Search Through Grants for Charities in New Jersey

The Fidelity Foundation Grant supports nonprofit organizations that aim for high impact in areas like Arts, Education, and Health. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations with operating budgets over $1 million and project budgets of at least $100,000. The foundation seeks transformative projects that enhance efficiency and sustainability. However, it does not fund start-up organizations, capital campaigns without prior support, or emergency funding, ensuring a focus on long-term effectiveness.

The Gadomski Foundation Grant supports charitable organizations primarily in the Lehigh Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, Atlantic City, and Chicago. With a focus on education, under-served children, health, and the arts, this private foundation has a history of impactful giving since 2007. Currently, new grants are limited to organizations not previously funded, emphasizing significant contributions and matching grants. The foundation remains committed to its mission despite prior commitments through multi-year pledges.

Salem Health and Wellness Foundation

The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation was founded in 2002 for the purpose of promoting the health and wellness of Salem County, New Jersey residents. The Foundation has made over $59 million in grants, contributions and scholarships to more than 60 organizations, all with the specific requirement that the funds address health problems in our county.

Grantmaking Overview

The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation is committed to supporting projects that enhance, improve, and transform the health, safety and well-being of the County’s residents. This is done primarily through the Foundation’s grantmaking process that is simultaneously attentive to community strengths and challenges. All grant opportunities are available through public notice through our website and/or announcements by the Foundation’s Executive Director.

The Foundation’s work is guided by its Mission and Values, as well as the Social Determinants of Health and Five Protective Factors. We believe that the “determinants” should be reframed as “drivers” of health, highlighting the Foundation’s desire to build on the strengths and strong traditions of community support from Salem County’s citizen volunteers, non-profit organizations, government offices, faith and business communities and health care providers. Our grantmaking is based on our belief in possibilities.

Salem Health and Wellness Foundation’s grantmaking is also driven by available data and community narratives. This information supports our priority setting and funding decisions. We strongly encourage all grant applicants to use the valuable combination of data, and the accompanying narratives, in shaping their proposals.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation offers event sponsorship to eligible nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations for events held in Salem County or impacting health and wellness issues related to Salem County. This includes galas, fundraising opportunities, community meetings, conferences, etc. Sponsorship requests must not exceed $1,000. Organizations are only eligible for one event per calendar year.

The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation logo must be present on marketing materials related to the event. 

The FirstBank Charitable Foundation (FBCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2008, focused on supporting charitable organizations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. With over a million dollars awarded, FBCF aims to enhance community well-being through partnerships in health, housing, and education. Nonprofits aligning with FBCF's mission and demonstrating significant service impact are encouraged to apply for grants, fostering a stronger fabric within their neighborhoods.

The Camden New Jersey Community Trust offers a unique opportunity for local organizations to secure funding through a single application for over 100 trusts. This initiative supports diverse projects that address community needs, enhance social impact, and ensure sustainability. Eligible applicants must demonstrate a proven track record of at least three years and present measurable outcomes from prior initiatives. Collaborative efforts are encouraged to maximize the benefit to underserved populations within the Camden community.

The Region Grants Open Grant Round: Hunger Relief, sponsored by the Land O'Lakes Foundation, aims to combat food insecurity in rural communities. Grants between $1,000 and $20,000 are available for organizations supporting food banks, meal programs, and community gardens. With a total investment of $500,000 annually, this initiative prioritizes nonprofits with 501c3 status serving specific regions in the East and West. The program seeks to enhance the vibrancy of member-owner communities while fostering educational and community vitality.

The Bradford T. Blauvelt Memorial Trust Fund Grant supports charitable organizations in Ocean County, NJ, focusing on education, health, and human services. Established by Eleanor G. Blauvelt in memory of her husband, this fund aims to benefit the community through financial assistance for educational and medical purposes. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) compliant, ensuring that their primary activities are conducted within the specified region. With an average grant size of $1,500, the fund contributes significantly to local initiatives.

The Shared Decision-Making Pilot Program NOFA, led by the New Jersey Department of Health, aims to enhance maternity care through the TeamBirth program. The Harry L. Katz Memorial Trust Fund Grant supports charitable, religious, scientific, literary, and educational initiatives. Established in 1954 by Harry L. Katz in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the fund primarily benefits qualified Jewish organizations and charities within Atlantic County. This Quaker foundation prioritizes collaboration and sustainability in its funding efforts. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities focused on enhancing the quality of life for aging individuals. Grants are typically awarded for one year and target organizations that align with the foundation's mission and values.

