The South Dakota Community Foundation offers an array of grants to help state nonprofits realize their dreams and continue investing in their communities. 

Tyndall Community Foundation Grant

The sole purpose of the Tyndall Community Foundation is to support the general welfare of the Tyndall community.

To date, the Tyndall Community Foundation has given back nearly $70,000 in grants to nonprofit groups and organizations in Tyndall.

Qualification

• Purpose of the project should fulfill a community need. (for example: is your project going to benefit the community in general)
• IRS now requires a non-profit organization be verified by the IRS. Proof of non-profit status may be required upon request. Governmental entities (cities, counties, schools) and churches are exempt from the verification requirements and do qualify to receive grant funding.

Discrimination

Applications from agencies offering services exclusively to one gender, age, group or race will be closely scrutinized for discriminatory practices.

Fund Distribution

• Grant applications must be completed in full.
• Grants will be reviewed and awarded at the discretion of the Tyndall Community Foundation Board.
• All applicants will be informed verbally and /or in writing to the approval or disapproval of their application.
• Funds must be used within 12 months from awarding or funds will revert back to the community funds account.

Limitations

• Tyndall Community Foundation will grant no more than a maximum of 4.5% of Fund’s Value in any single year.
• Recipients may be eligible for one grant every other year, unless surplus money is available.

Sisseton Area Community Foundation Grants

Grants from the Sisseton Area Community Foundation support non-profit organizations and groups that are addressing community needs in the Sisseton area. These grants are selected by a volunteer Advisory Board.

Selby Community Foundation Grant

Selby Community Foundation was established by a local advisory council in partnership with South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF). Their goal is to create a long-term funding source for charitable causes in the local area. With careful investment, the fund will continue to thrive and enhance quality of life in the local area creating a lasting legacy. This fund is one of 90 community savings accounts in partnership with SDCF.

The New Lebanon Arts and Humanities Fund, managed by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, aims to enrich the arts and humanities experiences for students and teachers in the New Lebanon School District. Grants ranging from $100 to $4,000 support diverse projects like extracurricular activities, visiting speakers, and professional development. The fund encourages community involvement while maintaining a strict non-discrimination policy. Applications are welcomed from all community members, fostering creativity and excellence in education.

Community Foundation of the Ozarks

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) provides philanthropic leadership to build stronger communities. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in our region through resource development, community grantmaking, collaboration and public leadership.

We help donors achieve their philanthropic goals through professional management and investment of charitable funds. We work with nonprofit organizations to help them fulfill their missions through fund administration, grantmaking and learning opportunities. We award scholarships to deserving students to help them achieve their educational goals.

Mount Vernon Area Community Grantmaking Program

The Mount Vernon Area Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for individuals in the Mount Vernon area through thoughtful grantmaking and community leadership.

The Kentucky Academy of Science offers the KAS Undergraduate Research Supply Grants to support undergraduate students in Kentucky conducting research under faculty supervision. These grants provide essential supplies and expendables that are not typically available from their institutions. This initiative aims to promote scientific discovery and understanding while empowering students to engage in meaningful research activities.

The Ed & Joyce Creske Family Foundation Grants support charitable organizations in central Wisconsin, specifically Lincoln, Marathon, and Portage Counties. The foundation prioritizes causes that positively impact the Mosinee community. However, it does not fund annual campaigns, operating expenses, debt retirement, endowments, direct individual support, lobbying, or sectarian causes. This initiative reflects the Creske family's commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them throughout their lives.

Armour Community Foundation

We are one of 90 Community Savings Accounts in South Dakota. Even though we are an agent of the South Dakota Community Foundation, we are able to accept and administer charitable gifts, give good grants to our local nonprofit groups and organizations, and also give scholarships to hopeful young people from our region. Our volunteer advisory council works hard to ensure funds are going to groups and organizations that need it most. Since 2002, the Armour Community Foundation has given back more than $150,000 to the community! 

