Best Professional Development Grants for Nonprofits

The ADEAGies Foundation Grant supports oral health innovations and the development of future leaders in academic dentistry. Funded by the ADEAGies Foundation, the program offers annual grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 for various dental programs and initiatives. The Kalamazoo Public Education Foundation Scholarship, established by the directors and officers of the Kalamazoo Public Education Foundation, is awarded annually to a Kalamazoo Public Schools graduating senior planning to enter the field of education.

Woodruff Memorial Scholarship

The family of Edmond B. Woodruff and Beth Woodruff Shipman established this scholarship in 1982 in their memory.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc.  Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution.

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

Wright Coating Company Scholarship

Wright Coating Company established this scholarship fund in 1991 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to college‑bound youth residing on the north side of Kalamazoo.

The Berkshire Woodworkers Guild Scholarship offers financial support to aspiring professional woodworkers and designers. Established in 1998, this scholarship is funded through generous donations and proceeds from an annual silent auction. Recipients are encouraged to engage with the Guild and showcase their work at events. Preference is given to applicants pursuing comprehensive woodworking programs that lead to certification or degrees, but other professional development opportunities may also be considered.

The Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Literatures in English, offered by Cornell University's Society for the Humanities, invites applications for a two-year position starting August 1, 2026. This fellowship seeks candidates specializing in African American literature and culture, with a preference for those with expertise in gender, sexuality, or media studies. The fellow will conduct research, teach two courses annually, and engage in departmental events and seminars, contributing to the academic community.

The Dorothy M. Yothers Second Chances Scholarship, offered by the Washington State Elks Association, aims to support mature women over 25 in achieving their vocational and technical education goals. Each recipient can receive up to $1,000 per quarter, based on financial need, and the scholarship is renewable contingent upon maintaining a GPA of 3.0. This initiative honors the legacy of Dorothy M. Yothers, promoting empowerment and education for women in Washington State.

Request for Proposals for Grantees to Develop and/or Provide Services for Older Minnesotans to Live in Community – Live Well at Home Grants

Objective of RFP

The Minnesota Department of Human Services, through its Aging and Adult Services Division (STATE), is seeking Proposals from qualified Responders to develop and/or provide services for older Minnesotans to live and age in the community of their choice. The STATE aims to improve their community’s capacity to develop, strengthen, integrate, and maintain culturally competent home and community-based services (HCBS) for individuals aged 65 and older who are at-risk of long-term nursing facility use and/or spending down into Medical Assistance eligibility. Proposals may include services that support solo agers, family, friends, and neighbors’ caregiving.

The Live Well at Home℠ program aims “to help older adults live well at home by focusing strategic investments to prepare Minnesotans for 2030.” The grants in this RFP are intended to stimulate innovation by providing one-time, start-up funds to test new approaches in housing and HCBS development, and to develop and support core HCBS providers.

The Evotek Giving Foundation Technology Scholarship

The Evotek Giving Foundation Technology Scholarship applicants should:

• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
• Plan to enroll full-time at a College or University in California, Arizona, or Colorado
• Plan to major in finance (San Diego only) or computer science or information technology
• Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Open to all applicants, with a focus on advancing gender equity in careers in technology
• If selected as a recipient of the Evotek 2026 Technology Scholarship, recipients will be invited to meet monthly with a mentor and, as needed, attend foundation/press events and speak to their experiences as technology majors.

The Live Your Dream Awards, sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Americas, empower women by providing vital monetary assistance for their education and training. Each year, over $3 million is awarded to more than 2,300 women who are the primary financial support for their families. This initiative supports those overcoming significant challenges like poverty and domestic violence, ensuring they have the resources to achieve their dreams and live fulfilling lives.

The Bring Back the Trades Scholarship is dedicated to addressing the skilled trades shortage by providing $1,500 monthly scholarships to students enrolled in post-secondary skilled trades programs across the United States. Founded by a seasoned business owner, the initiative aims to raise awareness and reshape perceptions of trade careers, ensuring that students have the resources to succeed in vital roles that contribute to the nation's future.

