The SFS Fellows Grant, awarded by the Society for Freshwater Science, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to freshwater science research, policy, or management. Each year, up to four fellows are selected based on their sustained excellence and leadership within the field. RBC Foundation – USA aims to enhance community quality of life by supporting non-profit organizations that promote diversity and positive change. Clean Water Programs

VHCB administers two separate funding programs to support a healthy and clean Lake Memphremagog Basin—the Memphremagog Clean Water Service Provider, funded through the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Leahy Memphremagog Clean Water Program, funded through the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

Leahy Memphremagog Clean Water Program

The Vermont Housing & Conservation Board (VHCB) has grants available on a competitive basis for aquatic habitat improvement work in the Memphremagog Basin. These grants are designed to improve fisheries habitat, enhance water quality and aquatic ecosystem health, and support capacity among organizations supporting watershed health in the Memphremagog Watershed. 

Goals of this Grant Program

We have received funding from the Great Lakes Fisheries Commission to fund capacity building, land acquisition, and on-the-ground projects and infrastructure that have a positive impact on fisheries habitat, water quality, and aquatic ecosystem health. The priority behind this grant is to help fill gaps that exist in fisheries habitat and surface water quality improvement work in the region and fund proposals for which other sources would be impractical, insufficient, and/or unsuitable.

Capacity Grants

Awards will be used to close organizational and programmatic funding gaps that currently exist in the Memphremagog Watershed. Funding can be used to increase the capacity and coordination of partners working in the region to support public education and research and improve water quality and watershed functions. Funding may also be used to support capacity funded by a previous VHCB grant under this program. Another priority for funding is supporting collaboration between U.S. and Canadian organizations, and we encourage projects that propose to enhance these collaborations.

The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) Charitable Foundation Fund empowers charitable organizations focused on enhancing the lives of children and youth in southeast Michigan. Since its establishment in 1999, it has allocated over $6.4 million to support local nonprofits. The fund prioritizes sustainability, regional impact, collaboration, and leveraging additional resources to ensure lasting benefits for the community. Applications are welcomed from 501(c)(3) organizations serving the defined region, with an emphasis on impactful, collaborative projects.

The Chesapeake Watershed Investments for Landscape Defense (WILD) Program, managed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, invites proposals for grants ranging from $75,000 to $500,000. These funds aim to support on-the-ground conservation projects that enhance vital fish and wildlife habitats within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Up to $8.5 million in funding is available, contingent on resources.

The Mathile Family Foundation Grant is aimed at supporting tax-exempt organizations that align with its mission to transform lives through education and support for families in need. The foundation prioritizes projects in the Greater Dayton area and emphasizes responsive grantmaking to foster significant changes. Eligible organizations can apply once a year for grants starting at $1,000, with a focus on educational opportunities that serve at-risk children, thereby addressing critical social and economic disparities in the community.

The Albert W. and Helen C. Meserve Memorial Scholarship supports students from specific Connecticut communities pursuing degrees in environmental sciences or nursing. Administered by the Center for Scholarship Administration, the scholarship varies in amount and is applied towards tuition and related costs. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, demonstrate leadership qualities, and attend an accredited four-year institution as full-time students. The scholarship is non-renewable and can be awarded for up to four years.

The Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund Grant supports projects aimed at enhancing environmental education and conservation efforts in the Chesapeake Bay area. Funded activities include educational training for educators, increasing public involvement in restoration activities, and projects that mitigate pollution and restore habitats. The grant favors proposals that demonstrate clear objectives, community engagement, and practical benefits to the Bay, ensuring a positive impact on local environmental challenges.

The Colorado Health Foundation offers the Rapid Response: Advocacy Grant Program to support short-term advocacy initiatives that promote health equity in Colorado. There is no application deadline; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions generally made within 45 days. Eligible organizations can focus on time-sensitive public policy advocacy addressing priorities such as access to quality healthcare, children's safety, and affordable housing. This grant empowers community-driven solutions to enhance health outcomes for underserved populations.

The Living Room Program

The Living Room Program (LRP) is for individuals in need of a crisis respite program with services and supports designed to break the cycle of psychiatric hospitalization. The LRP provides a safe, inviting, home-like atmosphere where individuals can calmly process the crisis event, as well as learn and apply wellness strategies which may prevent future crisis events. The LRP is staffed by Peer Recovery Support Specialists and is based on a philosophy that crises are an opportunity for learning. Peer Recovery Support Specialists are individuals with their own Lived Expertise in recovery from mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use.

Individuals experiencing behavioral health crises may self-refer, or may be referred by police, fire, emergency departments or other organizations with which an individual experiencing such a crisis may come into contact. The LRP emphasizes the voluntary nature of its services, ensuring that individuals, including those in contact with outside referring entities during a crisis, cannot be compelled to participate in the program. Participation in the LRP will be voluntary and based on the individual's choice, allowing individuals the autonomy to choose the level of involvement that aligns with their preferences and needs.

The Detroit Industrial School Grant provides vital funding for projects benefiting children in the Tri-County area. With grants up to $5,000, the foundation prioritizes support for non-profit agencies addressing basic needs, educational programs, and resources for disabled children. The grant aims to help those in greatest need, ensuring no racial or religious discrimination in service. Eligible projects include tutoring, field trips, and skill training, fostering a brighter future for local youth.

The Indian Environmental General Assistance Program (GAP), administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), provides crucial funding to tribal governments and intertribal consortia for developing environmental protection programs. Since 1992, GAP has focused on remediation of pollutants and, more recently, supports climate adaptation initiatives. The program emphasizes tribal sovereignty while aiding in capacity building, policymaking, and establishing joint EPA-Tribal Environmental Plans to effectively address environmental challenges faced by tribal communities.

