Outside of a specific RFP, a first-time funded organization will typically receive a grant of $1,000 to $5,000. Once we have some history with an organization, we will entertain a request at a higher value.

Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center

The purpose of the Donald W. Reynolds Community Nonprofit Center (DWR Center) is to provide an economical and collaborative environment for nonprofit organizations. Since 2002, Parasol has operated the DWR Center as an innovative grant program providing nonprofit organizations with furnished office space, secure storage space and access to professional meeting rooms and event space. These grants are awarded to nonprofit, public charities and are annually renewable.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Dunn Family Foundation is to support programs that utilize education to build a better society and employ innovative approaches to the use of testing and support materials for educational initiatives.

The work of the Dunn Family Foundation expresses the values of its founders Lloyd & Leota Dunn and that of Dr. Douglas Dunn, who was passionate in his own pursuit of and support for life long learning. Our founders believed that education is a prime vehicle for the betterment of society. Their belief was that excellence in testing allows educational assets and resources to be employed more efficiently and that materials developed to support teachers in their educational environments is a necessary part of the educational process. 

Areas of Interest

At this time, the Dunn Family Foundation has three main areas of interest: 

• The development and implementation of educational testing materials for children and adults.
• The development and implementation of educational support materials for use by teachers in the education of society's children and adults.
• The innovative use of education to build a better society.

Types of Grants

Initial grants will be given for project funding only. After an initial grant is made, the Foundation may make general operating grants to continue supporting the organization. 

Capital funding is only available for projects connected to previous Foundation support. No endowment funds will be granted.

For reference, the average grant size generally ranges from $5,000 to $25,000. 

Dunn Family Foundation Policy on F&A Costs

The Dunn Family Foundation recognizes that organizations often require Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs (a.k.a. indirect costs) be added to all grant requests. While we recognize that F&A costs are real, we work to focus our funding on direct costs and trust the sponsoring organizations will "keep the lights on" as part of their support for funded research. 

Extraordinary circumstances, when indirect costs exceed 10%, may be considered on a case by case basis.

TIP: To Strengthen Your Application – Include an Employee Sponsor

On the online application, you will be asked if you have a sponsor and then offered the opportunity to provide their name. We will contact that employee to learn more about your work before the application is considered. Typically, an employee sponsor is a volunteer, board member or someone who has been helped by your organization. If you cannot identify an employee in your ranks, we recommend you speak to your local Store Manager to see if they would be willing to sponsor.

The Slave 2 Nothing Foundation’s mission is to free people from being enslaved to any person or substance. We fulfill our mission by providing financial support to organizations in our communities that:

• Create, educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking
• Assist individuals and their families to gain freedom and healing from substance abuse

Requirements

The Slave 2 Nothing Foundation supports two types of nonprofit organizations:

• Substance Abuse organizations that assist individuals and their families to gain freedom and healing in the following ways:
  • Detox, inpatient (residential) treatment, outpatient treatment, transitional /sober living facility, support services, and prevention
• Anti-Human Trafficking organizations that create, educate and assist with solutions to eliminate human trafficking in the following ways:
  • Drop-in center, emergency safe home, Long-term residential programs, support services, and prevention

Funding Availability

The Slave 2 Nothing Foundation is able to fund only a limited number of the total requests we receive. If a particular request meets funding criteria but does not receive support, one should not interpret this as an indication of the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation’s lack of appreciation for the merit and worthiness of either the request or the organization seeking support. We welcome the opportunity to discuss possible future funding by invitation. While there is no guarantee of ongoing support, there is no limitation on how many times an organization can apply. Each request is reviewed on its individual merit, and decisions are not based on prior year submittals. Therefore, an organization can reapply each year.

On occasion, an organization that receives a grant asks to recognize Slave 2 Nothing and/or In-N-Out Burger for such contributions. While we are always honored by the request, we do not encourage or recommend any such recognition. Part of our company’s mission statement is to “assist all communities in our marketplace”, and so we are pleased to support your efforts.

The Ash Grove Charitable Foundation makes grants annually to support the work of public charities with tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in the geographical markets that we serve.

