The Mary E. and Curtis M. Chappell Jr. Fund, administered by the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, supports arts and humanities activities on the Virginia Peninsula. Grants range from $1,000 to $1,200 for arts projects and from $5,000 to $10,000 for high schools. The foundation has a rich history of giving, contributing over $344 million since its inception in 1950. Notably, it has established numerous scholarships and grants to bolster community initiatives.

The VOICES of Philanthropy Grant Program, established in 1998 by the Community Foundation of DeKalb County, empowers youth from local high schools to engage in philanthropy. By fostering leadership skills and community awareness, the program supports charitable initiatives in DeKalb County, Indiana. It encourages student-led organizations to apply for grants that address diverse community needs, while excluding funding for individual projects or religious purposes.

Enhance Hamilton County Foundation

The mission of the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the quality of life for citizens in Hamilton County. To these ends, the Foundation will promote endowment collaboration, and public leadership for the benefit of the designated area.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation was formed in 2005 as an affiliate of the Greater Des Moines Foundation. The founding members of the organization had a vision to ensure that our communities’ charitable programs were supported now and in the future.

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation will provide grants to improve the quality of life throughout Hamilton County, Iowa. We want to help develop all our communities into places where people want to live, as well as, to benefit rural areas of the county.

Our Charitable Giving Grants Program is designed to help communities most affected by the rising cost of living—especially those burdened by high energy expenses. By prioritizing funding for nonprofit organizations helping individuals and families meet their basic needs and access high quality workforce development opportunities, we aim to reduce financial strain and promote long-term economic stability for residents across our service area.

The Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation provides Operations Grants to support arts and humanities organizations in Central Indiana. These grants, ranging from $1,000 to $75,000, aim to help smaller organizations fulfill their core missions. First-time applicants must submit a Letter of Intent, while previous recipients are exempt. Successful proposals demonstrate effective mission execution, leadership, and measurable outcomes to complement other funding sources.

Leslie Grants - "Small but Mighty!"

A new grant-making approach for the Foundation, Leslie Grants are available to nonprofit organizations seeking requests between $500 and $1,000 all year, any time, until the cycle closes on October 30th 2026, or until the allocated funds are depleted. This grant cycle was introduced to accommodate smaller projects that may require funding outside of the timeline of other grant cycles.

The Energy Efficiency Investment Fund (EIFF) offers Prescriptive Pathway Grants to non-residential facilities in Delaware to enhance energy efficiency. These grants cover up to 60% of project costs, with a maximum award of $250,000 per location annually. Eligible projects include upgrading lighting, HVAC systems, and appliances to energy-efficient models. Applicants must reserve funding before purchasing equipment, and a pre-approval process is recommended to ensure eligibility. This initiative supports diverse community sectors, including small and minority-owned businesses.

The primary mission of the Office of Accounts and Control is to promote the financial integrity and accountability of state government through sound administrative and accounting controls and procedures.

State of Rhode Island Designated Grants

State Designated Grants are funded through the state budget. In 2016, the Community Service Grant program was eliminated and replaced in favor of state agency-administered itemized budget appropriations and competitive grants. The Department of Administration’s Office of Accounts and Control has developed a standard payment policy and uniform set of procedures that will enhance the transparency and accountability of our state grant-funding system, while also taking into account best practices from across state and federal entities.

Designated Grants are funded each fiscal year though the Rhode Island State Budget. State Agencies are awarded specific allocations of funding, stated in the budget. If your organization is awarded funds from a State Agency, you will be contacted by said State Agency with information about your award and instructions on how to submit an application.

The Basil L. King Scholarship Foundation offers two-year scholarships to St. Lucie County residents pursuing careers in health sciences. Established in 1978, the Foundation supports students with financial needs and encourages local talent to return to the Treasure Coast after graduation. To qualify, applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be accepted into a Health Science program. Awards are determined annually, ensuring support for future healthcare professionals.

Sumter Community Foundation

Grant Summary

Sumter Community Foundation Grants support nonprofit organizations working to strengthen Sumter County. Guided by local leadership, grants invest in projects and programs that address community needs, expand opportunity and improve quality of life for residents.

The Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund is a pioneering initiative empowering youth and intergenerational organizations to shape the responsible technology movement. With $1.5 million in funding, it offers grants between $25,000 and $200,000 to U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charities. The fund focuses on enhancing human rights, addressing social issues through tech, and ensuring equitable access, while encouraging innovative and equitable solutions from youth-led initiatives.

The Ecumenical Education Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Grundy County, provides financial support to churches and Christian-based nonprofits in Grundy County. This fund aims to foster educational initiatives, evangelical outreach, energy efficiency projects, and emergency aid. Applications are accepted year-round, with specific deadlines for larger grants. This funding opportunity is designed to empower community-driven efforts that enrich the lives of local residents.

The Partnership Grant by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs supports projects that enhance Iowa's arts and culture landscape. These discretionary grants align with the Iowa Arts Council's strategic goals for 2022-2026, focusing on regional arts convenings and initiatives that foster community well-being. Eligible organizations can apply to strengthen collaboration and improve arts practices, thereby enriching the quality of life in Iowa through cultural engagement.

Community Support Grant Program

The Cortez City Council endeavor to promote community support organizations through this grant process. Community support organizations may receive grants to support activities and programs that are accessible to the City of Cortez community and encourage the development of healthy community organizations that provide programs for citizen welfare and education in the region. 

Grant requests for $5,000 or less shall be made using the City of Cortez’ grant application.

The Elkin/Tri-County Grants, managed by the Winston-Salem Foundation, aim to enhance community investment, philanthropic services, and student aid in Forsyth County. The foundation prioritizes projects that foster an inclusive economy and equitable education. Nonprofits serving the Tri-Counties area can apply for funding, with an emphasis on collaborative initiatives. Grants support innovative ideas but typically do not cover ongoing expenses or capital campaigns. The initiative is dedicated to impactful, lasting contributions to the local community.

The Just Tech Fellowship, supported by the Social Science Research Council, aims to empower diverse researchers and practitioners to address injustices arising from new technologies. With a two-year award of $100,000 annually, this fellowship fosters collaboration and community engagement, promoting equitable tech futures. It focuses on the intersection of technology and social justice, encouraging insights from historically marginalized groups to inform structural change and create a more just society.

The Ohio Valley Jaycees Charitable Fund Grant, administered by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, supports local charitable organizations in Ohio and West Virginia. Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt and provide services in specific counties. The fund emphasizes community improvement and accepts one application per cycle, ensuring fair distribution. Note that grants are not available for individuals or for-profit entities, and applications must follow strict submission guidelines.

The Nagel Foundation Grant supports non-profits in southwest Idaho by providing financial assistance to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations. The Foundation has a selective grant-making process, focusing on community enrichment through education and service. It does not fund political campaigns, projects outside southwest Idaho, or grants to individuals. This targeted approach ensures that funds are allocated effectively to benefit the local community.
