Who We Are

The Creag Foundation is a private grant making foundation established in 2009 in Woodinville, Washington.

The founders of the Creag Foundation believe that meaningful change can only be achieved through hard work, creativity and passion. They also understand the practical mechanisms that allow charitable organizations to succeed and grow. As a group, Creag Foundation principals are dedicated to helping today’s most innovative programs improve the human condition in a wide variety of ways.

Our Focus

The broad purpose of the Foundation is to support the efforts of nonprofit organizations who are innovators in the field of human services. Our particular focus is on smaller organizations that are starting out or established organizations that are looking for funding to take their organization in a new direction.

The Creag Foundation is focused on innovation in the industry. We will consider proposals from 501(c)(3) organizations that are finding new ways to address societal issues facing the nonprofit community. Applicants must have held 501(c)(3) status for one year before submitting. If your organization has held 501(c)(3) status for over a year, and your believe that your organization has a new approach to an existing social problem or is addressing a previously unaddressed social issue, you are welcome to contact us and request that we consider your organization for a funding opportunity.

Mission

The DanPaul Foundation will use its resources to help train teachers and parents in early childhood development, protect children from abuse and neglect, stimulate children's personal social responsibilities, and offer them opportunities for enrichment and growth.

The Foundation will also encourage children to be concerned and informed about the environment and the underprivileged, particularly with regard to clean air and water, and adequate housing and nutrition for all.

Beliefs

The DanPaul Foundation believes that children should have ample opportunities for enrichment in their lives, and thus strives to provide many different ways to enrich and expand children's minds through direct programs and monetary support to organizations doing similar work.

We have provided or currently provide grants related to the following program areas:

• Workshops, Conferences, + Seminars: We strive to offer educational workshops, conferences, and seminars for parents and teachers on topics related to early childhood development.
• Student Scholarships: We aim to help students attending post-secondary education institutions by providing need-based and academic scholarships.
• Scientific Endeavors: We desire to advance scientific endeavors which seek to improve the quality of life for everyone in the world.
• Clean Air + Water: We hope to pass on knowledge and practical life skills to youth regarding their personal responsibility to the environment, teaching them about issues surrounding clean air and water.
• Child Advocacy: We believe in protecting children from abuse and neglect and particularly love to support programs that provide education and assistance to children as well as organizations advocating or caring for vulnerable children.
• Homelessness: We want to encourage young people to take a personal interest in seeing that adequate housing and proper nutrition, especially for the underprivileged and homeless, are available.
• Poverty + Neglect: We seek to help those in poverty as well as educate youth about their responsibility to consider the underprivileged and take care of those most in need of life's basic essentials like adequate housing and proper nutrition.
• Refugee Enrichment: We wish to help refugee youth by supporting programs that provide them enrichment and help them transition to life in a new country.

The DanPaul Foundation provides grants to 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organizations as defined by the IRS. The Foundation is interested in providing funding to programs that directly serve the health, education, development, and welfare of the world's youth.

Grants range from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000 per calendar year.

The Harold Simmons Foundation, established in 1988, is based in Dallas Texas and is funded primarily by Contran Corporation, a company controlled by Harold Clark Simmons.

The Harold Simmons Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life of all members of our community and to ensure they have the resources and opportunities to live with dignity and meaning. The Foundation strives to invest strategically in programs that support systems change and scalability of impact. We support organizations that promote early health and development, safe and enriching environments, and comprehensive support systems for individuals, children, and families. We believe advocacy and research are key elements in this work.

Grants are made by the Harold Simmons Foundation with the goal of improving lives and enriching the community.

Areas of interest include:

• education;
• health care, social welfare, including human rights;
• civic improvement; and
• culture & the arts.

We make grants for operating expenses, capital needs or special projects, generally in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 for first time applicants.  In 2024 the Foundation distributed approximately $7.3 million dollars.

We seek well-researched grant proposals for projects that address current community needs only in the Dallas, Texas area. Projects that complement other public and private efforts and/or agency collaboration is encouraged. Proposals are welcomed year round and we have no application deadlines.

We are a private family foundation on a mission to improve the quality and circumstances of life for the people of Texas now and in the future.

