Joseph H. Tallman Scholarships in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Criteria
Graduate from a public high school in Carteret County with a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA who is a US citizen and has resided in Carteret County full-time for at least the past 12 months, who is enrolling full-time in an accredited four-year college or university seeking a bachelor’s degree in either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and who demonstrates involvement in extracurricular activities and exhibits good moral character. PLEASE NOTE: Three specific letters of recommendation are required – one from a math or physics teacher, one from a teacher or school administrator, one from a non-family member in the community. The required essay should describe why you have chosen a career in engineering, what qualities you possess that would enable you to succeed in the engineering field, and how you foresee utilizing your degree to make a difference in your selected field of interest.