The G. Martin Kenney Memorial Fund, established in 1995, supports charitable organizations in Ligonier, emphasizing cooperation, volunteer involvement, and innovative solutions to community issues. The fund seeks projects that benefit a broad population, are replicable, and promote independence for underserved individuals. Proposals can address diverse community needs, encouraging cultural awareness and self-sufficiency. This fund represents a commitment to enhancing local community services and fostering collaborative efforts among organizations.

Northern New York Community Foundation

Since 1929, the Northern New York Community Foundation has invested in improving and enriching the quality of life for all in communities across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Its commitment to donors helps individuals achieve their charitable objectives now and for generations to come by preserving and honoring legacies of community philanthropy while inspiring others.

The Community Foundation is a resource for local charitable organizations, donors, professional advisors and nonprofit organizations. It also works to bring people together at its permanent home in the Northern New York Philanthropy Center to discuss challenges our communities face and find creative solutions that strengthen the region and make it a great place to live, work, and play.

Micro-Grant Program

The Northern New York Community Foundation's Micro-Grant Program provides support to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for projects that align with the Foundation's mission and demonstrate clear community benefit.

The NCCF: Hagen Family Advised Fund Grant, established by the Rex Hagen Foundation in 1998, supports nonprofit organizations in Noble County. The Community Foundation of Noble County seeks innovative projects that enhance community life. Applications are due on March 2, July 2, and November 2, with awards announced 60 days later. Preference is given to proposals that address unmet needs and have sustainable support. This grant exemplifies a commitment to positive change in the community.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Grants, offered by the Kentucky Academy of Science, support undergraduate students at Kentucky colleges and universities in their faculty-supervised research during the summer. These grants cover essential budget items such as supplies, travel, and stipends, fostering scientific discovery and understanding in Kentucky. Eligible students must work under a faculty member who is a Kentucky Academy of Science member, ensuring a collaborative and enriching research experience.

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin's Community Impact Fund provides grants up to $10,000 for impactful projects in nine counties. Focused on sustainability, it supports nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies in enhancing community services, expanding programs, and addressing systemic challenges. The fund aims to create lasting change by funding projects that exceed local resource capacities and encourage collaboration among communities.

The Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust Grant supports U.S. public charities dedicated to advancing aviation science and technology through research and development of improved aircraft. Established in 1984 by Emil Buehler, a visionary in aeronautical science, the trust perpetuates his passion for flight. Proposals should align with the foundation's mission to enhance the aviation field. Deadlines for submissions are June 1 for September meetings and December 1 for April meetings.

The Ohio Valley Jaycees Charitable Fund Grant, administered by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, supports local charitable organizations in Ohio and West Virginia. Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt and provide services in specific counties. The fund emphasizes community improvement and accepts one application per cycle, ensuring fair distribution. Note that grants are not available for individuals or for-profit entities, and applications must follow strict submission guidelines.

The Creative Heights initiative, funded by The Oregon Community Foundation, aims to enhance Oregon's cultural landscape by supporting innovative arts projects. Grants between $10,000 and $100,000 are available annually, totaling up to $1 million. The program encourages unique proposals that foster creativity across various disciplines, including visual arts, theatre, and music. Eligible applicants include individuals and groups, with a focus on collaboration and community engagement, ensuring diverse and underserved audiences are reached.

The Elkin/Tri-County Grants, managed by the Winston-Salem Foundation, aim to enhance community investment, philanthropic services, and student aid in Forsyth County. The foundation prioritizes projects that foster an inclusive economy and equitable education. Nonprofits serving the Tri-Counties area can apply for funding, with an emphasis on collaborative initiatives. Grants support innovative ideas but typically do not cover ongoing expenses or capital campaigns. The initiative is dedicated to impactful, lasting contributions to the local community.

The Center of Excellence for Alternative Jet Fuels and Environment, co-led by Washington State University and MIT, focuses on advancing aviation technology through research. Supported by the FAA, NASA, and other federal entities, ASCENT collaborates with 16 top U.S. universities and over 60 stakeholders to enhance the safety and sustainability of aviation. This initiative aims to foster innovative solutions in alternative jet fuels while addressing environmental impacts in the aviation sector.