We provide grants throughout Texas within our program areas and also our initiatives in education, environment, homelessness, and mental health.

Arts and Culture

Our founders were passionate about the arts’ ability to illuminate and reflect our communities, reimagine conversations, promote public engagement, and preserve memories. We support organizations throughout the state that provide opportunities for all Texans to experience and benefit from the arts. Our most significant partner is Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts and the Meadows Museum.

Civic and Public Affairs

Communities thrive when effective civic leadership and healthy public systems are supported by a strong network of nonprofit organizations. We assist communities in developing leadership talent, promoting civic and public collaboration, supporting nonprofits through management and capacity-building, and improving processes and infrastructures for delivery of services to all residents. We also recognize the importance of animals and the role they have in many people’s lives. We fund projects that improve their welfare and enhance the human-animal connection.

Education

The link between quality of education and quality of life is undeniable. Knowledge empowers choices that influence our social and family environment, health and mental well-being, home and community, and career and income. Each additional year of schooling increases earnings by 8-10%. In addition, early reading, high-quality instructors, access to resources, and high expectations for all students improve life-long study skills and academic achievements.

Environment

With our population in Texas expected to increase by 73% to 51.5 million people in 2070, the impacts on our environment will be significant. We focus on preserving our rich ecological and biological resources for future generations while meeting our growing needs.

Health

Access to quality health care is essential. Health and mental health programs that offer a chance to rethink what can be accomplished with new knowledge and technology ultimately lead to Texans living healthier lives. We invest in programs and initiatives that promote innovation in services and delivery and strengthen the ecosystem of health and mental health care.

Human Services

In communities across Texas, people face overwhelming challenges and times of personal or family crisis. We support programs and agencies that thoughtfully weave compassion and respect into the support systems that improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable Texans. We also place emphasis on supporting efforts that reduce homelessness in the Dallas area.

What We Fund: Initiatives 

Five initiatives are linked to our long-term goals, and requests in these areas receive additional consideration in the review process.

Postsecondary Completion

The changing economic landscape requires a shift in the kind of preparation offered to connect Texans to jobs, career paths, livable wages, and economic and social mobility. By 2030, 60% of the Texas workforce will need a postsecondary credential to be gainfully employed, a driving factor for the state’s higher education plan. We aim to ensure that awarded postsecondary degrees, credentials, and certificates align to real-time labor needs, are affordable for all Texans, and offer value to students and society. We are working with our partners to increase postsecondary completion rates beyond current projections to meet current and future workforce demands.

Educator Preparation

Quality teachers are consistently identified as the most important school-based factor in student achievement. On average, a high-performing teacher increases student learning by 50% more than expected growth over the course of a school year. Texas has hundreds of educator preparation programs of varying quality and varying levels of accessibility to aspiring teachers. The teacher pipeline must be robust to meet the needs of a growing state with a growing student population. We are working with our partners to define, build, and scale models of high-quality educator preparation. 

Water Conservation

Texas has grown rapidly, and the state’s population is projected to expand by 70% from 2020 to 2070. While this growth can fuel robust economic development, ensuring the vitality of Texas’ cities, industries, and agriculture while also protecting natural resources will require careful water management. As water demand increases, state water supplies will drop by 18%. The state water plan suggests that water conservation strategies could meet 30% of future water supplies. 

While conservation success can be determined in part by policies, everyday water users are the conservation decision makers, and how they value water is the most crucial element of achieving an overall demand reduction. We are working with our partners to advance water conservation, with the goal of reducing the planned use of water by 30% by 2030.

Depression

Depression is the most common mental illness in the U.S. In North Texas alone, 300,000 adults and children experience depression annually. We know that mental health treatment works: two-thirds of individuals who receive evidence-based, measurement-based care get better. However, less than one in 10 receive this type of care. 

With appropriate training and support, primary care physicians can screen, identify, and provide effective behavioral and mental health treatment and referrals to their patients, which could fill this gap in care. In fact, at least 80% of individuals diagnosed with depression can be treated by their primary care physician. We are working with our partners to integrate evidence-based practices into primary care at large healthcare systems, with the goal of ending untreated depression in North Texas by 2030.

