What We Fund

The Youngstown Foundation’s grants reflect our desire to be innovative, inclusive and responsive to the needs of our local community. The foundation's Distribution Committee approves all grant awards.

The Williamson Fund of The Youngstown Foundation invites small to midsize local charities to receive an additional matching grant for contributions received from individuals. Donors can simply make contributions directly payable to approved organizations. The Youngstown Foundation will provide support (valued at $5,000) that may include primetime television advertisement.

Ethnic Media Grants

Through the State of Minnesota’s 2025-2027 biennial legislation and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (Legacy), the Minnesota Humanities Center (MHC) will administer $472,500 for ethnic media grants to ethnic media organizations that work to create, celebrate, and teach the art, culture, and heritage of the many diverse cultural groups that make up Minnesota, including but not limited to Indigenous organizations, communities whose culture and heritage have been historically underrepresented, recent immigrant communities, and veterans.

The Legislature in providing this funding is seeking to fund ethnic media organizations throughout Minnesota to create video content in a language other than English.

An applicant that receives funding under this grant opportunity must do at least one of the following:

• Preserve and honor the cultural heritage of Minnesota,
• Provide education and student outreach in cultural diversity,
• Support the development of culturally diverse humanities programming, including arts programming, or
• Empower communities in building identity and culture, including preserving and honoring communities whose Indigenous cultures are endangered or disappearing.

Non-profit Grant

Program Description

Hamilton County provides discretionary grants for nonprofit organizations that meet certain criteria. Awards are provided based on application score and funding available. The Grant Program is intended to provide funding for services provided by organizations that without providing those services the County Hospital and/or other governmental entity may need to consider the development of such programming.

Any funds awarded must be supported by other funding sources or documented in-kind services and may only be distributed to organizations headquartered in Hamilton County. Preference for funding will go to those organizations that provide services in furtherance of County goals and without the providing of these services the County Hospital and/or other governmental entity may need to consider the development of such programming.

Prudential Community Grant

We are pleased to share grant opportunities for area nonprofit organizations.

Administered in collaboration with CFNJ, this program offers microgrants to local organizations, small businesses, and individuals for projects that create vibrancy in Newark neighborhoods.

These grants also empower residents and local changemakers, who typically lack access to financial resources, to make changes they want to see. 

Grant amount: Up to $2,500 for individuals and up to $5,000 for nonprofit organizations (or those with a fiscal sponsor)

The Foundation’s Clifton Community Fund accepts applications once a year. Applications received outside of the grant cycle are not accepted.

The Keystone Savings Foundation Grant supports non-profit organizations in Lehigh Valley, focusing on education, health services, arts, community development, and economic growth. Grants under $25,000 are reviewed quarterly, with funding for programs, operations, and capital projects. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations within specified counties and can only apply once per year. Ineligible projects include fundraising events and salary support. The Val A. Green and Edith D. Green Foundation provides grants to charitable organizations serving the community in Utah, focusing on healthcare, medical research, education, and community projects. Only public charities with 501(c)(3) status can apply, and preference is given to local charities along the Wasatch Front. Applications must be resubmitted annually, and grants are not available for foreign recipients or political groups.

The Rees-Jones Foundation, established in 2006, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in North Texas through thoughtful philanthropy. With a mission grounded in the love of Christ, the foundation supports non-profits in various sectors including animal welfare, child welfare, and community benefit. It particularly focuses on initiatives that foster community transformation and is open to grant applications year-round, encouraging early submissions to ensure timely funding.

The Livonia Community Foundation Grant supports 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations serving Livonia residents. The Foundation, a certified charitable organization, promotes community resources, cultural interests, and welfare programs. Contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible and help fund various charitable, educational, and recreational projects. By investing assets conservatively, the Foundation ensures a sustainable return to support its mission and commitments, enhancing the quality of life in Livonia through strategic funding.

The Keystone Savings Foundation Grant supports non-profit organizations in the Lehigh Valley, focusing on education, health services, arts, community development, and economic revitalization. Grants of $25,000 or more are reviewed annually, with applications due by August 15. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) compliant and can apply for funding in various categories, but restrictions apply to consecutive funding years. The foundation does not support certain fundraisers or debt reduction efforts.

The Grigg-Lewis Foundation Grant supports projects benefiting residents of Eastern Niagara County and Western New York. The foundation focuses on arts, education, health, and community improvement. Grants of $90,000 or more are reviewed quarterly, while smaller requests are considered at staff discretion. Applicants must demonstrate sustainability and provide a 501(c)(3) letter. The foundation prioritizes collaborations among nonprofits but gives lower priority to scholarships and religious organizations not historically supported by its founder.

The Greater Brewton Foundation Grant supports local non-profits in the Greater Brewton area by funding projects that enhance health, education, culture, and neighborhood improvement. Established in 1994, the Foundation awards grants annually, providing crucial resources to a variety of organizations, including schools, healthcare, and food pantries. Non-profits can apply for funding requests of $3,000 or less, or for larger amounts, with applications accepted each October.

The Benton Telecommunications Foundation Grant aims to enhance human development across spiritual, intellectual, physical, and psychological domains. The foundation prioritizes projects that promote healthy living, address basic human needs, and foster educational and personal development. It supports community improvement initiatives, particularly in Benton County, Minnesota, while considering the financial need of applicants and the potential community impact of proposed projects.

The Aegon Transamerica Foundation Grant supports non-profit organizations focused on enhancing financial and social empowerment in communities where Transamerica employees live and work. Established in 2000, the foundation prioritizes initiatives that foster self-reliance, financial literacy, and community engagement. Eligible organizations must be IRS 501(c)(3) non-profits operating in specific locations such as Atlanta, GA and Denver, CO. The foundation does not fund individuals or certain types of organizations, aiming to create inclusive, resilient communities.

The Unity Foundation Community Grants aim to address local needs through innovative projects that enhance quality of life in La Porte County. Established as a permanent fund, it supports initiatives in arts, health, education, and community development. Grants are competitive and prioritize one-time projects that leverage additional funding and foster collaboration among organizations. In 2021, nearly $200,000 was awarded, ensuring sustainable support for community efforts for generations to come.

The PACF: Special and Urgent Needs (SUN) Grants provide up to $4,000 to support organizations facing unforeseen emergencies or opportunities requiring immediate funding. Open to 501(c)(3) non-profits and public institutions in the PACF’s 11-county service area, these grants aim to quickly address urgent community needs. Applications can be submitted anytime to the Foundation's Senior Program Officer, ensuring timely assistance for critical projects.

The Community Foundation of Jackson County offers Fall Grants aimed at enhancing education, economic development, human services, and arts and culture within Jackson County, Indiana. The foundation prioritizes applications from organizations demonstrating responsible money management and a commitment to charitable purposes as defined by the IRS. These grants are designed to foster community improvements and ensure that local residents benefit from innovative programs and services.

The Inspire Giving Fund Grant, established by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, aims to promote civic engagement and philanthropy in the Sacramento area. It supports organizations focusing on Community and Economic Development and Affordable Housing, offering monetary contributions up to $10,000. Eligible applicants must have 501(c)3 status, a strong operational history, and a commitment to enhancing local quality of life. This initiative encourages collaborative efforts for a vibrant community by funding impactful projects.

The Waco Foundation offers Program/Operating Support Grants aimed at 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving McLennan County, Texas.