The Foundation awards grants to charitable, educational, and scientific organizations, which are public charities.

Funding

The Foundation’s goal is to provide significant support to public charities for capital building and renovation projects. Grants for these projects generally are limited to $25,000. Consideration is also given to program grant requests. Grants for these projects are generally limited to $5,000.

Grants Program

The Nourishing Communities Grants Program provides financial support to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit meal programs that serve nutritious food to people facing food insecurity. By strengthening the capacity of community-based meal programs, the grants program aims to increase access to affordable, nutritious food for vulnerable populations struggling with food poverty, supporting the mission and activities of qualified nonprofit organizations.

This year, the Nourishing Communities Grant Program support will be directed to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating meal programs to feed the underserved in the communities providing fundraising initiatives.

Grants range from $1000 to $10,000.

Charis Fund Grant

Charis Fund is a small, benevolent family trust established in 1938, intended to support projects focused on social welfare (prioritizing hunger, housing, homelessness, at-risk youth), health and education. Charis is non-denominational but often funds religious organizations which provide services in the above categories. Charis Fund aids organizations located in California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Charis Fund has two funding cycles per year. Charis Fund exists to support organizations addressing some of society’s greatest challenges.

Charis Fund’s goal is to help initiate or expand programs focused on the areas below:

• Housing issues/homelessness
  • Example: New showers for a shelter, shelter program expansion
• Food insecurity/feeding programs
  • Example: Food purchase, location expansion
• At-risk youth/education
  • Example: After-school programs, mentoring support
• Mental health/health care
  • Example: Wrap around programs for families and children, counseling programs

Community Support

Greater Nevada Credit Union’s passion to help more people Live Greater goes beyond the financial services and accounts that we offer. We also take pride in supporting our local communities and organizations throughout the year.

About The Memorial Trust

In 1975, two years after his death, The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust was established in New York. The four original trustees were a member of the Snow family, a lawyer, a publishing associate and a corporate trustee, the Irving Trust Company, now BNY Mellow N.A.. The current Trustees continue this legacy being well aware of the donor and his beliefs, values and ideals. The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust strategically focuses funding within specific geographic regions of the United States across a range of program areas. They meet once a year, usually in June.

The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust

The Memorial Trust strategically focuses funding within specific geographic regions of the United States across a range of program areas (prioritized below and visually depicted here) while responding to the ever-changing needs of various segments of the population, especially to the needs of youth and people who are disadvantaged economically, emotionally, or physically.

Dating back to the inception of the Trust in 1973, the primary and overarching grant making priority has been and continues to be programs that focus on education.

• Education: Targets funds to organizations that provide educational opportunities or academic assistance to individuals who demonstrate an intellectual aptitude and a financial need. Examples include scholarships, fellowships, academic tutoring or counseling, literacy, and journalism.

Secondarily, the Trust considers proposals within the areas of Arts and Culture, Community Initiatives, and Youth Programs. The Board’s objective is to extend the primary educational focus by providing funding support within these additional program areas.

• Community Initiatives: Provides funding for programs or services that directly improve the quality of life within the geographic focus areas that we serve. Examples include support for libraries, food pantries and shelters, and neighborhood revitalization. Generally, the Trust does not seek proposals for health care initiatives or animal welfare programs.
• Arts and Culture: Offers grants that promote arts education and appreciation, particularly for young adults, via the development of educational curriculum and professional instruction including visiting artists and performance support for targeted populations.
• Youth Initiatives: Offers grants that provide character education or enrichment opportunities via mentoring or after-school programming

As a third priority, the Trust does consider proposals in the areas of Disabilities and Universal Access, Environmental, and Historic Preservation. As these are not core focus areas, funding is often limited. Priority will be given to proposals with an educational focus.

