Fellow Awards

Women Create Foundation Grants
Empowering women creators.
About
Women Create, LLC is the publisher of two industry leading magazines, Where Women Create and What women Create. Every issue of WHAT & WHERE includes in-depth features about women from diverse geographies and backgrounds, the mediums they use and the projects and studios that support their passion.
Through our search for women artist/creators, we’ve seen the significant barriers and disparities in accessing funding they face to nurture their visions. The Women Create Foundation was created with the mission to empower women creators through grants that help bring projects to life and foster innovation.
The grant amounts vary depending on the artist’s needs. Financial awards typically range from $500-$2,000.
Appleton Education Foundation
The Appleton Education Foundation, a supporting organization of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, has been working since 1997 to develop a steady source of support for grants now, and for many future generations of Appleton children.
Mission: We raise and direct private funds to strengthen and enhance education in our community.
Big Idea Grants
Established in May 2020, the Appleton Education Foundation (AEF) welcomes opportunities to partner with the Appleton Area School District in support of initiatives that are:
Ideas could also come from another community nonprofit organization when the district is a key collaborative partner.
Size & Scope of Big Idea Grants
If AEF makes a large multi-year commitment, it may not have the financial capacity to take on another Big Idea until that commitment is met. AASD is still encouraged to bring ideas forward for review and consideration.

Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs works with Indiana communities to build relevant and economically thriving places where people want to live, work and grow.
Mission: The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs works with local, state and national partners to provide resources and technical assistance to aid communities in shaping and achieving their vision for community and economic development.
CDBG Planning Grant - Economic Recovery Plan
The Planning Grant Program leverages Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to encourage communities to plan for long-term, holistic improvement. The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) seeks applications from local units of government for programs funded through the State CDBG program. Eligible local units of government are counties, cities, or incorporated towns not located within an entitlement community. Unincorporated areas must apply through the county in which they are located. Eligible planning activities consist of all costs associated with data gathering, study, analysis, and preparation of plans and the identification of actions to implement such plans.
Economic Recovery Plan identifies strategies to recover and bolster the local economy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cultural Producers Grants
The Cultural Producers Grants Program awards $50,000 in total funds for low-budget grassroots arts organizations and artist-run projects in Kansas City. Kansas City has long enjoyed a thriving and diverse ecology of small artist-run spaces, collectives, groups, and organizations, which have sometimes suffered from lack of support needed to establish sustainability. These new Cultural Producer Grants aim to both draw attention to these critical elements of our arts ecosystem as well as direct some much-needed support their way.

The goal is to give organizations the financial means they need to focus on their mission, serve their communities, and support long-term stability. These grants allow nonprofits to improve everyday operations, invest in staff development, and expand programs. Funders want to see nonprofits thrive, not just survive, and providing operational support is a key element to making that happen.
