The Gresham Community Enhancement Grant, initiated in 2017, supports various projects aimed at improving neighborhood appearance, enhancing public safety, and preserving local wildlife. Funded by Metro's solid waste collection fees, it prioritizes initiatives that benefit under-served populations and promote community engagement. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, schools, and local government entities, making it a vital resource for enhancing livability in Gresham.

The Texas Pride Community Foundation (TPCF) offers Community Grants to support historically disadvantaged LGBTQ+ communities in Texas. Grants up to $10,000 are available for non-profits addressing community needs without requiring specific project plans. TPCF prioritizes funding for underserved geographies, people of color, and individuals with disabilities, fostering an inclusive approach to grantmaking. The foundation emphasizes community-driven solutions to systemic injustices, aiming to enhance the safety and well-being of diverse populations.

Chicago Foundation for Women

Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) invests in bold ideas, grassroots leadership, and local organizations dismantling barriers for women, girls, and gender-expansive people. Since 1985, CFW has invested over $55 million through more than 5,500 grants to organizations across the Chicago region, focusing on economic security and mobility, reproductive justice, freedom from violence, and access to health and wellness.

We envision a future where equity transforms lives and systems, creating a world where safety is certain, dignity is honored, and choice is guaranteed.

We view these impact areas as inherently interconnected and requiring a holistic approach; our work is also situated within broader systemic issues of gender, race, and economic inequities. Women and their families experience disparities simultaneously and often need to address them all at once for them to be able to stabilize and advance their health, safety, and economic security. As a result, we will be accepting applications across all four of CFW’s impact areas and encourage applicants to talk holistically about their work.

CFW believes it is essential to invest in both organizations providing direct service and organizations advancing systems change strategies; both are required and interconnected to dismantle barriers for women, girls, and gender-expansive people so that equity is possible and permanent.

The R.J. McElroy Trust, established in 1965 in Waterloo, Iowa, supports educational initiatives for young people. Focusing on nonprofit organizations and governmental entities, the trust offers funding for scholarships, internships, and educational programs primarily in northeastern Iowa counties. Since 2004, Joyful Heart has been a leading national organization with a mission to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse by building a world that prioritizes survivors’ healing.

Our Areas of Focus

We continue to carry out our mission through programming centered on survivors’ needs. We strive to fill gaps where those needs aren’t being met, without duplicating existing programs. In order to build a more compassionate, more informed culture rooted in the possibility and promise of healing, we focus on three key areas: Awareness and Community Building, Policy and Advocacy and Healing Programs.

Heal the Healers Grant 

Helping alleviate the effects of secondary trauma for the long-term wellbeing of professionals who support survivors

Building for a System of Care and Compassion

Heal the Healers Grantmaking Program provides critical support for professionals who help survivors heal and seek justice. People working on the frontlines of survivor-centered services are subject to the often overlooked effects of secondary trauma that can emerge as a result of continuous exposure to people who have recently experienced abuse and violence.

The Heal the Healers Grant Fund and Grantee Learning Cohorts provide resources to mitigate the effects of secondary trauma among the practitioners responsible for the earliest stages of survivors’ paths to justice and healing. Creating a safer, more compassionate world for the people who do this work helps lay a foundation for lasting change and a world where every survivor’s healing is prioritized.

The Heal the Healers Fund provides micro-grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofit, Tribal, or governmental organizations supporting survivors for training, small capital projects, or organizational activities.

Areas of Support

The Joyful Heart Foundation has established the following guidelines for its Heal the Healers Fund grants to support those working directly with survivors in the following areas.

• Training and/or program development on self-care practices such as training in trauma-informed yoga, breathwork, somatic therapy, etc.
• Small capital items and equipment that specifically allow staff and volunteers to address their self care needs such as daylight lamps for staff or new furniture for a break room.
• Staff activities to build and support connections between colleagues such as, trust building experiences, monthly pizza nights, or bagel Fridays.
• Or any combination of the above. 

In addition to the financial support, grantees will also be invited to join a peer learning community cohort that includes:

• Opportunities to amplify their fellowship/cohort experiences to inspire others in the field
• Virtual peer-to-peer networking opportunities
• Virtual training/presentations by leading healers, therapists and other professionals with expertise in cutting edge vicarious trauma, empowerment, leadership and therapeutic modalities

The DeKalb County Community Foundation offers Community Needs Grants to support capital assets and equipment for various projects in DeKalb County, Illinois. This funding aims to enhance areas such as arts, community development, education, environmental welfare, and health services. Eligible organizations can request up to $20,000, with applications opening two months before deadlines. For those seeking facility construction or expansion, the Build the Future Grant is encouraged, providing a pathway for significant funding opportunities.

The 'What If...' Mini Grants program, funded by the Rosamond Gifford Charitable Corporation, aims to empower City of Syracuse residents aged 12 and older to enhance their neighborhoods. Grant applicants must attend an orientation and are encouraged to partner with an advisor if under 18. The initiative seeks projects that foster community participation and address local needs, ensuring that the voices of Syracuse residents are heard and valued.