Homelessness

Thousands of individuals experience homelessness every year in Dallas and Collin counties. Our neighbors face several challenges as they try to exit homelessness, such as affordable housing shortages, increased cost of living, and limited access to resources that help them remain housed. Access to adequate housing provides the safety needed to survive and the stability needed to thrive. We are working with our partners to make homelessness in Dallas and Collin counties rare, brief, and nonrecurring. Our goal is to house 6,000 individuals experiencing chronic homelessness by 2025.

PNC Foundation

Strengthening and enriching the lives of our neighbors in communities where we live and work.

Vision & Mission

For decades, we have provided resources to seed ideas, foster development initiatives and encourage leadership in nonprofit organizations where imagination and determination are at work enhancing people's lives everyday.

The PNC Foundation's priority is to form partnerships with community-based nonprofit organizations in order to enhance educational opportunities, with an emphasis on early childhood education, and to promote the growth of communities through economic development initiatives.

Foundation Grant

The PNC Foundation supports a variety of nonprofit organizations with a special emphasis on those that work to achieve sustainability and touch a diverse population, in particular, those that support early childhood education and/or economic development.

Education

The PNC Foundation supports educational programs for children and youth, particularly early childhood education initiatives that meet the criteria established through PNC Grow Up Great. Specifically, PNC Grow Up Great grants must:

• Support early education initiatives that benefit children from birth to age five; and
• Serve a majority of children (>50%) from low- to moderate-income families; and
• Adhere to all other standard PNC Foundation guidelines, as outlined on the PNC Foundation website, applicant eligibility quiz, as well as the Foundation policies and procedures; and
• Include one or a combination of the following:
  • direct services/programs for children in their classroom or community;
  • professional development/workforce development for early childhood educators;
  • family and/or community engagement in children’s early learning
• Additional considerations:
  • The grant focus should include math, science, reading, vocabulary development, the arts, financial education, or social/emotional development.
  • The grant recipient, or collaborative partner, should have early childhood education as an area of focus. If the organization’s focus is beyond birth to age five, the specific grant must be earmarked for birth to age five.
  • Incorporate opportunities for PNC volunteers in classroom or non-classroom-based activities.

Economic Development

Economic development organizations, including those which enhance the quality of life through neighborhood revitalization, cultural enrichment and human services are given support. Priority is given to community development initiatives that strategically promote the growth of low-and moderate-income communities and/or provide services to these communities.

• Affordable Housing
  • The PNC Foundation understands the critical need for affordable housing for low-and moderate-income individuals.
  • We are committed to providing support to nonprofit organizations that:
    • give counseling and services to help these individuals maintain their housing stock;
    • offer transitional housing units and programs; and/or
    • offer credit counseling assistance to individuals, helping them to prepare for homeownership.
• Community Development
  • Because small businesses are often critical components of community growth and help foster business development, the PNC Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations that
    • offer technical assistance to, or loan programs for, small businesses located in low-and moderate-income areas or
    • support small businesses that employ low-and moderate-income individuals.
• Community Services
  • Support is given to social services organizations that benefit the health, education, quality of life or provide essential services for low-and moderate-income individuals and families.
  • The PNC Foundation supports job training programs and organizations that provide essential services for their families.
• Arts & Culture
  • Support is given for cultural enrichment programs benefitting the community.
• Revitalization & Stabilization of Low-and Moderate-Income Areas

Founded in 2006 by Jan and Trevor Rees-Jones, The Rees-Jones Foundation is a private foundation that works with non-profit organizations, primarily in North Texas, to serve others and improve their quality of life and life circumstances in tangible ways.

Hoblitzelle Foundation Grant

Hoblitzelle Foundation was established by Karl and Esther Hoblitzelle in 1942 for charitable, scientific, literacy or educational purposes within the State of Texas.  Since inception, the Directors have approved over 3,400 grants, investing over $252 million in the social service, cultural, educational, and medical organizations in Texas.

What We Fund

The Foundation supports capital projects (i.e., building construction, acquisition, renovation, equipment, vehicles, and technology) of nonprofit organizations in Texas, primarily in the Dallas area.  When grants are made outside of this geographic preference, it is likely due to a historical interest exhibited by the founder, a current interest by a board member, or the large scope of impact the grant would have on that particular region of Texas.

