Mission:The Mayer Foundation was incorporated in March 2002 as a New York nonprofit corporation. The core mission of the Foundation is as follows:

• to make economic relief grants to needy individuals who are distressed or suffering as a result of poverty, low income or lack of financial resources,  including as a result of natural or civil disasters, or from temporary impoverishment, loss of employment, death of incapacity of a family wage earner or damage to home and property to provide health care to those who cannot afford health care or whose health insurance or financial resources are insufficient to cover medial needs;
• to make grants to other IRS 501(C)(3) organizations for educational, literary, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, health-care related and other charitable purposes; and
• to award scholarship benefits and student aid to high school, college or graduate school students to enable the recipients to complete an undergraduate or graduate education in the field of their choice at the college or graduate school of their choice.

Grant Sizes:

Grant sizes vary but generally range around $2,000 per grant.

What does this program do?

This program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. An essential community facility is defined as a facility that provides an essential service to the local community for the orderly development of the community in a primarily rural area, and does not include private, commercial or business undertakings.

What is an eligible area?

Rural areas including cities, villages, townships and towns including Federally Recognized Tribal Lands with no more than 20,000 residents according to the latest U.S. Census Data are eligible for this program.

How may funds be used?

Funds can be used to purchase, construct, and / or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment and pay related project expenses.

Examples of essential community facilities include:

• Health care facilities such as hospitals, medical clinics, dental clinics, nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
• Public facilities such as town halls, courthouses, airport hangars or street improvements.
• Community support services such as child care centers, community centers, fairgrounds or transitional housing.
• Public safety services such as fire departments, police stations, prisons, police vehicles, fire trucks, public works vehicles or equipment.
• Educational services such as museums, libraries or private schools.
• Utility services such as telemedicine or distance learning equipment.
• Local food systems such as community gardens, food pantries, community kitchens, food banks, food hubs or greenhouses.

Grant Approval

Applicant must be eligible for grant assistance, which is provided on a graduated scale with smaller communities with the lowest median household income being eligible for projects with a higher proportion of grant funds. Grant assistance is limited to the following percentages of eligible project costs:

Maximum of 75 percent when the proposed project is:

• Located in a rural community having a population of 5,000 or fewer; and
• The median household income of the proposed service area is below the higher of the poverty line or 60 percent of the State nonmetropolitan median household income.

Maximum of 55 percent when the proposed project is:

• Located in a rural community having a population of 12,000 or fewer; and
• The median household income of the proposed service area is below the higher of the poverty line or 70 percent of the State nonmetropolitan median household income.

Maximum of 35 percent when the proposed project is:

• Located in a rural community having a population of 20,000 or fewer; and
• The median household income of the proposed service area is below the higher of the poverty line or 80 percent of the State nonmetropolitan median household income.

Maximum of 15 percent when the proposed project is:

• Located in a rural community having a population of 20,000 or fewer; and
• The median household income of the proposed service area is below the higher of the poverty line or 90 percent of the State nonmetropolitan median household income. The proposed project must meet both percentage criteria. Grants are further limited.

Mission

The DanPaul Foundation will use its resources to help train teachers and parents in early childhood development, protect children from abuse and neglect, stimulate children's personal social responsibilities, and offer them opportunities for enrichment and growth.

The Foundation will also encourage children to be concerned and informed about the environment and the underprivileged, particularly with regard to clean air and water, and adequate housing and nutrition for all.

The DanPaul Foundation believes that children should have ample opportunities for enrichment in their lives, and thus strives to provide many different ways to enrich and expand children's minds through direct programs and monetary support to organizations doing similar work.

We have provided or currently provide grants related to the following program areas:

• Workshops, Conferences, + Seminars: We strive to offer educational workshops, conferences, and seminars for parents and teachers on topics related to early childhood development.
• Student Scholarships: We aim to help students attending post-secondary education institutions by providing need-based and academic scholarships.
• Scientific Endeavors: We desire to advance scientific endeavors which seek to improve the quality of life for everyone in the world.
• Clean Air + Water: We hope to pass on knowledge and practical life skills to youth regarding their personal responsibility to the environment, teaching them about issues surrounding clean air and water.
• Child Advocacy: We believe in protecting children from abuse and neglect and particularly love to support programs that provide education and assistance to children as well as organizations advocating or caring for vulnerable children.
• Homelessness: We want to encourage young people to take a personal interest in seeing that adequate housing and proper nutrition, especially for the underprivileged and homeless, are available.
• Poverty + Neglect: We seek to help those in poverty as well as educate youth about their responsibility to consider the underprivileged and take care of those most in need of life's basic essentials like adequate housing and proper nutrition.
• Refugee Enrichment: We wish to help refugee youth by supporting programs that provide them enrichment and help them transition to life in a new country.

