The Dollar General Literacy Foundation offers Adult Literacy Grants to support organizations providing essential literacy services to adults. Allison’s Gift: A Scholarship for Birthmothers

Scholarship Eligibility

• Birthmothers that have placed their child for adoption
• Preference for a birthmother who is a resident of Florida or has placed the child/children with adoptive parents in Florida
• Demonstrates financial need
• To be used for post high school continuing education, vocational, college or university. School must be accredited, non-profit, and in the United States
• Scholarship may be used for tuition, room and board, books and other education-related expenses
• Recipient must maintain a GPA of 2.0 at the institution where the scholarship is being used

The PAAoS Scholarship Award Program, initiated by the Polish-American Association of Sarasota, Inc., aims to enhance the understanding of Polish culture among American students of Polish descent. The Gordon J. Barnett Memorial Foundation, established in 1955, supports educational initiatives in Florida, Indiana, New York, and Oklahoma. It prioritizes funding for tax-exempt organizations, including primary schools, universities, and trade schools. The foundation does not fund political campaigns or individuals. Grants are aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and preventing cruelty to children and animals, reflecting the foundation's commitment to charitable and educational purposes.

The Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarships, offered by the Pacific Dental Services Foundation, provide financial aid of up to $5,000 for eligible dental assistant students. The FAWQC, established in 1978, relies on donations and event proceeds to fund these important educational efforts aimed at improving Florida's water quality.
