Guy D. & Mary Edith Halladay Scholarship

Open to graduate students, with a preference for those studying music.

The Peter S. Slomianyj Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance to Subway employees and their children who meet specific eligibility criteria, including a minimum of 500 work hours over the past year and a GPA of 2.0 in high school or 2.5 in college. Applications for this scholarship will be open from December 16, 2025, to March 3, 2026. It is part of a broader initiative by the North Carolina Community Foundation to support students pursuing education at various institutions.

Thomas Conaty Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family of Mr. Conaty to provide a college or post-secondary degree program scholarship to a student from Blue Ridge, Elk Lake or Montrose Area School Districts, including home schooled students from those districts. Preference will be given to a student who will pursue a degree in business or a related field.

Robert and Diane Turrell Family Scholarship

Established by Robert and Diane Hill Turrell. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who is a student of good moral character and who demonstrates financial need through their Student Aid Report. Students from Lackawanna Trail, Tunkhannock, Elk Lake, Homeschooled and Wyalusing Valley High Schools may apply. Priority will be given to students living in Habitat for Humanity Housing. The recipient may re-apply during each of the remaining years of undergraduate study until reaching the age of 25.

The Scholarships for Careers Endowment, established by a local family in connection with the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, aims to support graduates of Elk Lake School District and the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center. This scholarship prioritizes students with financial need and promise for future success, assisting them in pursuing vocational, technical, academic, or other post-secondary programs. Additionally, it contributes to special projects within the school district and community.

The California Permitting Academy aims to enhance local government efficiency in permitting processes through targeted training and technical assistance. This initiative, led by the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, will provide in-person, one-week courses for representatives from multiple local governments. Participants will gain valuable skills in streamlining permits, ensuring compliance, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. The program focuses on modernizing practices and fostering collaboration among local agencies to better support zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and clean energy projects.

The County Medical Services Program Loan Repayment Program (CMSPLRP) aims to attract and retain healthcare professionals in California by offering educational debt relief for those providing primary care or dental services in designated CMSP counties. This program supports the repayment of qualified educational loans, enhancing local healthcare delivery and ensuring access to quality medical services for underserved populations.

The Song-Brown program aims to enhance healthcare in California's underserved areas by funding institutions that train primary care health professionals, particularly Registered Nurses. This initiative focuses on recruiting trainees committed to serving in these communities, implementing counseling and placement programs, and providing preceptorship experiences to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the healthcare needs of the population.

The Song-Brown Certified Nurse Midwifery Training Programs aim to support organizations training nurse midwifery students for underserved areas in California. This initiative includes recruiting students committed to serving in these communities, providing counseling and placement support, and offering relevant preceptorship experiences. By addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals in critical regions, the program enhances access to primary care and improves health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

This grant opportunity will result in funding organizations to train primary carenurse practitioners and physician assistant trainees to work in underservedcommunities. Such strategies shall incorporate the following elements:

• Establishing procedures to identify, recruit and admit primary care nursepractitioner and physician assistant trainees who possess characteristicswhich would suggest a predisposition to practice in areas of unmet need, andwho express a commitment to serve in areas of unmet need.
• Implementing counseling and placement program to encourage trainingprogram graduates to enter practice in areas of unmet need.
• Providing a preceptorship experience in an area of unmet need to enhancethe potential of training program graduates to practice in such an area.