The DanPaul Foundation provides grants to 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organizations as defined by the IRS. The Foundation is interested in providing funding to programs that directly serve the health, education, development, and welfare of the world's youth.

Grants range from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000 per calendar year.

Identifying and incubating innovative early-stage solutions. We identify, incubate, and develop innovative early-stage solutions with the highest potential for impact. Global Impact Cash Grants go to nonprofit organizations (NPOs) and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that address a significant social problem. Our goals are to improve the lives of these people and give them the tools to break out of the cycle of poverty they live in.

Projects in this category include providing food and shelter to vulnerable populations (orphanages, old age homes); increasing children's access to education; improving the educational environment; empowering women & children; improving rural health outcomes; and, generally, uplifting disadvantaged communities.

Higher Education 

This category addresses the human quest to understand the physical world we live in, and the natural laws that govern it. This quest for knowledge is best nurtured in higher study programs of universities and research labs, and our goal is to motivate students to pursue these programs.

Projects under this category include providing financial support for deserving students through fellowships at well recognized universities and research labs.

Spirituality, Arts & Culture

This category addresses the non-materialistic aspects of human life and its power to nourish, inspire & uplift the human spirit. Hindu culture and spiritual viewpoints have evolved over many millenia, and our goal is to remember and preserve these roots, while at the same time promoting cultural integration and co-existence with other viewpoints.

Projects under this category include activities related to preserving the traditional roots of Hinduism by supporting ashrams/patashalas and temples, and promoting cultural integration by supporting programs that raise awareness of India's traditional art forms, and culture.

Environment

This category addresses the preservation of the environment we live in. The Earth sustains us and provides for us, and we need to preserve and nurture it for our sake and for the sake of future generations. Our goal is to fulfill our responsibility by taking care of the environment we live in.

Projects under this category include clean water management initiatives, planting trees, and other such activities.

Background

In 2014, the Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation directed a substantial portion of its grantmaking to programs that serve low-income infants, toddlers and preschoolers as they transition to kindergarten. Special emphasis is placed on programs that improve quality, expand services and create a strong continuum of care for children ages 0-3 in high-need neighborhoods.

Strategic investments in early childhood programs include the:

• expansion of evidence-based home visiting programs,
• infant health and mental health programs and
• professional development for center-based teachers, as well as home-based caregivers.

The Foundation is also committed to fund programs in neighborhoods with high levels of poverty and a large concentration of public housing. In addition to early childhood programs, the Foundation will support programs that:

• work to build a network of education,
• health and social services for children from birth through college graduation.

The Foundation also supports place-based efforts in neighborhoods with high levels of poverty and a large concentration of public housing. Place-based strategies are primarily led by an anchor organization that facilitates the transformation of fragmented services into a coordinated network of education, health and social services for children and their families.

The Foundation may also fund a limited number of programs of merit that will promote student success at the City University of New York.

The Foundation expects to make annual grants of approximately $2 million dollars.

Mission

The mission of the Hearst Foundations is to identify and fund outstanding nonprofits to ensure that people of all backgrounds in the United States can build healthy, productive and satisfying lives. Through its grantmaking, the Hearst Foundations support well-established nonprofit organizations that address significant issues within their major areas of focus—culture, education, health and social service—and that primarily serve large demographic and/or geographic constituencies. In each area of funding, the Foundations seek to identify those organizations achieving truly differentiated results relative to other organizations making similar efforts for similar populations. The Foundations also look for evidence of sustainability beyond their support.

