All students, including those individuals who have pursued a non-traditional education path, will be considered for this scholarship.

The Tim Moffatt Career Advancement Award

This scholarship will be awarded to deserving students who are graduating from a WCPS high school, or are a non-traditional learner with equivalent education, who have been accepted into a trade school/program/apprenticeship, or who have enlisted in the military. 

Women’s Philanthropy Fund

In 2008, Amarillo Area Foundation and a group of community-minded women established the Women’s Philanthropy Fund (WPF) to address the needs of women and children in the Texas Panhandle. In 2022, the WPF moved from a membership-only model to the opportunity for ANY individual, family, or business with a passion to support the critical needs of women and children in our region, to contribute and have a direct impact on the well-being of women and children in the Texas Panhandle… in all areas of life. 

Our Mission

To transform the lives of women and children in the Texas Panhandle through fundraising, grant-making, and advocacy.

Grant award amounts will vary between $2,500 and $10,000. WPF is focused on the needs of women and children that serve an urgent or critical need and/or demonstrate unique solutions to time-worn problems and/or engage in bold new ventures. Eligible programs will address one or more of the focus areas described below, in a manner that creates impact, shows innovation, and involves others in a collaborative manner.

Organizations or programs should address:

Self-sufficiency: Programs that provide women with the skills and resources to be economically independent and self-sufficient. Examples of such programs may include but are not limited to:

• Access to emergency shelter or affordable housing;
• Access to affordable, quality day care and after school programs for children;
• Prevention of or assistance in overcoming homelessness or poverty;
• Transportation assistance;
• Education and training programs targeted toward job skills, budgeting and money management, parenting skills, etc.

Health and Safety: Programs that support the health and well-being of women and children and allow them to live in homes and communities without fear of violence. Examples of such programs may include but are not limited to:

• Healthcare-related education and awareness programs;
• Access to preventive medical screenings;
• Low or no-cost medical services for uninsured or medically needy women and children;
• Programs that instill leadership and build esteem in women/children.

Special Education Consolidated Grant Application (Federal)

IDEA-B Formula provides supplemental resources to help school systems ensure that eligible students (ages 3 through 21) with disabilities are provided with a free appropriate public education as required by federal statute. 

IDEA-B Preschool: provides supplemental resources to help school systems ensure that eligible students (ages 3 through 5) with disabilities are provided with a free appropriate public education as required by federal statute.

IDEA-B Discretionary Deaf helps ensure that eligible students (ages 3 through 21) with disabilities are provided with a free appropriate public education as required by federal statute.

• The grants in the Special Education Consolidated Grant Application (Federal) provide financial assistance to school systems to help them ensure that:
• They identify and provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to students with disabilities who are eligible for special education and related services.
• They protect the rights of students with disabilities and the rights of their parents3
• They design individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the needs of students with disabilities and prepare those students for further education, employment, and independent living.

Taka Domingo HLP Vocational Scholarship

The HLP Hamakua Community Foundation is a non-profit organization that was formed to benefit the people of Hamakua. Taka Domingo was one of the original board members when HLP was established after the closure of sugar. He was an electrician and County Councilman representing the Hamakua District. The Taka Domingo HLP Vocational Scholarship was established after his death in August 2016. 

Individual award amount: $2,000. 

Possible trades include: welding, tourism, fire science, electrical, early childhood education, agriculture, auto body, auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, carpentry, culinary and others not listed.

Pfizer supports the global healthcare community’s independent initiatives (e.g., research, quality improvement or education) to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need that are aligned with Pfizer’s medical and/or scientific strategies.

Pre-clinical Investigation of anti-TFPI-mediated Rebalancing Mechanisms in Non-Hemophilic Bleeding Disorders

There remains a scientific gap in understanding of the role of anti-TFPImediated hemostatic rebalancing in the context of inherited or non-hemophilic bleeding disorders. This competitive grant program encourages competitive submissions focsed on generating preclinical/foundational data exploring the therapeutic potential and mechanisms of TFPI modulation in bleeding disorders other than hemophilia.

Funding

• Individual projects requesting up to $50,000 USD will be considered. Request for study drug or compound is allowed (max $50,000 USD), additionally to the study project costs.
• Maximum project length is 1 year.