The Indiana CTSI (IUSM) Core Equipment Grant invites proposals from designated IU School of Medicine Cores for equipment purchases that enhance research capabilities. Funding between $5,000 and $100,000 is available, with consideration for higher amounts if matching funds are identified. Eligible applicants must demonstrate the potential for new technologies and broad user engagement, with preference given to projects leveraging additional funding sources.

Office of Accounts and Control

The primary mission of the Office of Accounts and Control is to promote the financial integrity and accountability of state government through sound administrative and accounting controls and procedures.

State of Rhode Island Designated Grants

State Designated Grants are funded through the state budget. In 2016, the Community Service Grant program was eliminated and replaced in favor of state agency-administered itemized budget appropriations and competitive grants. The Department of Administration’s Office of Accounts and Control has developed a standard payment policy and uniform set of procedures that will enhance the transparency and accountability of our state grant-funding system, while also taking into account best practices from across state and federal entities.

Designated Grants are funded each fiscal year though the Rhode Island State Budget. State Agencies are awarded specific allocations of funding, stated in the budget. If your organization is awarded funds from a State Agency, you will be contacted by said State Agency with information about your award and instructions on how to submit an application.

The Large Collaborative Grant RFA, sponsored by the Executive Associate Dean for Research at Indiana University School of Medicine, aims to support large, interdisciplinary grants. Open to full-time faculty, it encourages collaboration and innovative research. Up to $75,000 is available per application, with a requirement for matching funds. This initiative seeks to enhance research capabilities and advance the goals of IUSM through collaborative efforts.

Decatur County Community Foundation

Mission of the Decatur County Community Foundation:

We are a public charity serving thousands of people who share a common concern: Improving the quality of life in Decatur County. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help our region meet the challenges of changing times. The foundation invests and administers these funds that help our region meet the challenges of changing times.

The Decatur County Community Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life throughout Decatur County by investing in area nonprofits through our grant programs and by providing individuals, families and area businesses who love our communities with a way to give back.

The Decatur County Community Foundation Grants

Grants are available to 501(c)3 organizations and government entities serving Decatur County. Grant selections are made in an effort to create a better quality of life for people in Decatur County. The local governing committee reviews the applications from charitable organizations serving their community. 

The Ecolab Community Giving Program, supported by the Ecolab Foundation, matches employee donations to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits up to $1,000 annually. This initiative promotes community engagement and supports various focus areas, including youth education, civic development, environmental conservation, and arts. With over $174 million contributed since 1980, Ecolab demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the communities where its employees live and work through impactful philanthropic efforts.

The Proposal Development Award supports Michigan-based nonprofits by providing funding to hire grant writers for health-related grant applications. This initiative helps organizations apply for funding from various sources, including the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation and local health grants. The award is designed for nonprofits lacking the capacity to develop proposals independently, ensuring they can compete for essential health funding.

The Allied Arts & Humanities Fund Grant – Operating Support aims to enhance cultural organizations in the Bartlesville area by providing funding for arts and humanities programming. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits can apply for support to develop new initiatives or continue existing programs that reach underserved audiences. The grant committee prioritizes innovative projects, ensuring that only one grant request is awarded per applicant to maximize impact.

The Wheaton Cultural Project Grants, offered by the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, support impactful arts and humanities projects in Wheaton, MD. These grants aim to enhance cultural diversity, support underserved communities, and provide professional opportunities for local artists and scholars. Eligible applicants include organizations and individuals residing in Montgomery County, with funding available for a range of artistic disciplines. Projects must engage the public and adhere to current health guidelines.

The Advancement Grants, offered by the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, aim to support non-profit arts and humanities organizations in Montgomery County, MD, with annual expenses exceeding $50,000. These grants assist in maintaining financial stability, strategic long-term planning, and promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and access within the arts and humanities sector.
