The Jean Griswold Foundation (JGF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Caregivers through educational opportunities and scholarships. 

Our Mission

The mission of the Jean Griswold Foundation is to support Caregivers by providing educational scholarships* to enable them to further their training, enhance their careers, and better assist the clients they serve.

By offering educational scholarships*, our Foundation will not only make a positive impact on the Caregivers themselves, but also the clients they assist and the home healthcare agencies where they are employed, as well as help advance the overarching home-care industry.

Scholarships will be paid directly to the federally accredited educational institutions of the winning Scholars’ choosing.

Empowering Caregivers Through Education

The Jean Griswold Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving Caregivers who wish to further their education in a care-related field. Applicants do not have to be associated with Griswold in any way, and the funds will be paid directly to the institution where the caregiver will be receiving education.

The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.

The Enbridge Safe Community First Responder Program is designed to support emergency response organizations across Canada and the U.S. by providing grants for safety equipment, training, and educational programs. Launched in 2002, it has invested over $22 million in enhancing community safety. Eligible organizations include fire departments and medical services located near Enbridge operations. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, helping improve the capabilities of first responders in rural and underserved areas.

Spectrum Digital Education Grants support nonprofit organizations in educating communities about broadband benefits and usage. These grants aim to bridge the digital divide, particularly for seniors and those with disabilities or ethnically diverse backgrounds. Applicants must demonstrate community partnership, address specific needs, and provide measurable impact metrics. With a focus on financial feasibility and meaningful outcomes, this initiative ensures that underrepresented urban and rural communities gain access to essential digital resources, fostering long-term improvement in their lives.

Volusia County, Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofits focused on economic opportunity, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, or affordable housing can access funding through Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Neighborhood Builders Program. Selected organizations join a two-year leadership development cohort and receive capacity-building support to advance income creation, financial resilience, and stable housing in their communities.

The Enbridge Community Grant aims to enhance the quality of life in North American communities through strategic donations and sponsorships. With funding ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, the grant supports organizations focused on safety, education, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous culture. Enbridge encourages early applications, with decisions typically made within eight weeks. The grant seeks to empower local initiatives that foster community strength, vibrancy, and sustainability.

UNCF’s mission is to build a robust and nationally-recognized pipeline of under-represented students who, because of UNCF support, become highly-qualified college graduates and to ensure that our network of member institutions is a respected model of best practice in moving students to and through college.

Publix Cares Scholarship 

Publix Cares Scholarship for eligible students attending in one of the following institutions: Benedict College, Bethune-Cookman University, Clark Atlanta University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Morehouse College, Savanah State University, Spelman College, Tennessee State University, University of Central Florida, & Virginia State University.

The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund provides grants to support communities in the U.S. and Canada where the company operates. Focused on affordable housing, education, environmental stewardship, and more, the fund emphasizes projects that meet local needs and demonstrate community support. Eligible organizations include nonprofits and educational institutions. Applications are accepted year-round with a deadline for 2025 on September 30. National initiatives related to working forests are funded by invitation only.

The Duke Energy Foundation offers Local Impact Grants of up to $20,000 aimed at promoting vibrant economies, climate resiliency, and justice, equity, and inclusion. These grants are available year-round and support workforce development, community revitalization, and environmental projects. Eligible organizations must have tax-exempt status and serve communities in Florida counties served by Duke Energy, while ensuring non-discrimination and measurable community impact.

501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations focused on early childhood education or community economic development can apply for PNC Foundation’s Foundation Grant to support programs such as early learning, affordable housing, small business assistance, arts, and community services. Organizations in Volusia County, Florida may be eligible if PNC has a significant presence in their community.

The Track Shack Youth Foundation Grant supports youth programs in Central Florida, emphasizing health and fitness initiatives. Established in 1994, the foundation has invested over $2 million in the community, primarily targeting Orange and surrounding counties. Grants typically range from $500 to $2,000. The foundation prioritizes funding for ongoing programs rather than one-time events and does not cover race entry fees, focusing on sustainable community development.

The Amscot Grant aims to enhance opportunities for Florida's children by supporting local 501(c)(3) organizations. By funding initiatives focused on education, enrichment, and safety, Amscot seeks to empower children and families in communities where it operates. Organizations are encouraged to share their stories and demonstrate how funding will help them create brighter futures. This commitment aligns with Amscot's mission to foster stronger communities across the state.

Publix Cares Scholarship

Publix Cares Scholarship was established by Publix Super Markets, Inc., a Florida corporation, in partnership with UNCF to provide scholarships to eligible students attending at one of the following selected institutions.

The Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation provides funding to support charitable, educational, religious, and scientific initiatives that benefit the Central Florida area. Established in 1959, the foundation has supported various institutions, including the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum and Rollins College. Grants can range from a few thousand dollars to over $1 million, with a focus on organizations exempt from federal taxation under 501(c)(3). Organizations may apply once per funding cycle, but repetitive funding is discouraged.

Nonprofit organizations providing high-quality early childhood education and school-readiness programs can use this funding for initiatives in vocabulary, social-emotional learning, math, science, and the arts. Grants from PNC Foundation help Volusia County, Florida 501(c)(3)s strengthen outcomes for children from birth to age five as part of the Grow Up Great initiative.

The Clay Electric Foundation Grants support charitable and educational initiatives that improve lives in the counties served by Clay Electric Cooperative. Established in 1937, this member-owned organization distributes funds collected through Operation Round Up to eligible applicants operating within these counties. Organizations such as churches, schools, and government entities may apply, but direct applications from for-profit entities or political organizations are not accepted. The Foundation is committed to enhancing community welfare through its funding.

Grants from Orlando Magic Youth Foundation help Volusia County, Florida youth and family nonprofits fund arts, education, health and wellness, or homelessness programs. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) organizations with at least one year of measurable program outcomes, audited financials, and services for children or families in Central Florida, including Volusia County.

Nonprofit executives serving Volusia County, Florida and nearby Central Florida counties can receive more than US $11,000 in professional development support, including a Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate and flexible training funds. With a mission to strengthen nonprofit leadership, Orlando Magic Youth Foundation provides 501(c)(3) leaders with education, travel coverage, and organizational support to expand their impact.

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation Grant supports organizations in the Metro Atlanta area, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, community enrichment, and environmental sustainability. Established in 1958, the foundation prioritizes investments that align with its mission and values, promoting long-term well-being within communities where Georgia-Pacific operates. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public schools, and local government entities located within 30 miles of GP manufacturing sites.

Adult education, ESOL, and family literacy programs in Volusia County, Florida can receive up to US $5,000 to integrate financial education with literacy and math instruction. Florida Literacy Coalition, in partnership with Wells Fargo, will fund nine Florida programs that teach basic money management, credit, banking, and related financial skills to adult learners and families.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations with budgets under $500,000 serving youth in Volusia County, Florida and nearby counties can apply for micro grants up to US $10,000 to launch or expand programs. Grants from Orlando Magic Youth Foundation support projects in arts, education, health and wellness, and homelessness for Central Florida youth.

The TD Charitable Foundation has been dedicated to improving community quality of life since 2002, contributing over $254 million to non-profit organizations. They fund initiatives aligned with their corporate citizenship goals, focusing on Better Health, Connected Communities, Financial Security, and Vibrant Planet. Special consideration is given to programs that support inclusivity for diverse and historically underserved communities. Their commitment to enhancing lives through targeted grants reflects their core values and social responsibility.

The Smallwood Foundation Grant supports charitable purposes within a hundred-mile radius of Dallas/Fort Worth, Gainesville, and Minden. It focuses on areas such as Arts and Culture, Civic Activities, Community Development, Education, and Human and Social Services. However, individuals are not eligible to submit applications. This grant offers an opportunity for organizations within the specified regions to seek funding for meaningful projects that positively impact their communities.

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation focuses on supporting organizations that empower communities through basic needs, income creation, and stable housing. By investing in health and job opportunities, they aim to enhance economic mobility for low- and moderate-income families. Their partnerships target vulnerable populations, ensuring equitable access to resources that foster community vitality and resilience. This initiative emphasizes the importance of stable housing as a foundation for personal and communal growth.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and government entities in Volusia County, Florida can seek funding for workforce development, climate resiliency, and inclusion initiatives. Focused on community development and environmental stewardship, the Duke Energy Foundation invites applicants serving its utility communities to request up to US $20,000 for measurable, program-specific projects rather than general operations or capital needs.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, public schools, and qualified local government entities in Volusia County, Florida can use this grant to fund job-related classes and courses for their employees. With a mission to strengthen community-serving organizations, TD Charitable Foundation provides training resources for groups serving low- to moderate-income and historically underserved communities within TD Bank market areas.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations working on affordable housing, skilled trades, clean water, sanitation, or community development within Ferguson’s U.S. service areas can apply for Ferguson’s Ferguson Cares Grant.