Culture Grant

The Hearst Foundations fund cultural institutions that offer meaningful programs in the arts and sciences, prioritizing those that enable engagement by young people and create a lasting and measurable impact. The Foundations also fund select programs nurturing and developing artistic talent. Supported organizations include arts schools, ballets, museums, operas, performing arts centers, symphonies and theaters.

Funding Priorities in Culture

In the recent past, 25% of total funding has been allocated to Culture. Organizations with budgets over $10 million have received 60% of the funding in Culture.

The Hearst Foundations are only able to fund approximately 25% of all grant requests, of which about 80% is directed to prior grantees and about 20% is targeted toward new grantees.

Our Mission

The mission of the Foundation's health care program is to improve the health care and overall quality of life for the elderly of New York City. Our success will be measured by the positive impact that the program has on people's lives.

Our Approach

The Foundation's Healthy Aging Program primarily funds patient-based and social service activities that directly help the older adults of New York City. We will consider funding high quality, direct service providers who:

• Increase/enhance access and availability of support, care or services especially for those with acute or chronic illness and those requiring palliative care.
• Create positive, measurable changes in quality.
• Demonstrate more cost-effective ways of delivering needed services.
• Develop programs and provide services to those who are traditionally underserved, such as immigrant and economically disadvantaged older adults.
• Increase the availability and quality of programs that allow us to remain in our homes and delay the need for long-term institutional care.
• Improve the quality-of-life of older adults who are residents of long-term care facilities.
• Improve the way professionals (physicians, nurses, social workers) and paraprofessionals (nursing aides) care for older adults and help to increase the number of professionals and paraprofessionals who care for us as New Yorkers live longer and healthier lives.

Programs supported by the Foundation must meet a demonstrable need of New York City's aging population. They must be designed to deliver services or alter the behavior of either providers or consumers. They should meet current needs or lay the groundwork to meet future needs and must have the potential to become sustainable and self-sufficient without further funding from the Samuels Foundation. The Foundation is particularly concerned with the availability and quality of healthcare received by the elderly. Faced with the realization that the number of elderly people is growing, the Foundation is committed to using its grant funds to work toward changing the system for the better.

Priorities

We give priority to programs that will remain in place and grow once our funding has ended. Therefore, we are looking to fund programs that are sustainable in the following ways:

• ​The program continues to generate revenue, which supports the continued provision of services to older adults.
• The program is or will be eligible for, and takes advantage of reimbursement mechanisms either from insurance programs or federal, state or local entitlement programs.
• The program will reduce the overall costs of delivering direct services. These savings will enable the organization or institution to continue the program after the grant term.
• The program will continue with other grants or funding, and there is evidence that the organization has a track record of strong, continuing and reliable funding streams. 

The Sidney Stern Memorial Trust is devoted solely to the funding of charitable, scientific, medical and educational organizations.

Neighborhood Support

Our Vision: An Emotionally Well Community

In 2023, Trinity's Neighborhood Support team launched a grants program to make deeper investments into the emotional well-being of our community.

Marginalized and under-resourced communities face multiple, intersecting oppressions — from systemic racism and policing to poverty, underfunded public schools, and violence — that create toxic stress. We now have a well-established body of research demonstrating the significant and deteriorating impact of toxic stress on health and well-being, especially for children and families deprived of safety nets.

This dynamic was exacerbated dramatically by the pandemic, and continues to worsen, with communities and families managing the consequences of toxic stress with minimal to no resources. Their struggle is compounded by the lack of recognition and funding for programs that support a holistic, multi-generational approach to mental health.

Our goal with this new grants program is to help begin to fill this gap in funding, particularly for programs that take a well-rounded approach to emotional well-being with a focus on children.     

We seek to co-develop — alongside each neighborhood in Lower Manhattan — the necessary supports that help strengthen our communities and yield overall child, family, and community well being.

Our Focus: The Emotionally Well Child

The emotional well-being of children is directly tied to the functioning of their community, schools, caregivers, and the families with which they live. When relationships are reliably responsible and supportive, they can actually buffer children from the adverse effects of other stressors. Reducing stressors affecting children requires addressing the stresses on their families. When children are emotionally well, they’re better able to:

• Reach emotional milestones
• Reach developmental milestones
• Learn healthy social skills
• Learn how to cope when problems arise
• Have a positive quality of life
• Function at home and in school

Our Strategy: Resourcing Whole-Family Models of Care

With this special initiative, Trinity's Neighborhood Support team is maintaining our commitment to Lower Manhattan, specifically communities that lie south of 14th Street.  Our vision is an emotionally well community, with a strategic focus on the emotional well-being of children, from prenatal development through age 21.

