CIS/Kalamazoo Public Education Foundation Scholarship

The Kalamazoo Public Education Foundation Scholarship, established by the directors and officers of the Kalamazoo Public Education Foundation, is awarded annually to a Kalamazoo Public Schools graduating senior planning to enter the field of education.

Clarence L. Remynse

This scholarship fund was established in honor of Clarence L. Remynse, a Kalamazoo native and successful business owner, to support Kalamazoo County residents pursuing a bachelor’s degree. His legacy of hard work, community involvement, and commitment to education continues through this fund, which aims to help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

Accessibility Microgrants

Purpose

To make the arts accessible to all Virginians by supporting improvements in an organization’s space, facilities, or programming.

Description

The Accessibility Microgrant provides funding up to $2,000, with a 10% (1:10) cash match requirement, for projects that meet a specific accessibility need in an organization’s arts offerings. In-kind or federal matches will not be accepted. Funds will be distributed on a rolling basis in two cycles throughout the fiscal year; once funds are depleted for a given cycle, no more projects will be approved.

This grant supports a wide variety of projects, including minor, non-transformational facilities improvements. While it does not fund construction or installation, it may fund supplies, like signage, that would later be installed

Derek Jeter Scholarship-Turn 2 Education Fund

The Derek Jeter Scholarship-Turn 2 Education Fund, established in 1997 by Turn 2, provides scholarship support for graduating high school seniors who demonstrate leadership in their community while promoting abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

Multiyear Award; Renews Annually

The Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program aims to support students from specific states pursuing higher education. With awards of $5,000 for 2-year programs and $10,000 for 4-year degrees, this program emphasizes both need and merit in its selection process. Administered by Scholarship America®, it is open to high school seniors and undergraduates maintaining a GPA of 3.0. Awards may be renewed for up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is obtained.

The Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, established in 1975, awards $25,000 to the best book of poetry published in the U.S. the previous year. It includes a ten-day residency at Glen Hollow, New York, and distribution to Academy of American Poets members. Eligible poets must be U.S. citizens or residents and submit original works published in the prior year. Self-published books and translations are ineligible, promoting excellence in contemporary American poetry.

The Murco Foundation Grants, managed by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, focus on advancing education and the arts within the greater Wausau area and Marathon County. Established in 1992, the Foundation evaluates grant applications annually, prioritizing support for nonprofit organizations. However, they do not fund annual campaigns, operating expenses, or lobbying efforts. The grants aim to foster community enrichment and support for 501(C)(3) organizations.

The Wispact Foundation Grant, established in 2021, aims to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in Wisconsin. Managed by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, it provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofits addressing critical areas such as housing, assistive devices, and inclusive education. The foundation prioritizes proposals that enhance living conditions and accessibility, while excluding capital campaigns and retroactive funding. This initiative fosters community impact and supports organizations dedicated to disability services.

The Evelyn Prince Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Evelyn Prince, an avid golfer and academic achiever. Her love for education and athletics continues to inspire, providing opportunities for young women who share her passion for golf and higher learning.

Multiyear Awar; Renews Annually

The ZCM: Myrtle Lee for Moms’ Scholarship, offered by the Zonta Club of Minneapolis, empowers single mothers in the Twin Cities Metro Area to pursue higher education. Named in honor of past Club President Myrtle Lee, this scholarship provides up to $1500 to support women in their educational journeys, encouraging personal and professional growth. Eligible applicants must be working single mothers enrolled in accredited institutions, pursuing any field of study.

Gail & Hilda Oster Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Gail and Hilda Oster for the purpose of providing meaningful support to graduating high school seniors or graduates, who are residents of Van Buren County or graduating high school seniors or graduates of high schools within Van Buren County, who are planning to pursue or are pursuing bachelor's degrees in the fields of education, mathematics or science; or enrolling or enrolled in a Veterinary Technologist or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programs. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

The Zimmer Biomet Foundation, established in 2018, supports health care professionals through fellowship funding aimed at enhancing education and clinical research. Importantly, funding decisions are made independently of any commercial interests in Zimmer Biomet's products, ensuring a commitment to quality education and patient care.

The California Energy Commission's GFO-25-302 initiative, known as CHOIR, aims to advance virtual power plants that effectively coordinate inverter-based resources like solar, batteries, and electric vehicles. This program is crucial for enhancing power quality, mitigating grid congestion, and promoting clean energy within disadvantaged communities in California. By fostering innovation in energy management, CHOIR supports the state's transition to a sustainable energy future, aligning with goals for carbon neutrality and energy efficiency.

