Search Through Jasper County Grants for Nonprofits in South Carolina

The Arnold Fields Community Endowed Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, provides a $1,000 award to a deserving high school senior from Hampton County. Eligible applicants must be graduating from one of the specified high schools with a minimum GPA of 2.25 and plan to pursue further education at a college or university. The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry offers Organizational Development Grants aimed at enhancing the capacity of nonprofits in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties. Grants up to $5,000 cover 70% of a consultant's fees, facilitating strategic planning, governance training, and other capacity-building initiatives. Organizations must meet specific eligibility criteria, including nonprofit status and attendance at an information session. These grants foster sustainability and operational effectiveness within the nonprofit sector.

The CF Lowcountry Opportunity Grant provides funding up to $10,000 to nonprofit organizations in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper counties. These grants aim to support new initiatives, enhance existing programs, or invest in critical capital projects. To be eligible, organizations must have 501(c)(3) status, serve local communities, and attend a Grants Information Session within a year of applying. Preference is given to projects benefiting marginalized groups.

The Beaufort Fund, established by the Coastal Community Foundation in 1998, supports nonprofits in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper counties. With over $11 million distributed, it offers three grant categories: Genesis Grants for strategic growth, Operational Grants for established nonprofits, and First-Time Grants for new applicants. Each category allows organizations to request specific funding amounts based on their needs, fostering community engagement and support.

The SC Arts Commission offers Accessibility Grants to assist organizations in making arts programs and facilities accessible to individuals with disabilities. Funded projects may include adaptations such as Braille materials, sign language interpretation, and facility modifications. Eligible applicants include government units and charitable organizations registered in South Carolina. The program emphasizes cash matching and limits awards to one per fiscal year, prioritizing projects in designated Opportunity Initiative Counties.

The Arts Project Support Grants by the South Carolina Arts Commission aim to fund quality arts projects and programs for artists and organizations. Eligible applicants include artists, nonprofit organizations, and government units, with funds supporting project costs such as technical capacity building and professional development. Priority is given to projects in specific counties within South Carolina. Applications should be submitted at least five weeks prior to project commencement, with all activities funded to occur between August 11, 2025, and May 31, 2026.

The School Arts Support Grants aim to assist public, private, and charter schools in South Carolina by providing up to $2,500 per grant to acquire necessary materials, equipment, or professional development. This funding is specifically targeted to address COVID-related learning loss in the arts and to foster innovation and integration of the arts into core subjects. Schools may apply for up to two grants per fiscal year, emphasizing the importance of enhancing students' artistic education.

The Sea Pines Resort Community Fund aims to strengthen the Lowcountry through impactful charitable investments. This fund focuses on addressing community needs, promoting sustainability, and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. In 2025, special emphasis is placed on initiatives that significantly benefit Sea Pines Resort employees and their families, particularly in Beaufort, Colleton, and Jasper counties, through programs related to workforce development, housing access, and health services.

The Dan D. Nale Engineering Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry in 2019, supports academic excellence among dependents of Gulfstream Aerospace employees. Eligible students must pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, focusing on Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace disciplines. Preference is given to applicants attending the Citadel or those who have participated in Gulfstream co-op or internship programs.

Scholarships

Since 1995, we’ve been a resource for students and parents who are looking for a way to offset the cost of tuition while bypassing the use of student loans.

Heritage Classic Foundation Scholarships

Every year we award Heritage Scholarships to 11 high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, community service and leadership skills. Since the program began in 1993, we’ve distributed $5.75 million in scholarships to 408 students from Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

The Jim Ferree Educational Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports graduating seniors from Beaufort County, SC, aiming for post-secondary education at accredited institutions. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate extracurricular involvement beyond golf, and write an essay on how golf has shaped their personal growth. This initiative fosters educational opportunities for youth impacted by the game of golf, positively influencing their futures.

The Fred and Susan Breidenbach Scholarship, funded by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, offers financial support to graduating high school seniors or undergraduate students who are dependents of Gulfstream Aerospace employees. Established to recognize academic excellence, this scholarship program reflects the Breidenbachs' commitment to education and their appreciation for the dedication of Gulfstream employees during challenging times. Since 1995, it has provided essential assistance to those pursuing higher education, helping to alleviate tuition costs.

The Gulfstream Goldie Glenn Scholarship, funded by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, honors academic excellence among high school seniors who are dependents of Gulfstream employees. Established to pay tribute to Albert H. "Goldie" Glenn, a leader in the aircraft industry, this scholarship aims to alleviate tuition costs for students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Since its inception, it has supported the educational aspirations of local students, furthering their opportunities in higher education.

The Ira P. Berman Gulfstream Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports the educational goals of children and dependents of Gulfstream employees. It honors Ira P. Berman, a distinguished leader in Gulfstream Aerospace. Eligible applicants include high school seniors and full-time college students enrolled in accredited institutions. The scholarship emphasizes academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and financial need, providing crucial assistance to those looking to reduce tuition costs without relying on student loans.