Our funding strategy was developed to lift up models of care that embrace whole families, delivered by organizations that know and work in the community and who center the community in finding solutions.  

The relationship between three factors — family income and resources, education, and employment — consistently emerged as a driver of family well-being. This causal loop is virtuous (i.e., the more resources you have right now, the more you will have in the future) to the families with enough resources, and vicious for families without adequate resources (i.e., the fewer resources you have right now, the less you and your children will have in the future).

To truly thrive, families need to:

• Be able to navigate systems related to education, social services, and healthcare
• Obtain affordable, quality childcare
• Have the space to build community and deepen relationships

In partnership with the Neighborhood Council, Trinity determined that the strategic focus of its Neighborhood Support Grantmaking would be for holistic programs that support the emotional well-being of the whole family and focus on prevention and early intervention.

Downtown Fund 

The Downtown Fund provides targeted support for nonprofit organizations serving the Lower Manhattan area, dedicated to advancing the well-being of children, families, and the community. Funding focuses on initiatives related to education, health, social capital, and economic empowerment. Gifts ranging from $500 to $10,000 are available.

Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation collaborate with a wide range of nonprofit organizations that align with our strategic funding priorities. We prioritize our funding to activities and programs that have a broad reach and support the needs of underserved communities. We aspire to have a positive impact on the communities we serve by using our financial and volunteer resources and business expertise in collaboration with community organizations to help solve complex societal problems.

We may also support other local needs in eligible communities such as disaster relief, arts and culture, civic engagement, education, human and social services, and workforce development. However, opportunities are limited as our intent is to direct the majority of our giving within our major focus areas.

The Impact Fund awards recoverable grants to legal services nonprofits, private attorneys, and small law firms who seek to confront economic, environmental, racial, and social injustice. Since our founding in 1992, the Impact Fund has made more than 800 recoverable grants totaling more than $10 million for impact litigation. We award grants four times per year, most within the range of US$10,000 to US$50,000.

Social Justice

The Impact Fund provides grants and legal support to assist in human and civil rights cases. We have helped to change dozens of laws and win cases to improve the rights of thousands. The cases we are funding allege that:

• In Texas and North Carolina, incarcerated people with mental health disabilities are forced to remain in jail despite being found not guilty and unable to proceed with a criminal trial.
• In Orange County, California there are currently 13 gang injunctions under effect, which disproportionately affect young men of color.
• In Chicago, Illinois, the city’s homeless shelter program is inaccessible to people with disabilities.
• In Springfield, Oregon, the city and its police department used excessive force against Black Lives Matter protesters.
• In West Virginia, the state fails to protect children in foster care from abuse and neglect. 
• In Montana, voter suppression laws disadvantage young adults and give priority to gun owners.
• In Gary, Indiana, a gun manufacturer negligently marketed and distributed its guns, leading to an epidemic of gun violence in the city. 
• In Vancouver, British Columbia, the police perpetuate systemic discrimination against Indigenous people through bureaucratic measures.

Environmental Justice

The Impact Fund provides grants to support local litigation for environmental justice. These grants are for cases aiming to help people or communities who are affected by environmental harm or who lack access to basic environmental needs, such as clean water, clean air, adequate waste treatment, and green spaces. The cases we are funding allege that:

• In Centreville, Illinois, the city’s failure to maintain its sewer system has caused raw sewage to flood peoples’ homes, endangering the property and health of a predominantly Black community.
• In Fresno County, California, the California Department of Transportation approved a highway expansion project that would increase air pollution and traffic in one of the state’s most environmentally burdened communities.
• In downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the proposed expansion of a highway would divide the region's Black, Asian, and Latine neighborhoods and cause pollution and ill health.
• In North Dakota, the five-month closure of a highway in response to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests disproportionately affected the livelihoods and health of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe members.
• In Ontario, Canada, mercury contamination of the English-Wabigoon river system causes catastrophic environmental and health impacts for the Grassy Narrows First Nation.
• In Sacramento, California, the county government and Sacramento Area Sewer District violated the Clean Water Act by discharging raw sewage into nearby rivers.
• In the Eastern Coachella Valley in California, 1,900 residents of the Oasis Mobile Home Park suffer from arsenic-laced drinking water, wastewater contamination, and overcharging for utilities.

