Organizations must demonstrate fiscal stability and potential impact to be considered for funding.

The Triple Crown Initiative by Brandito aims to support local non-profits in Richmond and surrounding areas through significant grants and promotional merchandise. With awards of up to $15,000 and additional merchandise credits, this initiative empowers organizations aligned with Brandito's mission. Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) entities that demonstrate a commitment to community service. Annually, a national competition showcases numerous organizations demonstrating impactful community partnerships. Six organizations receive recognition, including the Thomas J. Moran Award, which offers $100,000, and the Frances R. Hesselbein Award, granting $75,000. Since 1996, the award has acknowledged 262 partnerships, emphasizing Mutual of America's commitment to societal improvement through collaboration.

Impact 100 Richmond aims to transform lives in the Richmond area by empowering women through philanthropy. With a focus on granting $100,000 to local nonprofits, this initiative targets projects in Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family, and Health & Wellness. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a budget of at least $250,000 and a minimum of 36 months of operation. Preference is given to projects benefitting women and children.

The Home Office Giving Program by the CarMax Foundation supports nonprofits in the Greater Richmond, Virginia area, focusing on education, health, and community resilience. With over $65 million invested in local causes, the program aims to uplift underserved youth and adults through initiatives in workforce readiness, health education, and neighborhood revitalization. This commitment reflects CarMax's dedication to fostering thriving communities and empowering individuals, ensuring a brighter future for families in the region.

The TJX Foundation Grants support nonprofit organizations located within 15 miles of a TJX store that align with their community mission. Eligible areas include basic needs, education for at-risk youth, workforce training, and safety from domestic violence. The Memorial Foundation for Children Grant Program aims to enhance the lives of children in the Richmond Metropolitan Area by funding nonprofit organizations focused on Education and Health and Wellness. Grants are awarded biennially, emphasizing collaboration among organizations to tackle significant issues affecting children from birth to age 21. The program seeks to ensure that all children can reach their full potential.

We support low-income and other vulnerable groups of children, families, and older adults in 13 localities and over one million residents: the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights, and the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan, and Prince George. Our extensive reach across multiple communities allows us to share innovations and scale solutions, improving lives throughout our region.  

Program Capacity Grants

Program Capacity grants are designed to support the launch of pilot programs or expand existing services with the aim of reducing duplicated services, supporting efficiency, and scaling proven solutions. Program Capacity grants have the following features:

• Program Capacity grants are 1-year awards
• Program Capacity grants are restricted funds that must be applied to a single specific program or targeted effort
• Program Capacity awards range between $10,000–$70,000

The Bank of America Lori Ann Robinson Scholarship, established in 1997 by the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, honors the memory of Lori Ann Robinson. This scholarship supports students from Richmond-area high schools seeking to major in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration at accredited colleges. Recipients can receive funding for up to five years, provided they maintain good academic standing, thereby fostering educational opportunities and community development.

The Barry D. Koval Memorial Scholarship, established by the Koval family, supports Richmond-area minority students in need of financial aid for post-secondary education. This scholarship honors Barry Koval's legacy of dedication and service. Eligible applicants include graduating high school seniors and adult learners over 21 who demonstrate financial need, moral character, and community involvement. Awards assist with educational expenses, empowering students to pursue their academic goals and contribute to their communities.

The Becky Briggs Memorial Scholarship, established by the Western Henrico County Rotary Club, honors the memory of Becky Briggs, a promising student who tragically passed away in 1990. This scholarship aims to support seniors from local high schools demonstrating exceptional academic commitment and community involvement. Recipients are expected to pursue higher education at accredited four-year institutions, fostering a legacy of excellence and community service in the Richmond area.

The CarMax-Rick Sharp Entrepreneur Scholarship, established in 2013 by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, honors the contributions of founder Rick Sharp. This scholarship aims to support the next generation of entrepreneurs in the Richmond area. Eligible applicants are graduating high school seniors demonstrating financial need, academic commitment, leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to those planning to enroll in accredited colleges or universities.

The Harrison-Labouisse-Mayo Memorial Scholarship, established by Ms. Sally Harrison in 2002, provides support to students in Richmond who have faced catastrophic circumstances affecting their education. Sponsored by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, this scholarship aims to assist high school graduates committed to academics and community involvement, who plan to enroll in accredited post-secondary institutions. It fosters resilience and hope for students striving for academic success despite challenges.

The Hill Family Scholarship, established by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, supports post-secondary education for high school graduates in the Richmond area diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. Eligible students can receive funds for educational expenses while attending accredited colleges or universities in the U.S. This initiative aims to enhance access to educational opportunities and promote academic success for deserving students within the community.

The Virginia Randolph Scholarship, established in 1963, honors the legacy of a pioneering educator in Henrico County. Managed by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, this scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic promise, community service, and financial need. It ensures a lasting tribute to Virginia Randolph’s commitment to education and helps empower the next generation of leaders in the region. Eligible students can receive tuition assistance for higher education pursuits.
