The Recovery Housing Program (RHP)
In 2018, the United States Congress passed the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (SUPPORT Act) to address substance use disorder prevention, recovery, and treatment. Section 8071 of the SUPPORT Act authorizes the Recovery Housing Program (RHP). RHP funds are allocated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to allow states to provide stable, transitional housing for individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder. The RHP is a program within federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs, with rules modified by Federal Register Notice FR-6225-N-01.
Since 2020, FloridaCommerce has been awarded a total of $4,805,253 in RHP funding. FloridaCommerce's RHP Action Plan will guide the use of the allocation.
FloridaCommerce has identified a specific need for additional recovery housing and services for the veterans community within the state. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs FFY 2017 population estimates reflect that Florida has the third largest veteran population among all states in the nation.
To date, Governor DeSantis has awarded $1.6 million to provide transitional housing for Floridians and veterans recovering from substance abuse through RHP. The upcoming application cycle will result in awarding an additional $3.1 million for continued support through RHP.

Florida Communities Trust Parks and Open Space Grant
The preservation of green space, including parks, open space, beaches and natural areas, is an important factor in creating livable communities. In 1989, the Florida Communities Trust was created to meet this need. The Trust was funded through the Preservation 2000 bond program until the Florida Forever program was approved by the Florida Legislature in 1999.
The Parks and Open Space Florida Forever grant program provides funding to local governments and eligible nonprofit environmental organizations for acquisition of community-based parks, open space and greenways that further outdoor recreation and natural resource protection needs identified in local government comprehensive plans. The program provides local governments the opportunity to leverage local dollars with state dollars to optimize conservation benefits and encourages both public-private partnerships and land acquisition initiatives.
The Parks and Open Space Florida Forever Grant Program requires local governments to provide a minimum 25% match, except for nonprofit environmental organizations and small local governments (defined as municipalities with a population less than 10,000 and counties with a population less than 75,000).
Funding
A total of $6.8 million is available in funding for this application cycle. Under the provisions of subsection 62-818.003(7), F.A.C., the total amount of any award or combination of awards applied for by any local government or nonprofit environmental organization under any application(s) or partnership application(s) for any project(s) shall not exceed five million dollars during any one cycle.
Awards requested in a partnership application are divided equally among the partners for the purposes of calculating individual applicant limits. However, the project will not be funded if the Applicant has three or more active Grant Agreements at the time of project selection. The Applicant may close out active Grant Agreements prior to project selection to regain eligibility pursuant to subsection 62-818.003(5), F.A.C.

Arts in Community Grants
Program Description
Arts in Community Grants are designed to support deeper engagements between Southern communities and artists. Through these grants supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, we aim to increase access to the arts, expand audiences for artists, and broaden our reach. Eligible projects require a Southern artist/company visiting another Southern state for public activities, offering access to arts programming by professional artists. Funding supports Southern film directors, traditional artists, visual artists, performing artists, or writers:
Projects require an artist or artist ensemble and a host or partner organization. Project must include at least two in-person or live, virtual public activities – both a public presentation (a film screening, performance, reading, or exhibition) and an educational/community engagement activity (a workshop, demonstration, lecture, facilitated discussion, or master class). The grant requires a dollar-for-dollar cash match.