Economic Justice

The Impact Fund provides financial and other forms of support to cases fighting for economic justice. From workers' rights to consumer protection for vulnerable populations, impact litigation is a powerful tool to hold corporationss and the government accountable. The cases we are funding allege that:

• In Brooklyn, New York, a prominent mortgage lender engaged in predatory practices, leaving homeowners of color at risk of losing their homes. 
• In Washington, live-in caregivers are unconstitutionally excluded from the state’s wage-and-hour protections.
• In Ravalli County, Montana, the county has created a “modern-day debtors’ prison” by incarcerating people unable to afford pre-trial fees. 
• In San Diego, California, vehicle ordinances target unhoused vehicle owners even when no adequate housing alternative exists.
• In New York, a federal immigration detention facility is violating minimum wage and forced labor laws by forcing detainees to work for just a dollar a day. 
• In Minneapolis, Minnesota, the city and county destroy the property of unhoused individuals and conduct forced evictions from public spaces. 
• In Miami, Florida, insurance companies discriminate against a nonprofit community development corporation renting to tenants with Section 8 rental subsidies.

About the New York State Department of Health

The New York State Department of Health (the Department) has been overseeing the health, safety, and well-being of New Yorkers since 1901 – from vaccinations to utilizing new developments in science as critical tools in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Rehabilitation Management and Services for the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose

Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), the New York State Department of Health (the Department) is seeking competitive proposals from qualified bidders to provide the management of and therapy staff for the Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Department at the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose (NYSVH), as further detailed in Section 4.0 (Scope of Work). It is the Department’s intent to award one (1) contract from this procurement.

Introductory Background

The NYS Veterans Home at Montrose (NYSVH) is a 252-bed long- term care skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility owned and operated by the New York State Department of Health. NYSVH is a state-of-the art facility serving qualified Veterans of the United Stated Armed Services and their qualified dependents. The facility is located in Northern Westchester County, roughly 35 miles north of New York City on the grounds of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Franklin D. Roosevelt VA Medical Center.

The facility is organized into six (6) care units, each accommodating 42 residents, with two units specifically designated for memory care.

New York State Office of Mental Health

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) oversees a large multi-faceted mental health system serving nearly 800,000 individuals each year. This includes operating 23 psychiatric centers and overseeing the Nathan S. Kline Institute and New York Psychiatric Institute. OMH regulates and certifies more than 6,500 programs operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies.

Partial Hospitalization Programs for Children

Partial hospitalization is an alternative to inpatient care. Patients continue to live at home but go to a treatment center during the day.

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH or “Office” herein after) announces the availability of funds for the expansion of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for children and adolescents throughout New York State. OMH is proposing to expand access to PHPs across New York state by targeting those Economic Development Regions (EDRs) that do not have this service or where a need exists, but the current number of programs does not meet the communities’ need. 

The goal of this award is to expand access to services for children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families at a critical time in their lives which they need to thrive and remain engaged in the community.

This RFP is intended for providers seeking OMH licensure to operate a new Partial Hospitalization Program for Children and providers holding an OMH license for a Partial Hospitalization Program currently only serving adults, looking to update the Operating Certificate by adding a new Partial Hospitalization Program for Children. This RFP is not open to current providers of PHP for Children looking to increase the number of available slots within an existing program.

Foist Family Perseverance Scholarship Fund

The mission of the Foist Family Perseverance Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to adult learners or graduating high school seniors of a high school in Berkshire County, MA, who are pursuing a career in health care/sciences (clinical or research), including nutrition/dietician, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and neuropsychology. 

Specialization of Children’s Community Residence for Transition Age Youth with or at Risk of Child Welfare Involvement RFP (NY)

The Office of Mental Health announces available funds for Children’s Community Residences (CCRs). The funding will target CCR programs for Transition Age Youth with or at Risk of Child Welfare Involvement.