  • The foundation supports initiatives to conserve natural resources, capital aspects of education programs, as well as zoos and animal welfare.

  • Projects include support for capital initiatives at medical facilities, equipment for research or treatment, and a variety of health and welfare organizations.
• Social Services
  • The foundation supports the capital needs of a variety of organizations that address food insecurity, access to shelters and housing, special needs of seniors, family planning, counseling, children and youth needs, and general social service agencies.

Our signature Honors Awards is a competitive annual grant award program that recognizes three exceptional nonprofit organizations. These grants support small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations leading innovative, sustainable solutions that address critical needs in our communities. 

Two grants of $50,000 are awarded to nonprofit organizations with programs that are aligned with our Honors Award categories in Housing Solutions and Education and Workforce Development. One grant delivers $100,000 in funding to a nonprofit organization with a program dedicated to serving veterans and first responders. The Texas Capital Foundation prioritizes supporting nonprofits that deliver essential services within our markets.

Education and Workforce Development Honors Award

The Education and Workforce Development Honors Award will recognize one nonprofit organization that helps individuals transform entrepreneurial aspirations into successful, sustainable businesses. This grant will support programs that provide direct small business development services, including mentorship, training, coaching and other essential resources that equip entrepreneurs to launch, grow and thrive.

The Texas Capital Foundation Honors Awards 

Our signature Honors Awards is a competitive annual grant award program that recognizes three exceptional nonprofit organizations. These grants support small and mid-sized nonprofit organizations leading innovative, sustainable solutions that address critical needs in our communities. 

Two grants of $50,000 are awarded to nonprofit organizations with programs that are aligned with our Honors Award categories in Housing Solutions and Education and Workforce Development. Housing Solutions Honors Award

The Housing Solutions Honors Award will support one nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing long-term housing stability and generational wealth through homeownership. This grant will fund programs that offer homebuyer education, housing succession planning or estate planning — addressing systemic barriers and helping families build lasting financial security. 

The Texas Capital Foundation Honors Awards

Star Honors Award

The Star Honors Award will provide a grant to one nonprofit organization dedicated to serving veterans and first responders. This grant will support direct service programs that address the unique needs of these communities by offering resources that enhance readiness, promote mental and physical well-being and improve overall quality of life. 

The Board of Directors of the Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation is committed to the highest standards of philanthropy and to honoring the founders’ original intent, while adapting to today’s needs.

Community Grants: North Texas

Aging Population

Helping seniors protect or improve their financial independence, through efforts such as employment services, money management programs, financial literacy education, benefits counseling, debt management assistance, food and nutrition security, mental health counseling and case management, transportation, and home improvement or repair; and protecting seniors from physical or financial abuse.

Arts, Culture, and History

Providing artistic, historical, or cultural experiences that enhance learning in school-age children, or extend the benefit of the arts to children, the elderly, and others who might not otherwise have access; helping the cultural sector build future audiences and generate sustained operational funding.

Children and Youth

Assisting young people who are aging out of the foster care system in preparing for independent adulthood, including case management, education, employment, housing, and mental health services; and supporting youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.    

Economically Disadvantaged

Addressing the wealth gap by improving the financial stability and economic security of individuals and families through an integrated approach of improving financial health, income supports, and employment, offered either by a single agency or a group of agencies working in concert.

Education

Supporting the educational and social-emotional development of children ages birth to five, including pre-K programs, kindergarten readiness efforts, and quality improvement initiatives.

Our Mission

To improve the lives of families and at-risk children in the City of Dallas, Texas by partnering with organizations that provide education and family support services.

Primary Focus

Organizations or programs must fall within two areas:

Family Support

• Helping families remain intact whenever possible by supporting family stability
• Supporting the needs of children with an emphasis on child abuse prevention
• Promoting individual and family responsibility and initiative to help break the poverty-assistance cycle

Education

• Delivering systemic improvement through cost-effective, scalable initiatives with data-driven results
• Enhancing the learning process of individuals through classroom and teacher support

Better Together Fund Grants

The Better Together Fund seeks to drive large-scale social change by supporting nonprofits that come together in a formal collaboration, for a common purpose, as a way to maximize impact.

