Each Henderson County Public High School may nominate one male and one female graduating senior. The nominee must have played in three varsity sports for two or more years during grades 9-12 (one of those years being their senior year). The nominee must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Applicant must be enrolled as a senior in a public, parochial or private school or be a graduate of such school and intend to enroll in a degree-granting program in an accredited college, university, community college or technical school. Applicant must be an active member of Fletcher United Methodist Church for two years prior to applying for this scholarship. Applicant should have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a minimum SAT score of 800. The Firefighter of the Year award is an annual award bestowed upon an individual who exemplifies the characteristics of a firefighter with an outstanding record of fire service achievements.
