Public school districts and other K–12 education providers in California can apply for the California Department of Education’s Career Technical Education Incentive Grant to support high-quality career and technical education programs. Funding may benefit vocational and trade education pathways that prepare students for employment, postsecondary education, and related vocational rehabilitation outcomes.

Students in California pursuing vocational, technical, community college, or other higher education can receive US $1,000 - US $5,000 for tuition and related costs through the Wendy Rankin Memorial Scholarship Fund. Administered by The San Diego Foundation, this scholarship supports San Diego County residents with spinal injuries and financial need, including those facing gender-based barriers, in vocational and trade education.

U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits providing vocational, post-secondary, or adolescent education and health programs, including those in California, can apply for US $10,000 - US $75,000 to expand proven initiatives. L B Research and Education Foundation favors small to medium organizations addressing opportunity gaps with innovative, research-informed approaches and multi-year engagement, using a rolling, concept-paper-first process.

Skilled Trades Scholarship

The Skilled Trades Scholarship benefits graduating high school seniors, GED recipients and current community college students pursuing training and certification in Career Education or Career Technical Education Pathways at Napa Valley College, Santa Rosa Junior College, or Solano Community College. Recipients of the scholarship will receive funding for up to two years while working to complete their certification or degree.

California K–12 local education agencies seeking to build or enhance career technical education pathways can apply for grants up to US $2,000,000 to create, improve, or expand K–14 CTE programs. Foundation for California Community Colleges administers K12 Strong Workforce funds supporting partnerships with community colleges and industry, benefiting vocational and trade education and workforce readiness.

California vocational and trade education students in accredited dental assistant programs can receive up to US $5,000 for tuition, plus mentorship and on-the-job training. Pacific Dental Services Foundation’s Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarship supports U.S. citizens or legal residents over 18 with strong academics, financial need, and a demonstrated heart for service.

California 501(c)(3) nonprofits offering vocational and workforce education, job readiness, or related economic advancement programs can apply for grants that support work, home, and play initiatives. Grants from US Bancorp Foundation help organizations in designated U.S. Bank communities expand workforce preparation, financial literacy, and career pathways, with priority for groups led by people of color and advancing equity.

College and trade students in California pursuing construction-related vocational, apprenticeship, or degree programs can receive scholarship support for safety-focused training. Grants from Associated General Contractors of California help those in certified training, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or two- and four-year programs in fields like construction management, civil engineering, and occupational health and safety, which may benefit vocational rehab pathways.

California 501(c)(3) nonprofits with at least three years of operation and a $100,000+ budget can seek funding for workforce preparation, vocational training, youth development, and related programs. RBC Foundation USA provides support to organizations in California communities where RBC Wealth Management has a business presence and active community involvement.

Individuals formerly in the San Joaquin County foster care system pursuing college or vocational and trade education in California can receive US $5,000 - US $12,000 for tuition, living costs, and related expenses. Mary Graham Children's Foundation also offers mentoring, social support, and renewable, case-by-case scholarships once other financial aid sources are applied.

California 501(c)(3) nonprofits and eligible government entities can seek funding for workforce development, sustainability, and thriving community programs through Marathon Petroleum. The Community Investment Grants support vocational and trade education, STEM education, basic needs, disaster preparedness, and related initiatives, with preference for projects in communities where the company has a significant operational and employee presence.

California apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs needing childcare support for participants in vocational and trade training in California can access funding through the California Department of Industrial Relations. Grants of US $200,000 - US $1,500,000 support childcare stipends, coordination, or in-house care, and may benefit vocational rehabilitation efforts for women, non-binary, and underserved populations entering construction careers.

Roche Corporate Donations and Philanthropy (CDP) focuses on impactful projects that foster sustainable development, engage employees, and leverage Roche's expertise. Their philanthropic efforts prioritize humanitarian, educational, environmental, and cultural initiatives, aiming to build stronger communities and support innovative projects. Eligibility is limited to local organizations, while ineligible projects include those with political or religious ties. The foundation strives to create a positive societal impact through collaboration and strategic partnerships.