In its first five years from inception in 2017, BTF awarded 102 grants worth over $6,000,000 to 64 unique collaborations, representing 250+ organizations. Approximately 40% of funded collaborations were mergers, and the remaining 60% of collaborations were other forms of formal collaboration such as shared serivces, shared space, or long-term joint programming or coordinated strategy. 

How We Define Formal Collaboration

We see formal collaboration as a relationship between one nonprofit and another nonprofit, corporation or governmental agency that:

• changes the way participating organizations do business for the long-term and cannot easily be undone,
• has board involvement and endorsement, and
• preserves, expands or improves efficiency or services to constituents.

Success for Us Looks Like

• Big ideas. Multiple organizations create significant impact doing together what they could not have done individually.
• Efficiency. The region’s nonprofit sector is strengthened by aligning complementary strengths and resources.
• Exploration only. We’re even excited by organizations that explore coming together formally and strategically elect not to. They’ll move on with a better understanding of the landscape and their unique roles.
• The new norm. Conversations become more routine at the board and leadership level about considering formal collaboration as a way to solve problems and have more impact.

Types of Support

Exploration

1) Feasibility Grant

• Grant purpose: Answer open questions about the feasibility of a proposed formal collaboration
• Grant size: Up to $15,000
  • Up to 20% can cover general operations/staff time for partnering organizations. A minimum of 80% must be used to pay external facilitators/consultants.
• Examples of Qualifying Expenses: One-time costs associated with technical assistance providers, travel, or meeting expenses.

2) Planning Grant

• Grant purpose: Assess, negotiate and design a formal implementation plan, timeline and business model for the collaboration. 
• Grant size: Up to $50,000
  • Up to 20% can cover general operations/staff time for partnering organizations. A minimum of 80% must be used to pay external facilitators/consultants.
• Examples of Qualifying Expenses: One-time costs associated with planning activities for collaboration including legal, accounting, strategy, branding, communications, program metrics, fundraising, HR, curriculim or program designers technology.

Implementation

3) Implementation Grant

• Grant purpose: Execute a formal collaboration between two or more organizations.
• Grant size:  Up to $65,000
  • Up to 10% can cover general operations/staff time for partnering organizations. A minimum of 90% must be used to pay for one-time expenses associated with implementing the collaboration.
• Examples of Qualifying Expenses: One-time costs associated with executing a formal collaboration including change management, legal, technology, marketing, severance, or compensation adjustments.

Grant types are designed to meet organizations wherever they are. Each funding request will be considered independently.

The Esping Family Foundation exists to help people and institutions of Dallas, Texas, specifically Dallas County to help themselves and future generations. Under the terms of its charter, the Foundation can distribute grants only to qualified public entities or 501(c)(3) charities serving the people of Texas. 

Grants are made in four categories: 

• Education; 
• Human Services;
• Health;
• Arts and Culture.

Within these categories of giving, there are currently three areas of high interest. 

• Improving the educational outcome of Texas children (K-12); 
• Children and Families;
• Youth Development.

We look for one or more of the following conditions in an application:

• Targeting underserved individuals and communities; 
• Innovation in addressing issues;
• Collaboration with other organizations;
• Staff’s ability to bring out intended results;
• Evidence of accountability and evaluation;
• Foundation support would be vital or catalytic to a proposed project’s success;
• The project is well planned and the agency has the capacity to execute the plan;
• Financial support from other sources exists to ensure that the project will be implemented and continue after the grant period. It will expedite the review process if between one-third and one-half of the needed project funds have been secured before applying.

Mission

The Hillcrest Foundation was created by Mrs. W.W. Caruth, Sr. (Mrs. Earle Clark Caruth) in 1958 to provide financial support to qualified Texas charitable organizations for the advancement of education, the promotion of health and the relief of poverty. Most grants are made to charitable organizations located in Dallas County and the surrounding area.