The Environment Anne Arundel Fund, established by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, supports local nonprofits focused on environmental protection and improvement in Anne Arundel County and the Chesapeake Bay. Grants will fund projects addressing stormwater issues and increasing community awareness of environmental challenges. Eligible applicants must operate within the county, hold 501(c)(3) status, and demonstrate their commitment to educating the public and engaging citizens in environmental stewardship.

The AllOne Foundation Grant seeks to fund programs in five key impact areas: Behavioral Health, Women & Children, Autism, Opioid Solutions, and Food Security. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities, serve specific counties in Pennsylvania, and employ at least one paid staff member. The foundation aims to enhance healthcare delivery and address critical issues in the region, fostering innovative solutions to improve community well-being.

The Long Foundation Grant aims to support Texas Hispanic youths by addressing the high school dropout rate and enhancing their economic and social potential. Through annual grants to nonprofits and educational institutions, the foundation seeks programs that promote caring adult relationships, safe spaces, health, and marketable skills. With a focus on the Austin Metropolitan area, at least 75% of beneficiaries must be Hispanic, ensuring inclusivity while prioritizing this demographic's needs.

The Community Benefit Initiative Reinvestment (CBIR) Grant supports one-year projects aimed at enhancing healthcare access for Eastern Oregonians, specifically targeting Tribes and Tribal organizations. This initiative, part of EOCCO's funding programs, focuses on improving the health and wellness of tribal members across multiple counties. All applicants must receive prior technical assistance to qualify. For the 2026 cycle, EOCCO offers five unique CBIR opportunities to foster community health improvements.

River Rock Shared Future Fund

Purpose

The River Rock Shared Future Fund’s long-term goal is achieving greater racial equity by increasing economic opportunities, education levels and health and wellness in communities of color in Maine.

Types of Funding

Two-year general support grants for flexible funding of any type such as new/expanding/ongoing programs and operational needs including capital expenses. Your organization’s primary work must meet the River Rock Shared Future Fund criteria listed below.

Multi-year grantees will be selected every two years.

The Hobbs Foundation Grant supports charitable organizations in Florida that focus on child development, family stabilization, and educational mentorship. By funding evidence-based interventions, the foundation aims to improve the lives of at-risk children facing instability and poverty. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) non-profits committed to helping children impacted by the welfare system. The Forever Austin Fund Grant offers support for urgent and systemic needs in Central Texas, focusing on economic mobility, health, and environmental sustainability. Through collaborative efforts, grants will be awarded to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations, with amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. This fund aims to empower communities by addressing barriers and fostering long-term growth, with a commitment to improving health outcomes and preserving natural resources. Applications are welcome from diverse organizations serving the Central Texas region.

The AmeriCorps Program Grant in Wyoming supports non-profits in hosting AmeriCorps members to serve communities in need. This grant facilitates the development of impactful programs across various sectors, including education and healthcare. Organizations must submit a concept paper to outline their proposed projects and member needs. By engaging volunteers, the grant aims to foster community resilience and create meaningful service opportunities for individuals, ultimately enhancing the quality of life in Wyoming.

The Anchor QEA Scholarship supports graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering, environmental sciences, or related fields, with awards between $1,000 and $10,000. This program emphasizes helping those in financial need, particularly focusing on BIPOC students to address inequities in STEM. Eligible candidates must demonstrate a commitment to community service and possess an inclusive mindset. This initiative reflects Anchor QEA's dedication to fostering a diverse and equitable educational environment.

The Clayton County Foundation for the Future Grant supports projects focused on enhancing education and addressing community needs, particularly for underserved populations. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate capacity building, community impact, and innovative solutions. Eligible projects span health services, education, community development, and arts, with a maximum funding request of $1,000. This year, there is a strong emphasis on youth enrichment initiatives, ensuring the involvement of those served in program planning.

The Environmental Programming Grant supports organizations in Cedar Grove, Belgium, Northern Ozaukee, Oostburg, and Random Lake, Wisconsin, focusing on water-related programs and animal rehabilitation. Grants can be matching, special projects, endowments, capital projects, or general operations. Eligible organizations must be local, 501(c)(3) certified, and spend 25% or less on administrative costs. The Bruce Krier Charitable Foundation Inc prioritizes impactful, community-driven initiatives.

The AMB West Community Fund, part of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, aims to enhance the quality of life for Montanans, focusing on nurturing childhood and thriving youth. With over $10 million awarded since 2001, the Fund prioritizes creative and impactful programs that support vulnerable populations, particularly in Park and Gallatin Counties and Indigenous communities. Saint Luke's Foundation offers Staff Discretionary Grants to organizations addressing health disparities in Cuyahoga County. The Foundation prioritizes innovative approaches to health equity, with a commitment to responsive grantmaking that addresses the social determinants of health. The International Exchanges: Cost Share Programme Scheme, funded by The Royal Society, aims to foster new research collaborations between UK scientists and their international counterparts. This initiative encourages diversity and aims to create equitable opportunities for talented researchers from various backgrounds, enhancing innovation in science for global benefit.

The Phoenixville Health Care Foundation (PCHF) offers an Annual Grant Cycle aimed at enhancing health and human services in the Greater Phoenixville region. This initiative focuses on equitable access to quality services, mental health and substance abuse support, housing security, and capacity-building for nonprofits. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations operating within designated townships in Chester and Montgomery Counties. PCHF seeks to foster community well-being through strategic investments and collaborative efforts.