• Disabilities and Universal Access: Offers grants to organizations in complying with ADA requirements within their facilities (e.g. elevator, handrails, automatic doors, and ramps) or offering services targeted for individuals with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities.
• Environmental: Provides funds for organizations that strive to protect strategic parcels of land and bodies of water as well as programs that educate the general public on key environmental issues such as conservation and water management.
• Historic Preservation: Provides funding for organizations that preserve historical artifacts (e.g. sites, structures, objects) and accounts (e.g. events), and educate the greater community on their significance. Examples include museums, historical societies and educational programming.

Capacity building is not general operating support. Capacity building is defined as the ability of nonprofits to fulfill their missions in an effective manner. Capacity building grants may include but are not limited to technology or equipment purchases, professional development, technical assistance, etc.

Grant Guidelines

Grants from the John Krakauer Charitable Trust are guided by the donor’s philanthropic vision to support programs that have a measurable impact on people’s lives, with a focus on education, health, and human services in the Southern Nevada region and/or the San Diego area. Charitable organizations that are mission-centered, innovative, entrepreneurial, impactful, passionate, and collaborative exemplify the core values of the donor’s philanthropy.

Average giving

Average grant size for the first time grantee: $10,000.00 

Larger grants may be awarded to repeat grantees based on the impact made by the prior funding.

Grant Requests

All grants from Nevada State Bank will be made to community organizations whose primary purpose is “community development” and whose services benefit areas or individuals within the Bank’s CRA Assessment Areas. Community Development is defined as activities that promote economic development; that support permanent job creation, retention, and/or improvement for low and moderate-income (LMI) individuals; activities that revitalize or stabilize LMI geographies; activities that promote community services targeted to LMI individuals including shelter, food, education, health or social services.

Low income is defined as income that is less than 50% of the area median income. Moderate income is defined as income that is between 50%-80% of the area median income.

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation’s mission is to assist children and youth who have been victims of child abuse and neglect, and to prevent others from suffering a similar fate. The Foundation will only consider requests from organizations that closely align with our mission and that serve communities where In-N-Out Burger does business.

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation is happy to consider the following types of grants:

Traditional Grants: Grant awards range from $5,000 - $25,000.

Program: Restricted funding to support the development, expansion, or enhancement of programs within an existing organization.

General Operating Support: Unrestricted funding to support the overall operations and sustainability of your nonprofit. Applicants must present a strong case on how this funding will help sustain the organization’s mission and provide benefits to the children in their care. *Please note that all of your organization’s programs must align with our mission to be considered for this type of support.

Capital Grants: Grant awards range from $5,000 - $50,000.

Capital Campaign: Restricted funding for the construction of new facilities, renovations or upgrades to existing buildings, and other special projects that will enhance the organization’s mission.

Capital Purchase: Restricted funding to purchase equipment, furnishings, or any other major material purchases that will enhance the organization’s mission.

Capital grants are awarded on a very limited basis each year. The Foundation will only consider requests from organizations that meet all other funding criteria and who already have an established long-term funding relationship with the Foundation (minimum of 2 years).

Albertsons Companies Foundation's Nourishing Neighbors program is dedicated to fighting food insecurity and ensuring that at-risk children, adults, seniors, and families have access to the food they need to succeed. The program supports various initiatives, including providing nutritious breakfasts for children, holiday dinners, and school pantries. Since inception in 2014, Nourishing Neighbors raised and donated over $300 million, enabling more than 1 billion meals to be donated to communities, including those affected by disasters. The program also focuses on long-term solutions to hunger, such as connecting people to federal meal programs like SNAP and WIC. Through these efforts, we aim to create sustainable and lasting change in the fight against hunger.

We have set a bold new goal: to enable 1.5 billion meals and invest $10 million annually to break the cycle of hunger by 2030.

Nourishing Neighbor O Organics Fight Hunger Serve Hope Grant

This grant is generously funded by O Organics, part of Albertsons Companies’ Own Brands portfolio, to support organizations that are actively working to reduce food insecurity for low-income individuals, including children, families, women, and seniors.

In particular, we are seeking proposals for programs that increase access to meals and/or boost participation in federal nutrition programs, such as school meals, Summer EBT etc.