Texas Education Agency

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The Texas Education Agency improves outcomes for all public school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems. TEA helps deliver education to more than 5 million students under the leadership of the commissioner of education. The TEA operational costs are supported by both state and federal funds. The Texas Education Agency administers federal and state grant awards to its subgrantees to carry out a program. Such entities include primarily school systems (referred to as local educational agencies [LEAs] in statutes), including independent school districts and charter schools; education service centers (ESCs); and, to a lesser degree, institutions of higher education (IHEs), nonprofit organizations (NPOs), and other statutorily allowable organizations.

2026-2027 Texas Strategic Compensation for ESCs Grant (TSCEG)

TEA’s Strategic Priority 1 is to Recruit, Support, and Retain Teachers and Principals. Achieving this priority entails supporting school systems in developing and implementing strategic compensation systems utilizing funds obtained through participation in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) as well as local school systems dollars. The 2026-2027 Texas Strategic Compensation for ESCs Grant (TSCEG) seeks to engage Educational Service Centers (ESC) to provide direct on-going support to school systems as they replace the traditional step-and-ladder compensation system based on years of experience with a system based on performance that supports and rewards principals, assistant principals, and teachers who demonstrate effective teaching practices that result in increased student achievement.

Specifically, this grant entails hiring a Regional Assistant Superintendent of Talent (RAST) at the ESC level and engaging with a TIA approved Technical Assistance Provider. The RAST will engage directly on-site with the identified school system(s) supporting the development of a strategic compensation system, implementation of the TIA, and engaging with the school system around other state objectives developed to increase educator retention and recruitment. The RAST will engage with the Education Service Center building capacity to support strategic compensation systems and TIA in school systems across the region with an emphasis on supporting other school systems in adopting and amending their TIA spending plans in preparation for Enhanced TIA. 

The purpose of the 2026–2027 Legal Framework grant is to support statewide access to high quality technical assistance and training related to the legal framework of special education through the provision and maintenance of an updated, web based platform. The platform is designed to assist stakeholders—including school systems, advocates, and parents—in understanding and applying state and federal special education laws and regulations.

The program promotes consistent interpretation and implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related state requirements by providing comprehensive, accessible resources that explain the rights of students with disabilities and the obligations of school systems to provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).

Program goals include increasing educator and administrator knowledge of applicable legal requirements, strengthening local implementation practices, and providing timely, accurate, and reliable guidance to support effective special education decision making statewide.

St. Ignace Area Community Foundation: CTE Technical Scholarship

The St. Ignace Community Fund annually awards scholarships assisting students with higher education, technical training, vocational training or retraining based largely on acknowledgement of student responsibility, community service, and civic involvement. These Scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors to the various accounts within the St. Ignace Area Community Fund. Some accounts specifically are awarded to recognize higher education in the areas of special education, vocational/technical careers, teaching, law enforcement, and health care.

Scholarship Application Info:  

Greater Houston Community Foundation administers over 60 different scholarship programs, each with differing eligibility requirements. Eligibility for some scholarships may be dependent on employment, course of study, high school, or college. 

Bratcher Family Foundation Scholarship

This is a renewable scholarship, meaning recipients can renew the award for multiple years funding if they meet the GPA and enrollment requirements and complete the renewal application for each academic year they plan to be enrolled.

About the Scholarship Award

• One (1) new scholarship awarded annually. Scholarship award amounts and renewal durations vary by degree type:
  • 4-year degree at a college/university - $6,000 per academic year
    • Renewable for up to four (4) years of funding maximum ($24,000 in total), as long as the student meets renewal requirements
• 2-year degree at a trade school/community college - $4,000 per academic year
  • Renewable for up to two (2) years of funding maximum ($8,000 in total), as long as the student meets renewal requirements

What can the scholarship be used for?

• The scholarship will be mailed directly to the student's college to be used towards tuition, required academic fees, and/or book expenses. 
• Scholarship funding cannot be distributed directly to the student. Funding cannot be used for room and board, rent, meal plans, parking passes, or other similar living expenses.

Are there any requirements I must meet if I'm selected as a scholarship recipient?

• Recipients must attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school in the United States.
• Recipients must enroll in at least 12 credit hours for both the fall and spring semesters (or be enrolled full-time according to your school if it is on a different system).
• Recipients must submit college enrollment information online through GHCF Scholar the summer before the academic year begins. This information is required in order for the scholarship check to be mailed to the student's college. Instructions will be included in the student's award letter.
• Recipients must meet certain criteria in order to receive subsequent annual awards (i.e., renewals): maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester, and complete the renewal application for each academic year they planned to be enrolled.