Mrs. W.W. Caruth, Sr. was from a pioneer family who settled in the Dallas area in 1848. Several Caruth family generations owned and managed farms and ranches, which the family later developed into real estate properties as Dallas became a major metropolitan area. Each succeeding generation has been characterized by a pioneering spirit, vision, courage, hard work and generosity. The Hillcrest Foundation was created to carry the Caruth family’s generosity to the people of Texas.

The Trustees will give priority consideration to the following types of grant requests:

• Programs and special projects for education, health and poverty relief
• Construction/improvements of permanent building
• Capital campaigns
• Buildings, facilities and equipment

The majority of grants from the Hillcrest Foundation are 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded. Approximately 90% of grant funds are paid to organizations in North Texas, with emphasis on charitable services in the Dallas area. Grant amounts range from $10,000 to $300,000 (multi-year payment) with an average grant of $35,000.

Mission

The Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust was established in 1981 to support and promote quality educational, cultural, human services and health care programming for all people.

Roy Sturgis was one of ten children of an Arkansas farmer and homemaker. He dropped out of school after the tenth grade to join the Navy during World War I. Mr. Sturgis returned to his family home in southern Arkansas after the war and went to work in the local sawmills. In 1933, Roy Sturgis married Texas native Christine Johns. They became very successful in the timber, lumber and sawmill industries in Arkansas, owned other prosperous business enterprises and had notable success managing their investments. Mr. and Mrs. Sturgis spent most of their lives in Arkansas and Dallas, Texas. They did not have children, but were particularly interested in educational opportunities for young people. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Sturgis supported organizations working in the areas of health, social services and the arts.

The majority of grants from the Sturgis Charitable Trust are 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded. The Sturgis Charitable Trust encourages requests for the following types of grants:

• capital project-related
• medical research
• endowment campaigns

Funding for start-up programs and limited general operating requests will also be considered.

How and Why Giving Back to Communities is Important to O’Reilly

From O’Reilly Auto Parts’ inception, O’Reilly co-founder C.H. “Chub” O’Reilly instilled the culture of maintaining high standards for every endeavor, including the area of building civic pride. With Chub’s good example to guide them, all four of his children adopted a business and family philosophy of “giving back” to the community as the Company grew and prospered. Supporting a large number of charitable organizations in all communities in which we operate has long been a focal point for O’Reilly Auto Parts. In order to make an even greater impact, the O’Reilly Automotive Foundation was established in 2020.

The O’Reilly Automotive Foundation complements O’Reilly Auto Parts’ role as the Friendliest Parts Store in Town. The Foundation serves as an additional conduit to connect with, support, and strengthen the communities in which O’Reilly Auto Parts’ team members and customers live and work. The Foundation continues the philanthropic legacy of the O’Reilly family as dependable community partners, seeking to support critical services in times of need to build stronger communities.

Mission

The O’Reilly Automotive Foundation strives to have a lasting, positive impact in the communities where O’Reilly Auto Parts’ team members and customers live and work by supporting organizations and programs which address issues critical to improving the quality of life for underserved and underrepresented individuals and families. In particular, the Foundation will concentrate its giving in support of organizations and programs addressing economic stability and mobility, workforce development, health and social services, and disaster relief.

Economic Stability and Mobility

Advocating for and endowing programs which provide assistance with issues including hunger, homelessness, and poverty for the economic betterment of the communities in which we operate.

Workforce Development

Promoting programs which aid in workforce readiness, technical training, and literacy, including children’s literacy, to ensure the continuance of an educated society and a capable, innovative workforce.

Health and Social Services

Championing and prioritizing matters of health, including mental and behavioral health, access to basic needs such as medical and dental care for underprivileged communities, and providing funding for organizations focused on childhood development and children’s advocacy as well as care and support for victims of domestic violence.

Disaster Relief

Providing funding and visibility to organizations specializing in providing relief from natural disasters and state of emergency, including providing temporary shelter, food, water, and hygiene or sanitation products to those affected and aiding in cleanup efforts.

Application Requirements

We will consider three principal types of grants:

Project Support Grants support specific projects or programs aligned with our mission. These requests may include some funds earmarked for the overhead costs associated with running a project.