The Art of Community: Rural SC Grants, offered by the South Carolina Arts Commission, aims to enhance community access to the arts in rural areas. By supporting arts-based projects, this grant encourages public engagement and collaboration among local residents. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, colleges, and government entities. Priority is given to projects that develop artistic skills and foster creativity, addressing specific challenges faced by rural communities in South Carolina.

The Alliance Global Partners Scholarship, established in August 2022 by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, offers post-secondary financial aid to graduating students from southern Beaufort County high schools. This scholarship aims to support those pursuing business education at accredited institutions. With a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities, this initiative reflects the foundation's mission to empower local communities and ensure that students can thrive in their academic and professional pursuits.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Scholarship, established by the Nu Delta Omega Chapter in 2025, awards a $1,000 scholarship to female high school seniors from Beaufort and Jasper County public schools. Eligible candidates must demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and possess leadership qualities. Recipients are required to enroll full-time in a post-secondary institution and attend the AKA Scholarship Lunch and Learn workshop on April 4, 2026.

The Amazing Grace Sulak Scholarship, established in 2017 by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, honors Grace Sulak and aims to support high school seniors from Bluffton, May River, or Hilton Head Island High Schools. To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate involvement in athletics and community service. This scholarship reflects the foundation's commitment to empowering local youth through educational opportunities.

The Beaufort County Law Enforcement Educational Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports high school seniors in Beaufort County pursuing higher education. This scholarship benefits children of current or former law enforcement personnel, promoting academic achievement with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0. Since its inception, it has aimed to empower students to succeed and contribute positively to their communities, reflecting the foundation's mission of community connection and support.

The Ellie and Michael Agresta Scholarship, established in 2010 by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports motivated students from Hilton Head Island who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship aims to provide post-secondary educational opportunities for those who may not otherwise afford college. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher and plan to attend a public college or university in South Carolina. Recipients may reapply for continued support.

The Joan and Wade Webster Scholarship Program, established by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry in 1995, aims to provide annual post-secondary educational scholarships for students in southern Beaufort County. It supports those with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who demonstrate a commitment to sound financial principles. This scholarship not only aids in educational pursuits but also encourages students to develop financial self-sufficiency, ultimately empowering them to positively impact their community.

The Joseph S. Onisko, Jr. Environmental Sciences Scholarship, established in 2020 by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports high school seniors from southern Beaufort County pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences. This scholarship honors Joseph S. Onisko, Jr. and aims to assist students with outstanding achievements, a minimum GPA of 3.2, and a focus on marine sciences. The foundation has invested over $125 million to enhance the Lowcountry community.

The Joyce H. Power Scholarship Endowment, established in December 2022 by Joyce H. Power, supports Southern Beaufort County residents pursuing post-secondary education. This scholarship is aimed at students who have experienced the loss of a parent and have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, requiring a minimum GPA of 2.5. Funded by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, it plays a vital role in enhancing educational opportunities for deserving students in the region.

About US

In 1994, a group of visionary Lowcountry community leaders recognized the need to create a community foundation. Through the sale of the nonprofit Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head Island Foundation, Inc. was born, with a mission to provide philanthropic leadership to a growing community.

In 2001, our service area expanded to include northern Beaufort County, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties. To reflect this, our name changed to Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.

Jeff Katon Scholarship

Jeff Katon was a beloved son, brother, friend and business associate to many of us in the Hilton Head community. Jeff always displayed great passion for wine, food, golf and his community. The outpouring of support after his untimely death greatly touched Jeff's family and friends. The Jeff Katon Scholarship Foundation was established as a way to give back to the community Jeff loved.

The Long Cove Community Endowment Fund focuses on supporting charitable initiatives in Beaufort and Jasper Counties, South Carolina. Its mission is to encourage giving among the Long Cove Club Members and provide grants for health, housing, hunger, and education. The fund prioritizes specific projects over general operating costs, ensuring continued support for local communities. Grants are evaluated semi-annually, and donor anonymity is maintained, fostering a sustainable and impactful charitable giving environment.

The Festivals Program Grant, offered by the South Carolina Arts Commission, aims to support a wide range of arts activities at festivals that significantly impact local communities. By fostering public engagement and participation in arts and culture, this grant prioritizes festivals in underserved areas, enhancing access to creative experiences for all. Eligibility extends to local governments and registered nonprofits, ensuring that the arts remain integral to South Carolina's community life, especially during challenging times.

The SCAC Term Arts Education Project Grants support quality arts education for preschool and K-12 students during the 2025-2026 academic year. The grants aim to enhance access to arts education, integrate arts with school curricula, and address South Carolina’s educational standards. Eligible applicants include colleges, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Priority is given to projects serving underserved communities and addressing learning loss caused by COVID-19, ensuring a broad impact on students' educational development.
