Our foundation was created in 1995 with proceeds from the sale of The Venice Hospital, a community hospital that had been founded by local citizens more than four decades earlier. We are a collection of charitable funds created by individuals, families, organizations, and corporations to support their favorite causes in our region and around the world. Over 850 generous philanthropists call Gulf Coast home. Together with our donors, we have invested over $650 million in grants and impact in the areas of health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment.

Interested organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry and may be invited to submit a full proposal based on their alignment with the foundation's mission and strategic goals.

The City of Orlando's Community Investment Program offers approximately $2.4 million in grants to support non-profit organizations providing essential services to residents within city limits. Eligible organizations must demonstrate effective service capabilities, fiscal strength, and a commitment to addressing community needs through various focus areas, including housing assistance, family sustainability, and domestic violence prevention. Special consideration is given to grassroots organizations that serve underrepresented communities, enhancing equity and access to vital resources.

The Competitive Grants program by the Community Foundation for Brevard empowers local nonprofits to address pressing community needs through targeted funding in areas like education, health, and environmental stewardship. With a focus on supporting organizations that enrich community life, this initiative fosters collaboration and innovation. Grants are available to eligible nonprofits that have been operational for at least two years and meet specific criteria. This funding aims to enhance the quality of life in Brevard County and promote sustainable community development.

The Mutual of America Foundation Community Partnership Award honors exemplary nonprofit organizations in the U.S. that foster collaborative partnerships across sectors. Annually, a national competition showcases numerous organizations demonstrating impactful community partnerships. Six organizations receive recognition, including the Thomas J. Moran Award, which offers $100,000, and the Frances R. Hesselbein Award, granting $75,000. Since 1996, the award has acknowledged 262 partnerships, emphasizing Mutual of America's commitment to societal improvement through collaboration.

CFF Grassroots Grants

Grants will focus on building infrastructure and capability for grassroots nonprofits. Infrastructure and capability may include efforts to improve governance, financial management, fundraising and development, program evaluation, technology, and continuous learning.

This year, we are looking for organizations working in human services, education, veterans, food security, Alzheimer’s, youth development, and health and well-being.

The TMF: Safe Communities Program, established by The Miami Foundation, aims to enhance safety and opportunities for all residents of Greater Miami. Focused on education, economic mobility, and health services, the program supports survivors of human trafficking and gun violence. It offers grants to nonprofits working in areas like crime prevention, survivor assistance, and youth development. With a commitment to community investment, the program collaborates with over 1,000 fundholders to ensure a safe, thriving environment for all.