The Mary Owen Borden Foundation, established in 1934, focuses on supporting disadvantaged youth in New Jersey's Mercer and Monmouth counties. The foundation provides grants averaging $10,000, with a maximum of $15,000, to nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs such as health, education, and counseling. It emphasizes local impact and requires organizations to demonstrate efficient use of funds. The Ellis Family Charitable Foundation (EFCF) provides grants primarily for religious, educational, and charitable organizations located in Burlington County, New Jersey. They aim to support 501(c)(3) entities that contribute to the welfare of local residents and workers. Notably, EFCF limits each organization to one grant application per calendar year, encouraging a focused approach to funding. 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that work in the disaster preparedness space in the U.S. are invited to apply for a Water-Related Disaster Preparation Grant. WD-40 Company and its Memory Making Fund are interested in helping communities prone to hurricanes, heavy rainfall, and flooding to prepare for – and recover from – these events, protecting equipment, machinery, tools, and other valuables and reduce the economic impact of these events.

About Our Priority of Preparation

We are looking for one or more charitable partners to help us reduce the impact of disasters —including water-related disasters— by helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. When essential infrastructure and equipment is properly prepared and maintained before a water-related disaster strikes, businesses and consumers benefit. We seek to partner with organizations that have a demonstrated track record with disaster preparedness. We are eager to share our expertise in preventing rust and corrosion caused by water, along with offering tips, tools, product donations, and education on water-related preparedness.

The Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation Grant offers crucial funding to support breast health services for underserved women in New Jersey. With a budget of $50,000, the foundation prioritizes projects that enhance screening, treatment, and education on breast health. Open to public charities, the grant aims to empower vulnerable communities by providing essential resources and support, ensuring that every woman has access to quality care regardless of her financial situation.

The William G. Rohrer Foundation Grant supports organizations in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties, New Jersey, focusing on education, youth, and health-related issues. The foundation seeks projects that have measurable outcomes, address community needs, and demonstrate long-term sustainability. Eligible organizations must have a minimum of three years of operation and provide direct services to underserved populations. Funding is not available for general operating costs, new programs, or for-profit entities.

The Lydia Collins deForest Charitable Trust, established in 2002, focuses on supporting organizations that aid the visually impaired, religious institutions aligned with the Episcopal Church, and services for the homeless or substance-dependent. Grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 are offered for impactful projects. Priority is given to organizations in New Jersey, particularly those enhancing capacity or making capital improvements. Applications must include a detailed budget and project outline.

The David and Marilyn Krupnick Foundation Grant offers funding to non-profit organizations that benefit children and families in need, focusing on medical care, educational advancement, and social interaction. Preference is given to projects in the Delaware Valley area. Grants typically range from $10,000 to $25,000 and applications are accepted annually until February 28. The foundation aims to provide direct support to impactful charitable initiatives.

The Water and Environment Grant Program by the American Water Charitable Foundation supports innovative community projects aimed at improving watersheds, conserving water, and enhancing access to recreation in underserved areas. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and educational institutions located within American Water's service areas. Projects must be completed within 12 months, and applicants should consider budget feasibility when requesting funds. Certain organizations and projects, such as those not classified as 501(c)(3), are ineligible.

The Home Runs for Heroes Grants program, in collaboration with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, aims to support veterans and military personnel through charitable donations tied to home runs hit during games. Each charity partner receives $1,000 per home run scored in their assigned inning, with a minimum donation guaranteed. The initiative emphasizes health, housing, quality of life, and youth education, while ensuring compliance with non-discrimination policies and eligibility criteria for non-profit organizations.

The Frank S. Flowers Charitable Trust, established in 1979, aims to enhance the quality of life in Gloucester County, New Jersey. It provides grants to educational, health-related, youth, and religious organizations that meet specific criteria. With an average grant size of $10,000 and around 20 grants awarded each year, the Trust prioritizes support for local public high schools, non-profit hospitals, and organizations focused on the welfare of mentally disabled children.

The Leon M. Seidel Memorial Trust Fund Grant supports charities in Bordentown, NJ. Established in 1967, it aims to benefit local residents through various charitable causes, including arts, education, health, and human services. To be eligible, organizations must be 501(c)(3) exempt. Applications are accepted year-round, with a submission deadline of April 1 for annual review. This grant promotes community welfare and addresses diverse needs.

The Rudolph Williams Charitable Trust Grant aims to support charities dedicated to providing benefits to blind individuals. It primarily funds organizations within the United States, particularly in New Jersey, that qualify as 501(c)(3) exempt entities. Key program areas include education, health, human services, and public benefit. However, it does not support requests from private individuals or for political activities. This grant represents a valuable resource for organizations helping blind persons.