The Marine Trades Scholarship, offered by the National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA), supports students pursuing education in marine trades. Since 2008, NMRA has facilitated annual scholarships funded by members and affiliates. This initiative not only encourages academic growth but also fosters professional development through networking events, industry insights, and advocacy support. Applications are accepted each spring, with recipients chosen in the summer, promoting a brighter future for the marine industry.

The Special Opportunity Grant, offered by the University of Rochester, supports students in the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Certificate program. It funds career-related activities not covered by standard curriculum, such as workshops, professional shadowing, and online courses. This grant prioritizes applications from current Fellows, recent graduates, and those who have not previously received funding, ensuring that diverse opportunities are accessible for skill enhancement.

The Goldmark Equal Access to Justice Internship offers a unique opportunity for 2nd and 3rd year law students to gain hands-on experience in legal aid organizations across Washington State. This 10-week paid internship focuses on essential skills such as research, writing, and client services, while supporting low-income individuals facing legal challenges. • Be actively involved in serving their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service or work experience and must describe how they plan to give back to their community during and after college
• Have demonstrated social responsibility and a high level of integrity
• Have parents who have not received a college degree
• Have a demonstrated financial need

• Have a demonstrated financial need
• Have a commitment to their community as demonstrated in their involvement in extracurricular activities, work or volunteer experience or church activities
• Preference for foreign born children of immigrant parents

The Link Foundation offers the Ocean Engineering and Instrumentation Ph.D. Fellowship, providing six fellowships of $35,000 each for Ph.D. students. This fellowship aims to advance research in ocean engineering and instrumentation, enhance theoretical and practical knowledge, and promote research dissemination through lectures and publications. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a U.S. or Canadian university and demonstrate a well-defined thesis direction. The Next Gen North Early Childhood Development Grant, offered by the Delaware Community Foundation, provides $7,500 to support initiatives addressing early childhood development issues in New Castle County. This grant invites nonprofits to apply, focusing on equity and community-based philanthropy. It aims to foster opportunities for vulnerable families in Delaware while ensuring that funded programs do not discriminate based on race, religion, or other factors. Nonprofits are encouraged to submit proposals that align with these goals.

Paul J. Falco Scholarship

The Paul J. Falco Scholarship provides a scholarship opportunity to high school level students from the Village of Marble Cliff who demonstrate outstanding scholastic and leadership qualities. The late Paul J. Falco, who served as Mayor of the Village for 36 years, was an ardent supporter of the Village, its residents, and the pursuit of life-long learning. The generosity of this endowment by Mayor Falco and his wife Bobbie Hall Falco provides the opportunity to recognize the talented youth of the Village of Marble Cliff. In its 20 years of existence the Paul J. Falco Scholarship Committee has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to residents of the Village of Marble Cliff.

New Bern Breakfast Rotary Todd Denson Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Criteria

Graduates of high schools in Craven County, North Carolina, or Craven County, North Carolina residents graduating from high school.

The UrbanGlass Visiting Artist and Designer Fellowship offers artists and designers the chance to explore glass as a creative medium. Recipients will receive guidance, access to state-of-the-art studios, and a $15,000 stipend to support their projects. This fellowship encourages collaboration and community engagement, allowing fellows to share their ideas through lectures and hands-on experiences. Ideal for those with minimal glass experience, it promotes diverse voices in the arts while requiring flexible onsite participation.

VCA Charities offers the Ready for Rescue Grants to support animal welfare organizations in preparing pets for adoption. With a maximum award of $10,000, this program focuses on enhancing the mental and physical well-being of companion animals through various activities, including enrichment and training. Eligible organizations must be registered nonprofits dedicated to animal welfare, adopting out at least 500 pets annually. Applications are accepted twice a year, with deadlines approaching soon.