The Belvedere Animal Welfare Fund Grant, established in 2007, focuses on advancing animal welfare in Maine through one-year project proposals for organizations addressing population control for cats and dogs. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, municipalities, and public agencies. The fund emphasizes keeping low-income pet owners and their animals together and supports education on humane treatment. Note: No new general support applications will be accepted until 2025, but project proposals are welcomed.

The Family Power Fund, established by the Headwaters Foundation, empowers youth, parents, and caregivers to influence health-related policies and systems. By supporting nonprofits that foster leadership, advocacy, and storytelling, the fund aims to address health disparities impacting families, particularly those facing significant barriers. With grants of up to $150,000, it prioritizes organizations that engage these communities and promote their voices in decision-making. This initiative is critical for driving health equity across Western Montana.

The Family Power Fund, managed by the Headwaters Foundation, empowers youth, parents, and caregivers to influence health-related policies through leadership development and advocacy. With grants of up to $75,000, it supports organizations that engage with families facing significant health barriers, including low-income, Indigenous, Black, and LGBTQ+ communities. The fund emphasizes building family leadership, fostering coalitions, and changing narratives to improve public health outcomes in Western Montana.

The 1772 Foundation, in collaboration with the National Preservation Partners Network, is opening its 2026 grant cycle for Historic Property Redevelopment Programs (HPRP). This initiative aims to support nonprofit organizations in the U.S. focused on historic property revitalization. Eligible organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) designation and be NPPN members. Grants typically range from $50,000 to $75,000, promoting sustainable practices that address community revitalization and heritage conservation.

The Long Beach Navy Memorial Heritage Association Grants support nonprofit and for-profit entities in preserving the historical resources of Long Beach. Founded in 1998, the Association prioritizes projects that honor the contributions of the Long Beach Naval Station and architect Paul Revere Williams. Eligible projects must be publicly beneficial, located within Long Beach, and align with established historic preservation standards. Funding focuses on direct project expenses, excluding endowments or completed projects. The Association encourages collaborative funding efforts.

PFund Foundation supports LGBTQ+ communities in the Upper Midwest by providing event sponsorship funding for various gatherings, including fundraisers and pride festivals. Organizations eligible for funding must align with the foundation's mission, serve LGBTQ+ individuals, and be registered as 501c3 nonprofit entities. Events must be located within the foundation's service area and be scheduled at least 60 days in advance. This initiative aims to foster community engagement and support.

Introduction

The mission of the Governor’s Commission on Disability (GCD) is to improve “the quality of life of all New Mexicans with disabilities by addressing social integration, economic self-sufficiency, political resolve, physical and program accessibility, and full participation in the benefits of life and rights of all individuals."

Quality of Life Grant Program

As part of its mission, GCD continues the Quality of Life Grant Program (QOL). QOL provides small grants to New Mexico non-profits and other tax-exempt organizations to improve or enhance programs and services that increase the quality of life of all New Mexicans with disabilities.

Applications may be submitted to address one of five categories: Adaptive Movement; Programmatic Access; Emergency Preparedness Outreach and Education; Social Integration; Technology Training and Accessibility.

The goal of the QOL Grant Program is to allow an organization to provide more (quantity) or enhanced (quality) services in one or more of the listed categories. QOL grants are not awarded for routine operating costs (salaries not related to enhanced or increased services, for instance), or costs associated with starting a new program or delivering a new service. 

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services is inviting proposals for Round 2 Opioid Settlement Funding (RFP BHTHPTR26113) to support local opioid abatement strategies across seven districts. Eligible applicants may propose new projects distinct from previous funding. The agency aims to enhance health and resiliency in communities through innovative services. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received funding, ensuring a diverse range of strategies to combat opioid-related issues.

The Ottawa Valley Chapter Scholarship, sponsored by the American Society of Heating Refrigerating & A C Engineers, supports full-time undergraduate students in mechanical, architectural, sustainability, or building science engineering. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and meet specific criteria such as being enrolled at institutions with recognized ASHRAE student branches or accredited programs. This scholarship encourages those aiming for careers in the HVAC&R profession, promoting a sustainable built environment.

The Arts Alive! Individual Artist Grants, offered by the Weld Community Foundation, support emerging artists in Weld County, enabling them to advance their artistic careers. This initiative encourages projects that enhance cultural experiences and access to the arts in the community. Applicants must be legal residents of Weld County and at least 18 years old, having resided there for a minimum of 12 months. Note that travel expenses are typically not funded.

The Indiana Youth Institute offers Professional Development Grants to support youth-serving professionals in Indiana. These grants provide funding for conferences, workshops, and training to enhance skills and improve student success. Eligible applicants include staff and volunteers from tax-exempt organizations that serve Indiana youth. The program aims to strengthen professional practices, ensuring that applicants can effectively support the needs of children and youth in their communities.
