your award notification. The minimum scholarship award amount is $1,000.

NCCF scholarship awards are only issued to not-for-profit institutions and government entities such as public colleges or universities.

Helen Tomlinson Hobart Scholarship Endowment

Graduates of a public high school in Johnston County with plans to attend an accredited university or community college with a career objective to become a public-school teacher. “Public high school” does not include schools that are considered or classified as charter schools.

The Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix offers the Small Grants Program to support initiatives that strengthen the local Jewish community. With funding up to $3,000, eligible organizations can apply for projects that address urgent needs or leverage matching grants. Since 2017, this streamlined process prioritizes projects that directly impact the Greater Phoenix Jewish community, reinforcing CJP's commitment to innovation, emergency response, and sustainable local Jewish life.

The MN PGA Military Grant, provided by the Professional Golfers Association of America, aims to enhance the mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being of veterans and active military members through golf. Funded by the 100 Holes for Hope initiative, this grant supports PGA Professionals in introducing the game to service members and their families, fostering a sense of community and wellness through golf participation.

The Urology Care Foundation's Health Equity Fellowship Grant aims to train early-career urologists dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities in marginalized communities. Over two years, fellows will engage in didactic education and hands-on advocacy projects, gaining skills to implement innovative solutions. The program emphasizes mentorship and collaboration with Temple University, providing a unique opportunity for urologists to enhance their understanding of urban bioethics and community engagement while receiving a recognized certification upon completion.

The Community Foundation proudly supports students in Portage and Waushara counties with over $325,000 in scholarships annually, thanks to the generosity of local individuals and families. Award amounts range from $500 to $40,000, opening doors to educational opportunities.

The Community Foundation provides scholarships for a wide range of students, including high school seniors, college students, non-traditional learners, and those pursuing specific fields of study.

Barlow Enterprises Charitable and Educational Fund

Criteria for Selection:

• Be a student employee at the Bill’s Pizza division of Barlow Enterprises.

The BlueCross Healthy Place Program aims to enhance community well-being by developing accessible public spaces. This initiative focuses on creating environments that encourage physical activity and social interaction through features like playgrounds, fitness areas, and walking paths. Eligible applicants include government entities and non-profits ready to engage the community in project planning. Projects must cater to public use and demonstrate community benefits, ensuring inclusivity and active participation.

The Rona Jaffe Foundation Fellowship supports emerging women writers with a fully funded 7-month residency at the Fine Arts Work Center. Established by the Rona Jaffe Foundation, it includes a $2,500 prize to assist with travel and living expenses. Eligible candidates must be U.S. residents, at least 18 years old, and not enrolled in a degree program during the fellowship year. This prestigious fellowship aims to nurture exceptional literary talent.

The Women’s Fund of Vanderburgh County offers annual grants including two Impact Grants of $50,000 each for programs or projects. Additionally, four grants of $15,000 will be awarded to finalists in each category. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and governmental agencies in Vanderburgh County. The fund prioritizes gender equity and community needs, while excluding requests for debt reduction, operating costs, and individual scholarships.

San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc.

Mission

The Kiwanis Club of San Diego works in concert with the San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. (the ‘Foundation’). The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) foundation incorporated in California that annually provides more than $250,000 to projects and organizations in the community.

The primary purpose of the San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation is to provide a means for members and others to provide charitable contributions and to ensure those contributions are utilized in accordance with the Foundation’s guidelines as well as state and federal law.

The Kiwanis San Diego and San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation are providing Community Impact Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 for nonprofit organizations in the San Diego region with specific projects and programs focused on youth.

The Stiefvater Senior Endowment Grant, offered by the North Valley Community Foundation, aims to address the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of older adults. This grant supports nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors by providing essential services such as food, shelter, and medical care. Eligible applicants are encouraged to engage in discussions about community needs, fostering collaboration to improve senior care in the North Valley.

The Hamilton Community Foundation's Women's Fund Grants support innovative programs that empower women and girls in Butler County. Established in 1997, the fund promotes philanthropy and provides opportunities for personal growth, job readiness, and leadership development. The fund prioritizes proposals featuring mentoring and collaboration while discouraging requests for equipment and funding existing services. This initiative aims to foster a community where women can thrive and achieve their full potential.

The Watershed Fund offers Environmental Education Grants to organizations focused on preserving water quality and enhancing community appreciation for environmental resources. Grants, typically not exceeding $10,000, support projects that educate the public on the significance of watershed land and its impact on local ecosystems. Eligible applicants include non-profits, municipalities, and educational institutions within the South Central Connecticut Regional Water District. The program emphasizes measurable outcomes and collaboration with existing environmental education initiatives.

The SPC Cares Foundation

The SPC Cares Foundation was established in 2024 as a way for SPC Credit Union to strategically support four key development issues identified within our community: Hunger, Housing, Employment, & Education. The Foundation supports our local communities through monetary donations, in-kind donation drives, and volunteerism.

General Fund Scholarships

These funds are provided by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Scholarships are available to Members of any credit union in North and South Carolina. Both academic and need-based scholarships for all levels of higher education are awarded, including technical and community college scholarships.

The Multnomah Athletic Foundation offers community grants aimed at promoting athletic participation among youth, particularly those from underserved communities. By prioritizing access and opportunities, the foundation seeks to enhance confidence and character in young athletes. The funding is unrestricted, encouraging innovative projects that foster sustainable growth in nonprofit organizations. Emphasizing transparency and collaboration, the foundation aims to create equitable outcomes for all participants in the Portland metropolitan area.

The CFGC: Next Generation Fund Grant, established by the Gaston Community Foundation, supports charitable initiatives primarily in Gaston County. Since 2000, it has awarded over $193,000 to local nonprofits focused on children's welfare, environmental improvements, and crisis relief. In 2023, the fund emphasizes Health and Wellness, encouraging collaboration among organizations to maximize community impact. This grant fosters grassroots support and sustainable projects, ensuring that resources are used effectively to benefit the county's residents.
