Creating a Western North Carolina where every generation can live, learn, earn and thrive, with dignity and opportunity for all – no exceptions.
The best ideas for dramatically improving the health and wellbeing of the region come from the people who live and work in our local communities.
Dogwood invests in aligned organizations that advance efforts in our four strategic priorities of housing, education, economic opportunity, and health & wellness.
From 2025-2030, Dogwood’s grantmaking will focus on:
Stronger Organizations Grants
Supporting Organizational Operations, Infrastructure and Stability.
This grant opportunity offers flexible support for strategically aligned organizations that play a meaningful role in the region’s ecosystem through work in housing, education, economic opportunity, and health & wellness; and that are positioned to sustain and grow their impact over time. Organizations determine how best to use the funds and grant reporting is simplified. Most often, these grants are in the form of general operating support.
Grants typically range from $50,000 to $350,000 per year for up to two years. For two-year grants, the total award may range up to a maximum of $700,000.
For 30 years, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation has served as a partner in philanthropy to credit unions, with a mission to empower and inspire credit unions in the Carolinas through collaborative opportunities to enrich our communities. A great example of this collaborative philanthropy is our scholarship program.
More than 20 credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina have active managed funds at the Foundation. The generosity of these credit unions helps hundreds of high school seniors as well as undergraduate and graduate students receive scholarship funds each year.
As a member of any of the following credit unions, you may apply for a scholarship.
Acclaim Federal Credit Union Ed Thomas Community Service Scholarship Fund
Ed was an Acclaim board member from 1987 until 2021. He held various positions during his tenure including Chairman. During his many years of admirable volunteerism, he offered unwavering support and guidance to the ever growing success and growth of Acclaim. In honor of his hard work, volunteerism, and dedication to our credit union, we have established an annual $1,000 scholarship fund available to our members.
Acclaim has partnered with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation to offer an easy-to-manage application process for our members. There’s a simple sign up process which allows you to manage your scholarship application through their portal.
In addition to the Acclaim Federal Credit Union Ed Thomas Community scholarship, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is offering additional scholarship awards. An applicant that does not receive a scholarship award from Acclaim is automatically entered in the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s scholarship pool.

This office will act as the nexus for information sharing through its direction of the Mississippi Analysis and Information Center (MSAIC) and will lead efforts in "All Hazard" prevention, preparedness, and response by continuing to foster strong partnerships across professional response disciplines. MOHS will further the education of the Mississippi citizenry through awareness and outreach efforts. These efforts are accomplished through training, equipping, and informing the populace about the steps necessary to keep themselves and their communities vigilant and prepared.

Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Theta Boule Chapter is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the 2026 Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship. The Boule Scholars Program aims to raise the level of educational expectations and performance of African American students by cultivating and celebrating their academic excellence. Fewer than half graduate from high school, and those who don’t, become far too familiar with the criminal justice system. As a result, Theta Boule, through the Boule Scholars Program Scholarship, seeks to create a resource to stem the systemic degradation of Black male student’s academic achievement by offering a Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) renewable scholarship, which can be obtained up to a maximum of four years for a total of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000).
In addition to the Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship, the awardee will be eligible to compete for the national Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Grand Boule Scholars Program Scholarship in an amount to be determined. The recipient could receive both the Theta Boule and National Grand Boule Scholars Program Scholarships.