The Otter Tail Corporation Foundation Grant Program focuses on supporting 501(c)(3) organizations in communities across Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Priorities include early childhood education, health services for families in need, community development, and environmental sustainability. While the 2025 budget is fully allocated, they encourage applications for 2026, emphasizing collaborative projects that create measurable impacts.

The St. Johns Cultural Council offers the State of the Arts Grants, providing six $1,500 awards to support individual artists and arts organizations in St. Johns County. Applications open annually on September 1st, aiming to fund innovative projects in various artistic disciplines. Priority is given to proposals that engage underserved communities or enhance arts education. This competitive grant process encourages creative proposals while ensuring minimal application burden on applicants.

The Custer County Foundation Grant aims to enhance community life in Custer County by supporting local nonprofit organizations. Eligible groups can apply for funding in various areas, including health care, education, and community services. The Foundation prioritizes requests demonstrating broad community support and prefers to partially fund projects. All grants expire 180 days post-approval, and recipients are encouraged to report on fund usage. This initiative fosters local engagement and development for a better future.

The REPI Challenge, initiated by the DOD's REPI Program, aims to protect critical testing and training capabilities through funded projects. Since 2012, over $193 million has been allocated to 69 initiatives, leveraging more than $512 million in partner contributions. The upcoming 2026 REPI Challenge will focus on strategic mission safeguarding, with up to $20 million available for preventing land use conflicts and enhancing military resilience, thus ensuring the longevity of vital defense capabilities.

The Lucy Downing Nisbet Charitable Fund, established in 2002, supports educational, health, human services, and arts programming for underserved populations in Vermont. It prioritizes organizations focused on healthcare, domestic violence awareness, and environmental conservation. Eligible applicants must have a Vermont office, while grants are not made for deficit financing or capital projects. Special consideration is given to local organizations serving Morrisville, VT, and those addressing critical health and community issues.

The Stray Dog Institute Grants aim to transform food systems by providing funding and support to nonprofits focused on animal welfare, environmental advocacy, and food justice. With grant amounts typically ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, the Institute prioritizes pragmatic solutions that foster dignity, justice, and sustainability. By addressing systemic issues in food production, they promote a compassionate approach that respects both people and animals. This initiative seeks to create a sustainable future for all stakeholders in the food system.

The CREST program by the NSF aims to bolster research capabilities at minority-serving institutions (MSIs) through education and research integration. It specifically supports STEM doctoral programs and encourages proposals in high-priority areas such as AI and climate change. By enhancing the institutional capacity, the program seeks to increase the number of underrepresented doctoral graduates in STEM fields, thereby fostering diversity and innovation in scientific research.

The Kelley Foundation Grant Program provides funding to tax-exempt organizations in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, focusing on community enrichment through health services, housing, youth development, food security, arts, and environmental initiatives. Applications are accepted year-round, with a review process that may take up to six months. Note that grants are not awarded to the same organization within a three-year period, and private foundations are ineligible for funding.

BMO Gives is committed to fostering positive societal impact through community support and charitable initiatives. It focuses on enhancing community and economic resilience, as well as environmental sustainability. Eligible applicants must be registered charities or non-profits operating in Canada or the U.S. and align with BMO's corporate values, which promote inclusivity and non-discrimination. The program aims to support projects that address significant societal needs and empower local communities.

The dsm-firmenich Progress Foundation Scholarship is looking to support young entrepreneurs making a local or global impact in communities around the globe in one of three focus areas:

• Fighting Malnutrition.
• Strengthening community resilience.
• Protecting and restoring ecosystems.  

Examples of relevant work include, but are not limited to:

• Initiatives which address micronutrient deficiencies and ensure food with the highest quality and nutritional value reach the most vulnerable.
• Initiatives which strengthen community resilience and address social inequality.
• Initiatives that restore and protect ecosystems, building nature's resilience by addressing climate action, biodiversity protection and safeguarding water systems. 

What will you receive?

Selected scholars will receive:

• Access to the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.
• Hotel Accommodation in Cape Town, checking in on 31 October and checking out on 8 November.
• Travel to and from Cape Town (flights in economy).
• Catering which includes breakfast at the hotel accommodation and lunch and dinner during the core Summit days.
• Ground transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.
• Pre and post-programme in Cape Town and the opportunity to join the dsm-firmenich delegation during the Summit. 

The Park City Community Foundation offers grants to nonprofit organizations serving the greater Park City and Summit County area, focusing on community needs and effective programs. They encourage applications for general support, especially in light of COVID-19's impact. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits and operate within Summit County. The foundation prioritizes partnerships, professionalism, leadership, and innovation to enhance community wellbeing and address pressing issues.

The Edge of Appalachia – Adams County Fund Grant provides up to $25,000 to support projects in Adams County, Ohio, focusing on environmental protection, renewable energy, and reducing disparities in food security and healthcare. With a total funding pool of $100,000 for 2024, eligible applicants include public and nonprofit organizations serving the county. Ineligible expenses include fossil fuel projects and administrative costs. This initiative aims to enhance community well-being and promote sustainable practices.