Children’s Community Residences are 8 bed short term home-like therapeutic programs. They are for youth with serious emotional disturbance due to a mental health diagnosis. CCRs offer a rehabilitative treatment setting that provides:

• supervision
• structure
• care coordination
• skill building
• behavior support

The goal of a CCR is to assist youth in a successful transition to less restrictive settings so they can continue their recovery journey.

Funding

OMH is seeking to award up to $275,000 to CCR programs in each OMH region to specialize in transition age youth with or at risk of child welfare involvement to those providers currently operating OMH licensed CCRs statewide.

• One award will be made to each awardee for a five-year total amount each of $1,125,000 for Option A or $1,375,000 for Option B.
• Annual funding for each of the 5 year(s) is $ 225,000 for Option A awardees and $275,000 for Option B awardees.

The Lawrence Foundation is a private family foundation focused on making grants to support environmental, human services and other causes.

The Lawrence Foundation was established in mid-2000. We make both program and operating grants and do not have any geographical restrictions on our grants. Nonprofit organizations that qualify for public charity status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or other similar organizations are eligible for grants from The Lawrence Foundation.  

Grant Amount and Types

Grants typically range between $5,000 - $10,000. In some limited cases we may make larger grants, but that is typically after we have gotten to know your organization over a period of time. We also generally don’t make multi-year grants, although we may fund the same organization on a year by year basis over a period of years.

General operating or program/project grant requests within our areas of interests are accepted. In general, regardless of whether a grant request is for general operating or program/project expenses, all of our grants will be issued as unrestricted grants.

Tabor Foundation Fund

Who can apply: Residents of northwest Litchfield County, Conn., northeast Dutchess County, N.Y., or southeast Columbia County, N.Y., who plan to undertake education or training in a health care or medical field (nursing, EMT, physical therapy, counseling, etc.) and to seek employment in their community afterwards. Non-residents working in the area may also apply.

The committee will review requests for scholarships according to the following criteria:

• Impact of funding on the applicant’s ability to attain a health care qualification
• Ability of the applicant to move forward in his/her career through attainment of a health care qualification
• Commitment of the applicant to a healthcare career in the communities that serve Northwest CT or Northeast Dutchess County

Community Partnership Award

The Mutual of America Foundation Community Partnership Award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good.

Each year, the Mutual of America Foundation sponsors a national competition in which hundreds of organizations demonstrate the value of their partnership to the communities they serve, their ability to be replicated by others and their capacity to stimulate new approaches to addressing significant social issues.

Six organizations are selected by an independent committee to receive the Community Partnership Award.

• The Thomas J. Moran Award is given to the national award-winning program and includes $100,000 and a documentary video about the program.
• The Frances R. Hesselbein Award is given to a partnership that is addressing social challenges in more than one community, or which demonstrates the potential to be replicated in other communities. This recipient receives $75,000.
• Four other organizations are named Honorable Mention recipients for their programs, and each receives $50,000.

Since its inception in 1996, the Community Partnership Award has recognized 262 partnerships from cities and towns across America. Like so many of our clients working in the nonprofit community, Mutual of America is dedicated to having a direct, positive impact on society.

Gupta Family Foundation is a private, nonprofit foundation headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, USA. Our mission is to support organizations that provide focused intervention in the lives of people who have been disadvantaged in some way to help them become self-reliant. New York Fellowship

The New York Fellowship is a six-month program that offers artists, scholars, and arts professionals from Asia a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich and varied cultural life of New York City and the United States, and to develop their artistic practices and perspectives from this cultural immersion experience.

What does the New York Fellowship offer? 

Freedom to ExploreA New York Fellowship is a valuable and rare pause in the day-to-day activities of an artist, scholar, or arts professional, giving them a chance to dive into a new, rich cultural landscape–it is not a residency or a public relations or performance tour.

• New York Fellows, motivated by their own research and cultural exchange objectives, will spend six months visiting arts and cultural institutions in New York City and around the U.S., attending performances, exhibitions, meeting with other arts professionals, scholars, and members of the local community, participating in workshops and discussions, conducting archival research, and more.
• ACC hopes that New York Fellows will use the learnings and insights from this cultural exchange experience to shape their own practice and later contribute to larger artistic and cultural communities back home.