Bright Minds Scholarship

The Bright Minds Scholarship, in conjunction with the Salem Five Charitable Foundation, supports academic excellence and community leadership across Essex and Middlesex counties. We recognize that the journey to a four-year degree requires significant dedication—and significant resources.

To support that journey, we provide a scholarship award designed to make a real-world impact on the cost of higher education.

The Award

• 5 Scholars Selected Annually: Each year, we name five exceptional students as Bright Minds Scholars.
• Up to $20,000 total: Awarded as $5,000 annually over four years of undergraduate study.
• Maintain good academic standing to receive support throughout your entire bachelor's degree program.

The Salem Five Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Scholarship awards are granted without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability. Final selection of scholarship recipients is at the sole discretion of the Salem Five Executive Committee in partnership with the Phillips Scholarship Fund.

Texas Coastal Management Program Grant Application

The Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office is soliciting applications for projects that address environmental concerns and promote economic development within the Texas coastal zone. The Coastal Management Program (CMP) Grant Cycle 32 involves a competitive application process for applicants applying for either NOAA-funded or Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) funded projects.

CMP NOAA Projects

The CMP awards two types of NOAA CZMA funds- §306 administrative funding and §306A coastal resource improvement program funding, with conditions.

CZMA §306 Administrative Funds

§306 projects do not involve land acquisition, construction, or any earth-moving activities. These projects involve data collection, planning, surveys, mapping, aerial photography, or research. §306 projects MUST directly implement a funding priority listed in the Funding Priorities section. During application review, CMP Review Team members will be required to confirm the exact agency goal or initiative the project will contribute to and explain how data collected during a proposed §306 data collection project will be used.

Texas Coastal Management Program Grant Application

The Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office is soliciting applications for projects that address environmental concerns and promote economic development within the Texas coastal zone. The Coastal Management Program (CMP) Grant Cycle 32 involves a competitive application process for applicants applying for either NOAA-funded or Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) funded projects.

CMP NOAA Projects

The CMP awards two types of NOAA CZMA funds- §306 administrative funding and §306A coastal resource improvement program funding, with conditions.

CZMA §306A Coastal Resource Improvement Program Funds

§306A projects involve land acquisition, small-scale construction, or small-scale earth moving activities.

Due to NOAA’s prescribed 18-month project timeline and the number of environmental clearances construction with NOAA funds requires, CMP only funds the following types of §306A projects:

• Engineering, design, and permitting for future construction projects
• Small-scale construction of fully permitted projects, i.e. shovel ready
• Land acquisition

Texas Coastal Management Program Grant Application

CMP GOMESA Projects

These projects are funded entirely with GOMESA money and are meant to address large-scale and construction-based coastal issues. CMP GOMESA projects focused on earth-moving construction, restoration, preservation, or land acquisition will be prioritized. CMP GOMESA can fund public access projects that provide physical conveyance and access to the beach environment or protect and preserve beach and dune habitat. Projects can include dune walkovers, parking areas, restrooms, rinse stations, trailsystems and non-commercial piers.

Access to these structures should be free and open to the public. Structures and activities not directly related to preserving habitat or physically conveying public access, such as buildings, playgrounds, or other similar enhancements, are not eligible for funding. Demolition projects (i.e. removal of existing parking lots, structures, facilities) are not permitted unless the structures are prohibiting public access, are on the public beach easement, or represent a contamination/pollution threat to coastal natural resources. Commercial pier, commercial marina, and wastewater treatment plant construction are not eligible. CMP GOMESA projects can focus on non-construction/earth-moving activities but, in these situations, the work proposed should be large-scale and regional in nature. Most non-construction work will be funded with NOAA money.

Beginning this year, construction/earth-moving CMP GOMESA projects should be submitted in phases instead of in their entirety. This change will ensure timely completion of project goals without the need for contract time extensions and to accommodate extended permitting timelines often seen with coastal construction projects. Construction/earth-moving CMP GOMESA projects should be applied for in accordance with the following phases, as applicable:

• Phase 1 – feasibility study, alternatives analysis, preliminary design
• Phase 2 – permitting and final design
• Phase 3 – construction, closeout
• Phase 4 – monitoring, as needed
