This partnership ensures that students and teachers have the necessary tools and resources to thrive in a rapidly evolving world, empowering the next generation of leaders in science and technology.

The Dow Promise Grant empowers communities by addressing the unique barriers faced by Black youth and adults in the U.S. This program provides grants up to $10,000 for initiatives that promote social, economic, and environmental advancements. Since its inception in 2000, the Dow Promise Program has been committed to fostering equitable opportunities and positive social change, ultimately contributing to long-term community success and a brighter future for all.

Background & Purpose

The California Arts Council (CAC) is a statewide agency committed to serving California artists, arts organizations, and communities of all sizes and needs. Guided by racial equity principles, the CAC continuously evaluates its grantmaking practices to ensure fair and inclusive funding opportunities that sustain a vibrant, safe, and resilient creative ecosystem across the state.

Through regionally based Administering Organizations (AOs), the Individual Artists Fellowship (IAF) program uplifts and celebrates California artists across all disciplines and traditions, highlights their excellence and acknowledges their leadership in shaping traditional and contemporary cultures. In partnership with California Arts Council (CAC), Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP) is thrilled to serve as the Administering Organization for the Individual Artist Fellowships in Los Angeles County.

The Conservation Guest Scholars Grants, offered by the J Paul Getty Trust, provide established scholars with the opportunity to conduct independent research at the Getty Conservation Institute for three to six months. Recipients receive financial support, access to research collections, and a collaborative environment with other scholars. This program particularly encourages applications from international researchers and those with a strong background in conservation and heritage studies. Grants include a travel stipend and accommodation in Getty scholar housing.

The Valero Energy Foundation Grants support nonprofit organizations that align with their mission to improve the quality of life in communities where Valero operates. With a focus on basic needs, health care, education, and civic initiatives, the foundation prioritizes funding requests from 501(c)(3) organizations. Eligible organizations must hold 501(c)(3) status, operate for at least three years, and serve predominantly women and girls. This funding aims to create impactful changes in the community.

The Third District Discretionary Grant Funding in California offers financial support to community-serving organizations located within the district. Supervisor Horvath reviews grant requests, emphasizing that not all can be funded due to high demand. Eligible organizations include non-profit entities focused on various initiatives, including education and public safety. Each organization may submit one event and one regular grant request per year. Grants are limited to a one-year period and cannot be used for religious promotion or ongoing funding.

The NFL Foundation Grassroots Program, in partnership with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), aims to enhance the quality, safety, and accessibility of community football fields. With grants up to $250,000, this initiative addresses the critical lack of safe recreation spaces in low-income neighborhoods, ensuring children and adults have access to well-maintained facilities for gathering and exercise, ultimately fostering community health and well-being.

The Eisner Foundation Grant Programs in Los Angeles aim to support innovative intergenerational solutions that strengthen communities. Grants ranging from $100,000 to $300,000 assist organizations in their operations, project support, and capacity building, fostering collaboration across generations. Eligible applicants include tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations based in the Los Angeles area, with a focus on measurable impact and effective leadership. The foundation emphasizes efficiency and proven success in grant proposals.

The Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts offers the Infinite Expansion Grants to support arts organizations that engage in innovative projects reflecting critical thinking and risk-taking in the arts. With grants up to $50,000, the program aims to honor the legacy of Mike Kelley by fostering experimental work that culminates in public presentations by December 2027. Eligible organizations must be based in Los Angeles County and have an operating budget of $5 million or less, among other criteria.

Young learners are naturally wired for discovery. PLTW Launch is designed with activities that let them see what they can be and build skills to discover what they can do. Students are immersed in hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. They experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more. Throughout the modules, even the youngest learners apply their math and English Language Arts (ELA) skills, learn science to standards, and adopt skills that are foundational across disciplines.