Funding will support programs including, but not limited to:

• Summer Meals: Providing free, nutritious meals and snacks to children and teens 18 and under during the summer months.
• After School Meals: Ensuring children receive free, nutrition meals during the school year, after regular school hours.
• Capacity Building: Training, technical assistance, and outreach to help organizations start or expand meal programs.
• Connecting People to Summer EBT: Programs that help eligible families access and use Summer EBT, conduct outreach, and assist with enrollment.
• Food Distribution: Support programs that help provide food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

The funding period is one year from the date funds are received.

Over the next five years, we will continue to support meaningful Food as Medicine interventions that enhance the quality and accessibility of nutritious foods across the country. We invite qualified nonprofits with a history of successful community initiatives to join us in this mission.

The Foundation will prioritize funding for programs that improve clinical health outcomes for individuals with diet-related conditions and that increase access to nutritious foods for populations experiencing food/ nutrition insecurity.

Grant Program Goals

Elevance Health Foundation is requesting proposals for programs and initiatives that support one or more of the following goals:

• Improve clinical outcomes for individuals with diet-related conditions experiencing high social risk
• Increase access to nutritious foods for populations experiencing high social risk and food/nutrition insecurity

 The amount requested should be limited to costs directly related to implementation of the proposed program, and may include support for measurement, evaluation and reporting.

Grant Term: 1–3 years based on need (12-month increments)

About the Foundation

A firm handshake, a clear steady gaze, a welcoming smile, a persuasive energy and a dynamic achiever… this was Frank Doyle. He attended Fordham and Rutgers Universities and he, along with his wife Gertrude R. Doyle combined education with a dedication to the belief that when opportunity knocks, it’s wise to open the door. From New Jersey to Nevada, Florida to California, Frank found challenges and embraced them with a zest and vigor that never said, “it can’t be done.” The seventh son of immigrant parents his was a life well lived. After the passing of Frank M. Doyle in 1996, Gertrude R. Doyle founded The Frank M. Doyle Foundation, Inc. Initially, the foundation provided scholarships to students in the Huntington Beach, California area. As described by Gertrude R. Doyle,

Over the years, the foundation expanded the scholarship application pool to include students from Orange County, California Community Colleges, Washoe County, Nevada students, and certain vocational school students to its application pool. The foundation also branched out beyond the academic world and began providing grants to nonprofit organizations in an effort to fulfill Mr. and Mrs. Doyle’s dream of a better world for all. In late 2008, after the passing of Gertrude R. Doyle, the foundation adopted the name, The Frank M. and Gertrude R. Doyle Foundation, Inc., and in 2018 became “The Doyle Foundation, Inc.”

The Doyle Foundation, Inc. awards grants for the betterment of life.

Rosendin Foundation Annual Grant

All financial grants are made to community-focused non-profit organizations located in the states where Rosendin and MPS currently conducts business. Grants are awarded in support of the Foundation’s current focus areas (emotional, occupational, and nutritional health) that align with our mission.

Funding

The Rosendin Foundation has an annual financial grant cycle where qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply for grants up to $50,000.

Mission

Dr. William Evans Dean III (Bill) attended the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Nevada. He served his country in Vietnam as part of the U.S. Air Force and later graduated with honors from dental school. In addition to all these accomplishments, he was a registered Texas longhorn rancher, recreational pilot and avid animal lover. His passion for helping others continues in perpetuity through the establishment of the William E. Dean III Charitable Foundation, which he created in 2009.

Las Vegas Area Grants

The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities provides funds to organizations that meet the needs of children throughout Southern Nevada. We can best affect children’s lives by supporting organizations that work tirelessly to see that children’s needs are met and that no child is left behind regardless of illness, social environment or disability. In 2022, SCC Las Vegas distributed $500,000 in grants to 63 local child-related organizations. Since our inception in 1982, Speedway Children's Charities has donated more than $65 million to local organizations, benefitting children across America.