Rita M Medeiros (Rita's Closet) Scholarship

The purpose of the Rita's Closet Scholarship is to honor the memory of Rita Marie Medeiros by providing scholarship (s) for graduating seniors at any public High School in Carroll County, Maryland, and the Carroll County Career and Technology Center. Because Rita was a very caring friend and spent much of her short life, giving others her time, her friendship and ultimately her organ donor gift, the Rita's Closet Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student (s) pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college, university or technical school who meets the criteria established for the fund.

The Battle Creek Public Schools Education Foundation board has established the Always A Bearcat Scholarship Fund to fill a need for scholarship support beyond the first year of college. Despite the advantages of a recurring scholarship, the majority of scholarships are, in fact, one-time awards. This leaves sophomores, juniors, and seniors - not to mention graduate students - in search of critical funding to complete their degrees. The Always A Bearcat Scholarship Fund supports upperclassmen, graduate students, and/or adults seeking skilled trades certificates and degrees, helping these students cross the finish line and get into their careers.

American Business Women's Association Unity Chapter Education Fund

The American Business Women's Association Unity Chapter Education Scholarship is for high school graduates or non-traditional students residing in Calhoun County and who will be attending a community college, university or technical school. Students enrolling in their second year at that community college or sophomore, junior or senior year at a university and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible. Nontraditional or returning students must have one semester of an established GPA of 2.5 or higher.

ASMO Manufacturing, Inc. Scholarship Fund

The ASMO Manufacturing, Inc. Scholarship was established to provide scholarships to graduates or graduating seniors from the Battle Creek area seeking educational opportunities beyond high school. The eligible recipients are dependent children or regular employees of ASMO Manufacturing, Inc. "Employees" may be the parent, legal guardian, stepmother, or stepfather of the dependent child. Retirees and former spouses are excluded from these criteria. The recipient must be a high school graduate or a G.E.D. recipient who has been accepted to a college or university in the fall, or students who are already pursuing a full-time course of study at an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college, university, or vocational-technical school. There is a minimum GPA of 2.5. Selection criteria will be based on academic achievement, career plans, and involvement in school and community activities.

Kaleigh Woodman Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Kaleigh Woodman Memorial Fund was established in memory of Kaleigh Woodman who died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in December 2015. Kaleigh lit up a room with her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She was a Tomboy Princess, a tough – never get hurt, I can do it outlook and a tender helpful, always willing to help no matter what the project attitude. Her Pennfield Schools and extended cheer families were a very important part of her life.  This Kaleigh Woodman Memorial Fund was established for the purpose of providing scholarships to greater Battle Creek area High School graduating seniors or graduates pursuing a post-secondary degree, certificate or technical training.

Gerald D. Barnes Family Scholarship Fund

Gerald D. Barnes, a 1942 Colon High School graduate, was a standout four-year varsity first baseman. Following high school, he attended Argubright Business College for one year. He married Vera H. Kellogg in 1944, a 1942 graduate of Battle Creek Central - one of only two of 13 siblings to graduate high school. Vera played baseball during the time men where off at war and Gerald often kept score for her team. Their honeymoon was spent at a Detroit Tigers game and their love of baseball continued their entire lives. In 1945, Gerald was drafted into the U.S. Army and they put his business education to good use processing soldiers coming home from WWII. As a veteran he had been called a hero, but disagreed stating, "Those who fought overseas were the true heroes." Once discharged in 1946, he wore a flag pin every day, proudly displaying his love of Country and rests forever with his pin over his heart.

Following his service, Gerald worked at Post Cereals Carton and Container Division in Battle Creek for 40 years. Higher education was not common amongst Gerald's generation, but he and Vera understood their children and grandchild would need it to succeed and to this end, supported their education in every way they could. Their daughter received a certificate from Kellogg Community College and retired from Battle Creek Public Schools after 44 years. Their son earned a Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University, and after serving our Country during the Vietnam conflict, earned his Master's from Utah State University. Their grand-daughter graduated from BCCHS 50 years to the day after Vera, and received her Bachelor's degree from Drury University. Through this scholarship, the Barnes family leaves a legacy that will support Battle Creek Public Schools graduates in obtaining higher education in a skilled trade field.

