The purpose of the grant program is to “support a continuum of evidence-based or promising programs that are trauma informed, reflect the science of adolescent development, and are designed to meet the needs of youth.” Funding is available for programs that address youth delinquency, including community-based services, mentoring, and school-based programs. 

Virginia Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Intervention Summer Grant Program 

The purpose of this grant program is to fund effective diversion and prevention programs designed to provide enrichment opportunities for youth during the summer months. These federal funds are available under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act Title II Formula Grants Program from the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Title II grants are intended to “support a continuum of evidence-based or promising programs that are trauma informed, reflect the science of adolescent development, and are designed to meet the needs of youth.”

Eligible projects must fall within the following priorities:

• Reducing disproportionality in the juvenile justice system;
• Addressing behavioral health needs of youth and those involved in the juvenile justice system;
• Serving youth and system-involved youth in their home communities; or
• Increasing family engagement and community involvement for youth.

Programs must be evidence-informed (research and data driven). Applicants seeking to expand or replicate an existing project must be able to demonstrate progress and success in what has been done through the life of the project. Projects should demonstrate that programming is approached through a trauma-informed lens.

Expected Total Amount of Funding

DCJS anticipates $200,000 in federal funds will be available for awards under this funding opportunity.

Zero Electrocution Challenge

McElhattan Foundation’s Zero Electrocution Challenge seeks breakthrough solutions that present pathways to eliminate life-threatening tasks that lead to fatal electrocution on the job by the year 2050, while increasing enterprise profitability and productivity. An award from the George and Viola Hoffman Fund may be made annually for student research toward a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation on a geographical subject in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe includes the countries of East Central and Southeast Europe from Poland south to Romania, Bulgaria, and the successor states of the former Yugoslavia. Topics may be historical or contemporary, systematic or regional, limited to a small area or comparative.

The primary purpose of this project is to “move the needle” in addressing domestic violence. Proposed project concepts should make a noticeable or significant impact, difference, or progress toward preventing, addressing, or responding to family and/or domestic violence in Virginia. These efforts should include actions that create real, measurable effect

Nebraska Library Commission Grants Schedule

Nebraska Library Commission Grants: The Nebraska Library Commission awards grants to Nebraska libraries and library organizations according to the following schedule. These grants are financed with funding made available through the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature or through the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.

Continuing Education and Training Grants

This year, the Nebraska Library Commission is opening the CE grants to 1) online learning, 2) attending out-of-state conferences or workshops, and 3) larger continuing education projects.

The purpose of these continuing education grants is to assist Nebraska libraries in improving the library services provided to their communities through continuing education and training for their library personnel and supporters. Successful applications will show how the continuing education and/or training proposed will support the library's mission.

For this round of CE and training grants, applications should be for events happening before June 2026. (All reimbursement forms and receipts must be submitted by June 12, 2026.).