Focus Areas

Services provided to children should be focused on:

Critical Needs – victims of sex trafficking, homeless, orphans, foster population, food security

Education – tutoring, literacy, after school programs

Medical – illness, dental, disability, therapy

Dermody Properties Foundation

The Dermody Properties Foundation was founded in 1988, funded by the profits generated by the hard work and dedication of all the employees at Dermody. With a focus on the arts, education, and the family, as well as a special emphasis on children and the elderly, our employee-managed Foundation has benefited thousands of families through hundreds of nonprofit organizations and causes.

Since its inception, the Dermody Properties Foundation has donated more than $3.65 million to a variety of nonprofits in the communities in which we do business. We are pleased to have awarded grants and scholarships to organizations such as: Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Northern Nevada Food Bank, Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, Laura's House, Neighborhood Center, East Bay Kidpower, YMCA, Niles Township Homeless Respite Center, The Empowerment Center and BeLoved Atlanta We are especially proud to have sponsored two Habitat for Humanity houses, with both funds and volunteer labor.

Guidelines for Application

Dermody believes in corporate philanthropy. Corporate financial institutions help to improve the quality of life for everyone in our community. We have chosen to support and sustain organizations that focus on the arts, education and the family, with special emphasis on children, the elderly, the disabled, substance abuse and the homeless.

Corporate contributions are made possible by the hard work and dedication of all the employees at Dermody. The Dermody Properties Foundation is a charitable organization established by the employees of Dermody to benefit the citizens of the communities in which we do business.

Grants typically range from $500 to $3,000.

The Howe Foundation was established by Thomas E. Howe of Clark County, Nevada who passed away in 2013.

The Foundation supports charitable organizations located in the United States whose principal purposes are in the areas of education or medical advancements, or are game hunters associations. The Howe Foundation Grants are administered by Wells Fargo Bank as trustees, through applications that are reviewed at the annual grant meeting in September.

WESTAF’s TourWest Grant provides flexible funding for presenters/presenting organizations within the WESTAF region to support their regional touring program. WESTAF also encourages the inclusion of community/educational outreach as part of an organization’s presentation of touring artists. 

TourWest is a competitive grant program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts to provide subsidies to arts and community organizations in the 13-state WESTAF region and jurisdictions, including Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa for the presentation of touring performers and literary artists. 

Through TourWest, WESTAF and the National Endowment for the Arts aim to encourage the presentation of performing arts programming to culturally diverse audiences and those that do not typically enjoy ready access to the performing arts. In order to understand local needs and interests, WESTAF advocates working directly with individuals and groups from the communities that your organization seeks to serve. Community engagement and participation are key components of a successful TourWest grant application. 

WESTAF defines regional touring as programming that presents out-of-state touring artists and/or in-state touring artists traveling at least 50 miles to your venue. Presenters/presenting organizations are defined as organizations that present or host guest artists for engagements in their communities. Presenters can include but are not limited to community cultural organizations, community centers, churches, schools/colleges/universities, libraries, museums, film festivals/series, and performing arts centers. Typically, producing organizations or performing arts groups are not considered presenters, and are encouraged to contact WESTAF to discuss eligibility.

TourWest seeks to support the engagement of new audiences as well as collaboration between the presenters, artists, agents, and communities. In addition to working collaboratively with the artist(s) and/or community partners in planning the project, WESTAF encourages presenters to take advantage of opportunities such as block booking, presenter networks, and booking conferences to reduce costs and make artistic opportunities available to a broader audience. Partnerships and collaborative efforts between presenters are considered in the panel’s evaluation of an application and project.

Program Overview

Creative West’s TourWest grant program, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, provides funding to presenters and presenting organizations to bring touring performers and literary artists to communities throughout the Western region.

Regional touring is defined as:

Programming that brings out-of-state touring artists to your venue, or In-state artists traveling at least 50 miles from their home base TourWest focuses on expanding access to the performing arts, especially in underserved communities.

To support this goal:

• Creative West encourages working closely with local individuals and groups to understand and meet community needs.
• Applicants are urged to include community engagement or educational outreach activities in their projects.
• Collaboration with artists, agents, and community partners is highly encouraged, along with strategies like block booking and using presenter networks to reduce costs and maximize impact.