Ty Larson Fuller Scholarship Fund

The Ty Larson Fuller Scholarship Fund was established by the Fuller family and the Family Enrichment Center to honor the life of Ty Larson Fuller. Ty, was a young man with a determined spirit, who despite many challenges in his life, fought the odds to reach his goals. He also valued being a team player, building skills, and spending time with his family. This scholarship supports foster, adoptive, and kinship students under the age of 26 as they pursue higher education in the skilled trades.

Satish Koneru Scholarship Fund

Dr. Prasadarao and Lakshmi Koneru established this scholarship to honor their son, Satish Koneru, who died in 1985 at age 23. Satish was a graduate of Kimball High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. He attended Oakland University and was a student at Kellogg Community College. Satish is remembered as a considerate and compassionate young man who understood so much about his own life. He faced each day with courage and accomplished many of his personal goals. Even during the most difficult moments of his illness, he was able to unselfishly reflect on the love of his family, expressing his thoughts to a friend who would pass them along after his death. Recipients of this scholarship are graduating seniors with a physical limitation or disability from a greater Battle Creek area public school who is pursuing educational opportunities at a 2 or 4 year college, or a trade school, anywhere in the United States. The student must show academic performance and strong motivation for achieving personal goals.

The fund was established in Honor of the memory of Raymond J. Pontoni, past CEO of Nottawa Gardens Corporation and Athens Community Leader to assist Athens graduating seniors and adults seeking to further their education and business needs, through training programs in the skilled trades, associate degrees, apprenticeships, or certificate programs, and to help aid the creation and development of their Entrepreneural Goals and economic ventures.

Robert and Diana Williams Scholarship Fund

The Robert and Diana Williams Scholarship Fund was established to give more opportunities to those seeking to further their education through non-degreed training programs in the skilled trades, apprenticeship or certificate programs. The Williams' believe the skilled trades provide essential services for which there will always be a need and are the lifeblood of our country

Illinois Mutual Employees’ Children Scholarship Fund 

The Illinois Mutual Employees’ Children Scholarship Fund was established by Illinois Mutual Life Insurance Company to provide scholarship support for the children of employees who are graduating from high school or are undergraduate college or vocational students who will be enrolled full time.

Elias Eade Jr. Scholarship

This scholarship was created in honor and memory of Elias Eade Jr. by his children. Elias Eade Jr. was a lifetime resident of Olean who faithfully served God, his country, his family and the Olean community. Mr. Eade was a graduate of Olean High School and St. Bonaventure University and a member of the Olean business community for many years. Mr. Eade was an entrepreneur, leader and a man of great strength and integrity with an unprecedented work ethic. Candidates must be a graduating senior of a high school in Cattaraugus County with good academic standing and leadership skills and who plan to continue their education at a trade school or 2- or 4-year college or university. Candidates must answer an essay prompt of their choice from the three prompts provided by the fund advisors.

Community Foundation of Carroll County

The Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc. was established in 1994 to ensure financial support for Carroll County not-for-profit organizations. It is governed by a Board of Directors and is a 501c(3) public charity. The Community Foundation of Carroll County is trusted partner for donors and nonprofits. We provide one central place where anyone can create a charitable fund, support what matters most, and leave a legacy of lasting impact.

Scholarships

The Community Foundation of Carroll County supports more than 75 scholarships. These scholarships vary in the amounts they award and cover a wide variety of student interests. Qualifiers range from academic achievements, sports played, and community service performed, to 4-H and FFA involvement. While the majority are for graduating Carroll County high school seniors, there are several for students in college or technical school, and even opportunities for students attending private primary school. 

4-H Brenda Barber 4-H Family Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of The Brenda Barber Family Memorial Scholarship is to honor the life and family of Brenda Barber by providing scholarship(s) for graduating high school seniors and continuing students who are members of Carroll County 4-H Clubs. 

Applicants must be starting college in the fall OR current college student at any community college, trade school or four-year institution. The scholarship check will be written out and mailed directly to said college or trade school.
