About
THE DOAN FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the overlooked—underserved youth, emerging creatives, and grassroots cultural organizations. Through scholarships, artist grants, and cultural sponsorships, we provide access, resources, and recognition to those too often unseen. By investing in creativity as a force for healing, identity, and community, we ensure that the arts remain vital, visible, and accessible across Southern California.
Roots & Resilience Artist Grant
This grant provides artists or arts & culture organizations from Southern California with $1,000 each to bring impactful projects to life – projects that address social issues, mental health, uplift underrepresented voices, and inspire healing and connection within communities. By investing in these creatives, The Doan Foundation aims to preserve powerful stories, strengthen cultural understanding, and drive change.
The Roots & Resilience Artist Grant Program reflects our commitment to empowering artists as changemakers, using their craft to inspire and unite us all.
Together, we’re building a brighter future through the transformative power of art.

PLTW Gateway (6-8) opens paths that create meaningful futures. It connects students to careers in areas they can, and can't, imagine. Through explorations of skilled trades, coding and robotics, flight and space, human body systems, and more, PLTW Gateway fuels students’ passion for discovery. As they engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges, students use and stretch their imaginations in brand-new ways that connect their learning to life. All the while, students step into roles spanning the career landscape—a crucial experience during this transitional time in their lives, long before they enter their degreed or skilled trade professions.

PLTW Launch (PreK-5)
Young learners are naturally wired for discovery. PLTW Launch is designed with activities that let them see what they can be and build skills to discover what they can do. Students are immersed in hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. They experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more. Throughout the modules, even the youngest learners apply their math and English Language Arts (ELA) skills, learn science to standards, and adopt skills that are foundational across disciplines.