Peer-Learning and ExchangeNew York Fellows will join a cohort of fellow artists, scholars, and arts professionals.  

• Cohort members come from different countries, territories, and regions in Asia, have diverse artistic backgrounds and experiences, and have varying research and cultural exchange objectives.  
• Through group activities and exploration of New York’s arts and cultural communities, New York Fellows have a unique experience learning from each other and developing bonds that can last a lifetime.

Activities and EventsNew York Fellows have the opportunity to participate in diverse activities during their six-month program.  

• Informed by fellows’ interests and areas of practice, ACC will organize group activities that may include visits to arts and cultural institutions, performances, exhibitions, discussions with local artists and arts professionals from diverse disciplines, and gatherings with local ACC alumni.  
• New York Fellowship cohorts also often co-organize their own group activities, visits, trips, and meals around the city.  
• In addition to the scheduled group activities, ACC staff will share a curated, bi-monthly (every other month) events bulletin with recommended exhibitions, performances, festivals, and other cultural events in New York City.

Individualized SupportACC offers New York Fellows “office hour” appointments during which they can meet with our staff to brainstorm and receive feedback on their fellowship research and activities.

• ACC is committed to making connections between current New York Fellows and ACC alumni who have shared interests and relevant expertise and can offer advice.
• Staff can connect New York Fellows with resources, potential contacts, and information to advance their research.
• Fellows can contact ACC Program Staff to schedule office hours as desired throughout their six-month stay.

International HouseNew York Fellows are also given the opportunity to reside at the International House (I-House) during their fellowship.  

• I-House is a residential learning community located in New York City's vibrant Morningside Heights neighborhood.  
• New York Fellows who choose and are admitted to I-House (subject to availability) will be provided a studio apartment and access to a variety of amenities, including a fitness center, laundry facilities, a dining hall, health and wellness services, study and practice spaces, as well as event programming organized by I-House.  
• I-House residents will have their housing fee deducted directly from their ACC grant in advance of their arrival, meaning New York Fellows who are I-House residents will not need to process their housing payment on their own.

Independent Housing Option 

New York Fellows are not required to reside at I-House and may secure their own housing arrangements. However, please note that ACC is unable to provide assistance with independent housing searches, negotiate rental agreements, or serve as a guarantor. ACC is not liable for New York Fellows’ independent housing decisions.

Fellowship Period Fellows must commit to pursuing the New York Fellowship for the full duration of one of the two cohort periods below. While applicants are asked to indicate their preferred cohort period, ACC reserves the right to make cohort assignments.

• January 1, 2027 – June 30, 2027
• July 1, 2027 – December 31, 2027

Fellows must arrive in the U.S. no later than the first week of the program start date and depart no earlier than the last week of the program period.

Fellowship Travel 

While New York Fellows may visit other cities and regions of the U.S., ACC strongly discourages international travel during the New York Fellowship, with the exception of medical and family emergencies and fundamental, time-limited (less than ten days) career engagements that are approved by ACC at least 60 days before the fellowship start date (see also the visa requirements below). 

MRT Health Homes Supportive Housing Program

The New York State Department of Health (Department), Division of Program Development and Management, Bureau of Social Care and Community Supports announces the availability of $86,876,000 statewide for five years in New York State (NYS) funding for up to 17 awards that will provide permanent rental subsidies and housing tenancy services to provide housing for vulnerable homeless Medicaid members. The rental subsidies and services provided under the Health Homes Supportive Housing Program are intended to be a means to provide affordable and stable housing and services, thereby improving access to health services and connection to health systems.

Permissible Use of Funds

Rental subsidies and housing units must follow HUD guidelines. Permissible uses of funds that meet such purposes include, but are not limited to, providing support for: 

• Rental subsidies at or below HUD Fair Market Value, security deposit, one time furnishing and personal supplies (Other budget category);
• Services or staff that help the member remain stably housed, including program supervision, housing counselors or specialists, and employment counseling;
• Services or staff to identify and locate members who need housing;
• Services or staff to assist in navigating the range of available housing options, identifying available housing opportunities, and completing housing applications; and
• Non-medical activities that address participants social care needs, life skills development, and social needs (Other budget category).