General Operating Support Grants provide limited general operating support for the core operations or organizations whose missions and activities are aligned with our mission. These grants will often help the grantee build organizational, programmatic, and fundraising capacity. Operating support is not intended to help organizations in fiscal crisis. Applicants must have a current strategic or business plan that clearly outlines the organization’s goals and presents a plan for achieving results. Operating support grants must not exceed 15% of an organization’s total agency budget.

Capital Support Grants provide limited support for capital campaigns to fund the acquisition and construction of facilities, existing property renovation, or the purchase of major equipment. The program has a comprehensive approach to funding capital initiatives, which also includes funding for increased program capacity. A feasibility study may be required for capital initiatives to be considered.

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation’s mission is to assist children and youth who have been victims of child abuse and neglect, and to prevent others from suffering a similar fate. The Foundation will only consider requests from organizations that closely align with our mission and that serve communities where In-N-Out Burger does business.

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation is happy to consider the following types of grants:

Traditional Grants: Grant awards range from $5,000 - $25,000.

Program: Restricted funding to support the development, expansion, or enhancement of programs within an existing organization.

General Operating Support: Unrestricted funding to support the overall operations and sustainability of your nonprofit. Applicants must present a strong case on how this funding will help sustain the organization’s mission and provide benefits to the children in their care. *Please note that all of your organization’s programs must align with our mission to be considered for this type of support.

Capital Grants: Grant awards range from $5,000 - $50,000.

Capital Campaign: Restricted funding for the construction of new facilities, renovations or upgrades to existing buildings, and other special projects that will enhance the organization’s mission.

Capital Purchase: Restricted funding to purchase equipment, furnishings, or any other major material purchases that will enhance the organization’s mission.

Capital grants are awarded on a very limited basis each year. The Foundation will only consider requests from organizations that meet all other funding criteria and who already have an established long-term funding relationship with the Foundation (minimum of 2 years).

Please contact us to set a 30-minute meeting to discuss your project and be prepared to send a draft summary of the project for review beforehand. 

The Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust was established in 2017 by Dorace and Morton Fichtenbaum, who lived in Dallas, to provide financial support for charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational purposes to qualified Texas charitable organizations. Dorace and Morton were both very supportive of the local community throughout their lives.

Areas of Interest

• Medical Research (specifically cancer, heart, vision and Myasthenia Gravis)
• Education and research for children with mental or physical disabilities
• Children's education and exposure to fine arts

Successful proposals are unique, necessary and of high priority for the charitable organizations, and do not duplicate other services which are available. Successful proposals seek funding that may not be readily available from other sources for essential projects that are sufficiently described as worthwhile, important and of a substantive nature.

Funding

Grant amounts will average from $10,000 to $100,000. Larger multi-year commitments can be awarded. The average grant size is $35,000.

Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation Grant

The Foundation will consider requests to support museums, cultural and performing arts programs; schools and hospitals; educational, skills-training and other programs for youth, seniors, and persons with disabilities; environmental and wildlife protection activities; and other community-based organizations and programs.

Mission

The Foundation is a public charitable trust for exclusively educational, scientific, literary, religious or charitable purposes. The Foundation was established by Fred F. Florence and Helen Lefkowitz Florence in 1956 to be used for the benefit of humanity. From the little acorn comes the mighty oak: From the original small investment of $5,000, The Florence Foundation has bestowed an excess of $3 million during the past 50 years.

The Florence Foundation Board of Governors distribute funds for any of the following uses and purposes.

• For assisting public charitable, religious or educational institutions, whether supported wholly or in part by private endowment, donation or public taxation
• For promoting and aiding scientific research for the advancement of human knowledge, for increasing the productivity of the soil and animal life, for the elimination of disease and the alleviation of human suffering
• For providing scholarships or otherwise assisting worthy young men and women, of limited means, in obtaining an education
• For the care of the sick, the aged, the needy and the helpless
• For providing facilities for public recreation
• For research into the cause of ignorance, poverty, crime and vice, preventing the operation of such causes and remedying or eliminating the conditions resulting therefrom

The Florence Foundation will review grant requests for the following types of grants:

• capital campaigns
• programs and special projects
• financial aid
• endowment campaigns

Grant amounts will range from $5,000 to $50,000. Most grants will be one year in duration
